- Chapter 62 - Miss, Why Are You Crying? 2
When the plane touched down at the hometown airport, it was already one in the afternoon. Gu Xiaoai hurriedly bought some Fairy Wands and fireworks, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for Orchid Kindergarten.
Nervous, expectant, with an indescribable sense of unease and tension.
Gu Xiaoai took deep breaths repeatedly, yet couldn’t suppress the wild beating of her heart. The closer she got to the kindergarten, the more her heart raced uncontrollably. The scenery along the way was unfamiliar-she hadn’t seen it in nine years, and it had changed so much.
It was holiday time, and the kindergarten was empty, devoid of children’s laughter. The teaching building was painted in vibrant colors, resembling a fairytale kingdom from a storybook.
The gate was open, and Gu Xiaoai took a deep breath, carrying a bag full of fireworks as she walked in.
The kindergarten had changed a lot too, with many new facilities, making it even more beautiful than before.
The swing set was still in its original place. Gu Xiaoai approached and shook the chains, memories flooding back. People say memories from kindergarten are the vaguest, yet she remembered every moment spent playing with Chu Shixiu there.
Unconsciously, the memories with Chu Shixiu became the happiest and most joyful part of her recollection.
A smile crept onto her lips.
Had Chu Shixiu not arrived yet?
Gu Xiaoai glanced around, feeling a surge of anxiety. Chu Shixiu had gone through the trouble of putting up such a big advertisement to find her; he couldn’t possibly not show up…
Gu Xiaoai, pull yourself together, don’t be so nervous.
She silently admonished herself, clutching the fireworks tightly.
“Miss Liang, our Young Master just refuses to leave. I’ve been trying to persuade him for a long time.”
A voice reached her ears, and Gu Xiaoai turned to look.
She saw a tall, beautiful young woman, carrying a designer handbag, walking with an air of arrogance towards the teaching building. Beside her, a man was chattering incessantly, “Miss Liang, please try to persuade the Young Master, or else the Master will be angry again.”
“I understand.” The woman addressed as Miss Liang replied, removing her sunglasses with her manicured hand. As she passed the swing set, she casually glanced over, meeting Gu Xiaoai’s gaze.
The young woman’s bright red high heels paused for a moment, as if contemplating something, then she withdrew her gaze and walked away without looking back.
For some reason, Gu Xiaoai was certain at first glance that this woman was Chu Shixiu’s Fiancée.
She was very beautiful, especially with that air of a wealthy lady, something Gu Xiaoai had gradually lost over the past nine years, and couldn’t compare to.
