Chapter 2

I thought things would get better in high school, away from them, but then I found out that the homeroom teacher was a classmate of Margot’s father.

He gave her special attention, and I don’t know what she said, but the teacher always treated me with indifference.

He even deliberately made sure I sat far away from Margot.

Margot found it difficult to maintain her position as the top student in the class here; in the first mock exam, she ranked fifth.

The top four students were from various counties, with ordinary families, and the teacher arranged them into a study group, including Margot.

Meanwhile, I continued to hover around the twentieth place.

Hidden in the crowd, not competing.

Until the second semester of sophomore year, when the male lead, Wilder, transferred to our school.

His arrival caused a sensation throughout the school; he was the only son of the top-tier Shaw Group, with family businesses spread across the country.

With his height of 1.83 meters, rebellious nature, and charming eyes, he always drew screams from many girls whenever he played basketball.

His gaze frequently fell on Margot.

The chatter around me was filled with infatuation.

They were crazily shipping him and Margot.

Tired of it, I took out my test papers and immersed myself in solving problems to distract myself.

Wilder and Margot maintained a not-too-close, not-too-distant interaction, having meals together and strolling on the playground.

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the college entrance exams, and the two of them agreed to apply to the same city.

Wilder even found a renowned tutor for Margot.

And the city and school I had my heart set on turned out to be the same as Wilder’s.

But this time, I wouldn’t give up for anyone.

I vowed to give it my all.

After the results came out, I ranked in the top five in the province and got into my desired school and major.

The whole school was in an uproar, including the teachers and students from middle school.

This time, I wasn’t sitting in the back row behind Margot.
