Chapter 4 - I Have a Son
After a pause, the advanced zombie lifted its head again, the red glow in its eyes becoming bright once more. “You are not the Host, but you have the Host’s scent. Are you the First Generation? No… you are…” First Generation? My memory contained no explanation for this term, yet the advanced zombie knew about it. It seems the waters of the Research Institute run deep indeed.
Zhao Qian and the advanced zombie stared at each other for a long time, and then the advanced zombie suddenly spoke a phrase that nearly made me spit blood: “Mo…m!”
What the heck? Since when did Zhao Qian have a son? And such a big, strong one!
Zhao Qian, how could you cheat on me behind my back… As I was shamelessly thinking this, Zhao Qian suddenly turned and slapped me loudly…
I exclaimed, “Really? Why hit me again?!”
Zhao Qian’s face was flushed, and there were traces of tears in her eyes. Her look, like a weeping beauty, made my heart ache. Biting her lip, Zhao Qian finally burst out, “You’re the one cheating! Hmph!”
What? No way, I didn’t say anything just now. How does she know what I’m thinking? Just as I was puzzled, Zhao Qian slowly walked towards the advanced zombie. I was about to stop her, but Zhao Qian gestured for me not to approach, and the advanced zombie didn’t show any signs of aggression towards her. What surprised me next was when the advanced zombie threw aside the thick, long iron rod in its hand and sat down, while Zhao Qian patted its head twice, murmuring, “That’s a good kid…” The advanced zombie seemed to enjoy it, humming contentedly. Is this the power of a beautiful woman? Life isn’t fair.
Zhao Qian glanced at me and, scrunching her nose, pointed at me, saying to the advanced zombie, “Baby, that’s your Dad…” I looked back, and it seemed like I was the only person Zhao Qian was pointing at in this direction, with not even a zombie behind me. What the heck, is this big guy my son? I’m still a virgin, how could I have such a big son!
“Zhao Qian, are you sure about this? When did he become my son?” I hurriedly asked.
Zhao Qian turned back and walked towards me. I quickly covered my face with my hands to prevent her from hitting me again. Even though my body, including my skin, had become incredibly strong, being hit by this seemingly delicate girl still hurt, and not just a little.
As Zhao Qian got closer, I closed my eyes, bracing for a slap, but instead, she gently placed her hands over my hands on my face and softly said, “Let me see.” Somehow, I loosened my hands. “Slap!” Another smack…
“…”
Seeing my speechless expression, Zhao Qian snorted and said, “This advanced zombie was created by those old folks at the Research Institute using your cells and mine mixed together. If he’s not your son, whose is he?! Now you’re denying it? Humph! And let me ask you, those things you said to me before, do you plan on fulfilling them now?” Zhao Qian said to me angrily.
A mutant created with my cells and Zhao Qian’s? That could indeed be considered my son. However, what caught my attention was the last part of what Zhao Qian said. What does she want me to fulfill? I have no memory of it at all; it’s probably hidden in my unreturned memories. Should I just laugh it off or be honest? Admitting I don’t remember might get me killed by Zhao Qian.
As I was about to tell Zhao Qian about my altered memories, her hand reached out again. But this time, it wasn’t to slap me; instead, she brushed her small hand gently against my cheek and said, “Don’t say anything, I know it all.”
“Zhao Qian, you…”
“My ability is to see through people’s hearts. I know what you’re thinking, so you don’t need to say it. I’ll settle this account with those people at the Research Institute sooner or later. But for now, I have to leave.”
“Leave? Where to?” Hearing that Zhao Qian was leaving, I became anxious. It had been so hard to see her again, how could I let her leave so easily?
Zhao Qian looked up at the somewhat gloomy sky and said, “There are things I have to do, but we will meet again…”
Before Zhao Qian could finish her sentence, I pulled her tightly into my arms and murmured, “I thought I would never see you again in this lifetime, so please don’t go.” The embrace made Zhao Qian a bit dizzy; she knew what was in my heart, and it pained her even more. But she still had unfinished business and had to leave.
Before she could speak, I sealed her cherry lips with mine. She struggled at first, but when my tongue entered her small mouth and intertwined with hers, Zhao Qian, feeling the pleasure, stopped resisting. She even began to mirror me, her inexperienced tongue learning to wrap around mine, slowly becoming absorbed in this pleasurable game. Kissing passionately in a world overrun by zombies – only the two of us would dare to do such a thing.
After a long time, we finally parted, both out of breath. Zhao Qian pushed me away and took to the sky again, this time wisely holding down her skirt. She gave me a deep look and communicated directly to my mind: “I have to go now. We will meet again in Jingbei City. The baby will take you to Jingbei City, so don’t worry, Tiankuang, I love you…” With that, she flew away without looking back, disappearing from my sight in an instant.
A drop of water fell from the sky, wavering before I caught it in my hand. Salty – it was a tear…
Then, from the gloomy sky, rain started pouring down in heavy droplets, washing away the dark bloodstains on the ground. Yet, I had no intention of seeking shelter. Zhao Qian had left, and tears mixed with rain, making it impossible to tell them apart.
As I stood in melancholy, the advanced zombie began to walk towards me. Even though Zhao Qian had told me this was my “son,” I couldn’t truly accept having such a “son.” After all, this “ungrateful child” had nearly killed his “father” earlier. Although the wounds from the iron rod had already healed due to my regeneration, I was still feeling weak. If we were to fight again, I would likely end up as mincemeat.
However, my worries seemed unnecessary. My “son,” the advanced zombie, roared to summon four lesser zombies, whose intelligence was probably at the kindergarten level. They somehow found an old, grand chair for me to sit on, and carried me along.
Thankfully, the rain didn’t last long. It came quickly and left just as fast. Although I was a bit soaked, the winter wind soon dried me off. Fortunately, I wasn’t fully human anymore; otherwise, I would definitely have caught a severe cold.
Sitting in the swaying chair, I soon drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, the moon and stars were sparse in the sky, but I was surrounded by the growls of zombies…
With a stiff neck and twitching lips, I glanced around. What I saw nearly gave me a heart attack. My “son” was truly something, gathering a few thousand underlings to escort us down a highway. This sight was enough to make my heart race. Without my “son’s” dominance, these brainless minions would probably have torn me to pieces while I slept.
In a way, this was good. Although our pace was slow, we avoided the hassle of being attacked by mid to low-level zombies or mutated creatures along the way. These zombies might not need to eat, but I did. My stomach was growling with hunger.
Gathering my courage, I called out to my “son” from the chair. This might have been a mistake, as my voice prompted all the zombies to start roaring at me. Fortunately, the loudest roar from the front of the procession quickly silenced them – naturally, it came from my “son”…
