Take Me Away, My Love - Chapter 2 - Disappearance
From last night to today, it’s been almost ten hours without any news from Jian Yiqing. Even Li Minchun is unreachable.
Vaguely, Zhang Mi already had a bad feeling.
Coming down from upstairs, she saw Gu Xing and Ru Long sitting on the couch with worried looks on their faces. Both of them were holding phones, continuously making calls, but with each one they made, the worry on their faces deepened.
“No news from them yet?” Zhang Mi basically had already guessed it.
Ru Long’s face was pale, visibly more haggard. Ever since Chen Zhen disappeared, he had mobilized everyone he could to look for her, but there was no sign of her.
Even though many people told him that Chen Zhen might have gone to find Cheng Duo, he refused to believe it.
How could it be? Just a few days ago, Chen Zhen had said she wanted to be with him. How could she just go back to that jerk so quickly?
His voice was hoarse as he said helplessly, “We’ve looked everywhere we could, but there’s still no trace of them.”
Just then, the phone rang, and Ru Long grabbed it like a lifeline. But after answering, he stood up suddenly.
“What’s wrong?” Gu Xing and Zhang Mi asked simultaneously. They had a premonition that something big was happening around them.
Ru Long hung up the call and said anxiously, “During the proposal yesterday, tourists heard gunshots, but no bodies were found. I have to go to Hawaii now. I’ll leave the company to you all.”
“What? What about Li Minchun?”
“And Jian Yiqing?”
Gu Xing and Zhang Mi spoke almost at the same time, and then they exchanged awkward glances. But in such a critical situation, they quickly suppressed their emotions.
“I don’t know. I suspect it’s Cheng Duo and Cheng Mo, so you must be extremely careful and keep a close eye on all the company’s movements, understand?”
As he was leaving, Ru Long still couldn’t help but turn back to remind them, “You must stay safe, and if you get any news about them, please notify me as soon as possible.”
After saying this, he was booking his flight over the phone while hurrying to the airport.
If he could, he would swipe his card to buy a plane just to get to Hawaii as soon as possible.

Now that Li Minchun and Jian Yiqing have both been ambushed, their next target is very likely the company.” At this moment, the most rational ones were Gu Xing and Zhang Mi. Zhang Mi truly was the daughter of the leader of an overseas criminal organization. No matter the situation, she remained calm and composed.
Faced with Cheng Mo’s powerful aura, she showed no fear and even used her father as a trump card to suppress her opponent.

“Be careful.” Those simple words conveyed deep concern.
Zhang Mi nodded, turned, and left.
Sure enough, she met Cheng Mo at the Shangdao Café. Cheng Mo was always so radiant, but no matter how glamorous she looked on the outside, her heart remained dark.
Once seated, before Cheng Mo could speak, Zhang Mi got straight to the point, asking, “What’s the situation with Jian Yiqing and Li Minchun now?”

Hearing this, Zhang Mi was startled, looking at her intensely.

Saying this, Zhang Mi stood up, leaned in, and whispered, “You haven’t caught them at all!”
“What?” Cheng Mo was a bit upset. Zhang Mi’s arrogant attitude brought Li Minchun’s image to her mind. Damn, how did she not notice before that these two women are so similar?
“I said, you haven’t caught them; at least they’re safe for now,” Zhang Mi said with a light smile. “Thanks for calling me out and giving me such good news!”

Cheng Mo finally lost her temper. Her right hand shot out, grabbing for Zhang Mi’s neck. Even though Zhang Mi was a Taekwondo expert, she couldn’t dodge the deadly strike from the mercenary Cheng Mo.
Almost instantly, Zhang Mi’s fair neck was caught in Cheng Mo’s grip. With just a bit more force, Zhang Mi’s neck could be snapped.
Despite Cheng Mo’s eyes practically blazing with fury, Zhang Mi remained calm and discreetly pulled out her phone.
The screen displayed that it was recording.
“My phone has a live streaming feature. I believe that by now, my subordinates have already shown this video to my father. Or perhaps his loyal old subordinates are on their way here as we speak.”
As Zhang Mi spoke, Cheng Mo slowly released her grip. Even if there was no live recording, she actually didn’t dare act rashly against this woman.
Switching tactics, Cheng Mo said, “Zhang Mi, you’re young and smart, from a respected background. Are you really content being overshadowed by Li Minchun? Doesn’t it hurt to see her happy with Jian Yiqing? As a fellow woman, I can’t help but feel it’s unfair for you.”

He shook his head vehemently and held his wife tighter, repeatedly assuring, “Wife, you’re my true love. No other woman interests me at all. Please don’t tease me like this, okay?”
Seeing Cheng Duo’s earnest, playful demeanor beside her, Cheng Mo couldn’t help but laugh. She tapped her finger on his forehead and said, “Who asked you to tempt her? Do you think a woman like that can be swayed by you?”

“I want to send her to Hawaii and have her help find Li Minchun and Jian Yiqing.”
Cheng Mo’s words startled Cheng Duo, and then he finally realized, giving Cheng Mo a thumbs-up: “Brilliant, my wife is truly brilliant!”
Cheng Mo proudly raised her brows and showed a charming smile, but the occasional fierceness in her eyes was truly terrifying.
