Jiang Yu was in the hospital.

The call came from the hospital.

Through a pane of windscreen glass, Lu Tong was looking up, saying something to a man.

It only took a few minutes.

The two of them walked off in different directions.

I followed Lu Tong for a while.

She stopped the car and suddenly turned around to glare at me.

By the time Jiang Yu’s call came through again, I was already sure Lu Tong was heading home.

After calling the property management, I hurried to the hospital.

“Why are you only here now?”

“Your wife almost had a miscarriage just now. You should go in and see her.”

The nurse gave me a glare too.

It was somewhat similar to the look Lu Tong had given me earlier.

So much so that I didn’t really hear what she was saying before I was pushed into the ward.

“Zhou-Ge, I’m sorry.”

Jiang Yu struggled to sit up in bed.

Perhaps due to her illness, her face was a bit pale.

“What happened?”

I suppressed the irritation in my heart, deliberately trying not to think about Lu Tong.

“I… I’m pregnant.”

Jiang Yu lowered her head, tears as big as beans falling onto the white thin blanket.

Not causing any accidents is the most basic one.

She looked up at me, tears streaming down.

“That night, you said it was a safe period, that we didn’t need to.”

“The night we met Lu Tong-Jie at the bar.”
