The Eight-Year Lie: Shattered Vows and a Vengeful Heart - Chapter 10
I nodded with my eyes closed, looking distressed. Mrs. Liang was about to ask more, when I suddenly clutched my stomach and cried out in pain. This scared Mrs. Liang, who hastily called her housekeeper to support me and urgently told the driver to get the car ready.
On the way, Mrs. Liang urgently called a doctor she knew, but that wasn’t the hospital I wanted to go to. I looked up at Mrs. Liang, my voice weak, “Mrs. Liang, I have a doctor I know at a private hospital. I always go to him.”
Seeing me recover, Mrs. Liang indulged me and had the driver change routes. I closed my eyes and continued the act, but for a moment, I actually felt a little unwell.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Mrs. Liang asked the housekeeper to take my ID to register for a gynecology appointment.
Gynecology was on the second floor. The housekeeper was queuing to register, and Mrs. Liang helped me onto the elevator. The elevator ride lasted only a few seconds, and all the while I was praying, praying for heaven to help me.
The elevator doors opened directly into the waiting area, with five rows of blue chairs. My eyes quickly scanned the area, but I didn’t see the person I wanted to see.
Mrs. Liang helped me sit down. The cold chair was like my heart at that moment. Just when I thought the plan had failed, the elevator doors opened, and Xu Ge walked out, wearing yesterday’s clothes. Although he wore a mask, his exhaustion was evident. In his hand was a white paper, and I didn’t need to guess; it was definitely a B-ultrasound report.
Given his cautious nature, he would definitely personally confirm whether she was pregnant or not.
Behind Xu Ge followed that woman. She, too, looked haggard, raising her head to look around. The moment our eyes met, I subtly nodded at her.
“Don’t, don’t make me have an abortion! I beg you! Xu Ge!”
The woman’s unexpected shriek made everyone around turn their heads, including Mrs. Liang next to me.
