Ridiculous.
She had actually been moved by Li Juefeng. She must have been drunk… Yes, that had to be it. She was definitely drunk.
“I’ll dry it myself.”
Reaching for the hair dryer in his hand, she wanted to reject even the slightest hint of kindness from him.
But Li Juefeng brushed aside her soft hand, straightened his tall frame, and resumed drying her hair. His fingers combed through her jet-black strands, teasingly brushing against her ear before giving it a light pinch.
The warm air lifted her hair, but Gu Xiaoai sat perfectly still, ignoring his playful gestures.
“Gu Xiaoai, have you fallen in love with me?” His sudden question carried a smug confidence.
“I will never fall in love with you,” she replied calmly, her delicate face devoid of any expression.
The hand running through her hair froze mid-motion.
Gu Xiaoai looked up, puzzled, only to see the man before her stagger slightly. The next moment, the hair dryer was hurled to the ground with a loud crash-“Bang!”
His face darkened, a terrifying shadow clouding his features. “Say that again?!”
Her shoulders flinched in fear. The haze in her mind began to clear, and fragments of his past words and tonight’s actions pieced themselves together.
He had done all this to make her fall for him. He wanted to conquer her, body and soul, to claim every part of her.
How laughable. What made him think this would make her love him?
Fueled by the alcohol, Gu Xiaoai found herself laughing out loud. Fixing her gaze on his cold, menacing face, she mocked, “Li Juefeng, a man who once forced himself on me-no matter what he does, I will never love him.”
Li Juefeng’s fists clenched tightly as he glared at her.
“So, don’t waste your time.”
“…”
“Thank you for your care tonight.” Rising from the piano bench, she uttered the words indifferently and turned to leave.
“Gu Xiaoai!” His voice was icy, each syllable forced out through gritted teeth. In one swift motion, he yanked her back and pushed her down onto the piano bench. His fist raised high, ready to strike, but she lifted her hazy, drunken eyes to quietly meet his.
Her face was expressionless, softened by the intoxication, looking so fragile.
Damn it. He couldn’t do it.
The fist suspended in mid-air slowly lowered.
Li Juefeng slammed the piano lid shut with a sudden force, then lifted her onto it. One hand cradled the back of her head as he leaned down, capturing her lips in a punishing, unrelenting kiss. There was no tenderness, only raw aggression.
The bite cut deep, the pain searing into her very bones.
