Chapter 4
When I came to Hai City with Jiang Huaixu, I only brought a set of old clothes that had been washed to the point of fading.
Now that I’m leaving, after counting for a long time, I can barely fill a single bag.
As I carried it downstairs, Jiang Huaixu was having breakfast in the dining room.
In the early morning, only the financial news on the TV was broadcasting, making my footsteps particularly noticeable.
Jiang Huaixu saw my bag and casually asked, “Where are you going?”
I was taken aback, then quickly responded, “Aunt Zhang might have forgotten to tell you, I won’t be living here anymore.”
The sound from the TV was abruptly cut off as Jiang Huaixu put down his chopsticks.
“What do you mean? Not living here, you’re moving out?”
My heart instantly tightened.
Jiang’s Mother had specifically instructed that I couldn’t tell Jiang Huaixu about my departure.
She didn’t want any complications.
“Yesterday, Xiran said she liked your room, you already knew?”
“You can just switch rooms, no need to move out.”
I quickly shook my head, “No, Young Master Jiang, you’re engaged, it’s inconvenient for me to stay here.”
The chair scraped loudly against the floor, and before I knew it, Jiang Huaixu was standing in front of me.
“An Qin, speak properly, you don’t need to call me Young Master Jiang.” He was clearly displeased, “Whether I get engaged or not doesn’t affect our relationship.”
“You have nothing, while she can give me support.”
“Choosing her, is it so hard to understand?”
Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
Strangely, the heart that had been nervously pounding just moments ago suddenly calmed.
No longer painful, no longer sad.
“I understand.” My voice was gentle.
Interests are always more tempting than sincerity.
So, between Jiang’s Mother’s ten million and him.
I didn’t choose him either.
I chuckled softly, raising my head, “There’s nothing here that I long for anymore, so I don’t want to stay. I hope you can understand.”
“Young Master Jiang.”
