My Girlfriend's a Monster - Chapter 40
“Me?” Luo Meihua was surprised when she heard that her prospective son-in-law wanted to talk to her alone. She instinctively thought it might be like last time, where he had concerns about Xiao Ke.
She glanced at her daughter with a complex expression before turning and leaving the room.
Luo Ke couldn’t quite understand what that look from Luo Meihua meant. Her dear wife, her mother, seemed to be hiding some damn secret from her.
“Monsters are still monsters, after all.”
Luo Ke stood at the doorway, watching Luo Meihua walk towards Zhong Qingxiao. When she arrived, Zhong Qingxiao glanced in her direction, his eyes filled with caution.
“Sister is really naive, isn’t she? Falling in love with a human? Look at how cunning they are… Hehe, can sister really be killed? Is there a monster in this world that can’t be killed?” Huo Sisi laughed as she looked at her.
Damn it, there were so many delicious meals here, yet because of Luo Ke’s presence, she couldn’t touch a single one… Especially Zhong Qingxiao, whom Luo Ke was watching closely. Beautiful humans are especially tasty.
Huo Sisi swallowed her saliva, her gaze dark and fierce. Consuming those bland, cheap plant products every day was driving her to starvation!
Why? Why is there a monster here more advanced than her? This monster even harbors foolish emotions for humans-how ridiculous.
The prolonged hunger made Huo Sisi extremely irritable; she was on the verge of exploding.
Luo Meihua was pulled aside by Zhong Qingxiao. They even went to a very secluded corner to talk, leaving Luo Ke unable to know what they were discussing.
Just consuming a few eyeballs wasn’t enough.
It wasn’t enough; she was too lenient with her dear wife, giving him too much freedom…
Luo Ke stared intently in that direction, softly answering Huo Sisi’s question: “No.”
“Isn’t it annoying? These humans, they have no idea how many times sister has saved them. They’re not worth it.”
Huo Sisi sucked on a small piece of candy, not forgetting the murderous intent she sensed from Luo Ke last night. Although she didn’t know what made Luo Ke stop, Huo Sisi knew that if she hadn’t changed her mind, she would have been dead.
Being completely suppressed was really unpleasant.
Why can’t monsters unite like humans?
At the very least, don’t go against her.
Due to this layer of fear, Huo Sisi dared not truly approach Luo Ke, maintaining a distance of at least ten meters, communicating in a monstrous way.
“Yes.” Luo Ke’s pupils were deep. “Really not worth it.”
She had eagerly exposed her True Form but didn’t receive the worship she imagined. She wasn’t treated as a deity. Why don’t humans seek her protection? Isn’t that the simplest way to survive? Just make her happy.
Can’t they even do that?
But she had sincerely tried to make Zhong Qingxiao happy, and his expression seemed very content.
It was fake.
Human males.
Is he trying to turn her mother against her? To kill her? To unite with these people?
Does he think she’s a lowly monster species?
The answer to mating? Is he going to keep delaying until he kills her?
She was too kind. Living among humans for over twenty years, she almost forgot her true nature. Is she a kind-hearted human girl?
Shouldn’t a master have absolute control over their pet? Her pet was already betraying her.
Seventeen minutes, Zhong Qingxiao talked with Luo Meihua alone for seventeen minutes. At the moment their conversation ended, Luo Ke suddenly lost interest in what they discussed.
Luo Meihua was a very introverted person. Retirement allowed her to cut off unnecessary social interactions, making this introversion more apparent. After talking with her prospective son-in-law, she returned, giving her daughter a look that was still complex and unreadable.
Very mild emotional fluctuations, Luo Ke couldn’t even guess from her emotions what they talked about.
Was she successfully turned against her? Luo Meihua? More peaceful than she imagined. Luo Meihua didn’t have much affection for her, did she? She had heard Luo Meihua complain about her.
Luo Meihua had called her an ungrateful wolf. She had looked up the meaning of that term online.
Nightfall was inevitable.
Luo Ke no longer watched Zhong Qingxiao, turning to enter the room. Not long after, Zhong Qingxiao also started to return, looking like he had briefly relaxed.
Yan Cheng watched his back thoughtfully.
“Bro.” Zhao Xucheng approached, smiling, and asked, “What did he say to you just now?”
“He said Room 1801 is willing to provide food for the newcomers for two days. Just two days. If they still need supplies after that, we don’t have to be merciful.”
“He’s completely a do-gooder.” Zhao Xucheng scoffed disdainfully. This kind of person clearly hasn’t experienced the complexities of society. What’s he doing here, acting like a saint? High education really makes a difference, huh.
Yan Cheng: “With conditions.”
Room 1801 offered food in exchange for two days of peace, naturally with conditions.
Zhao Xucheng was taken aback, completely unexpected, and asked, “What conditions, bro?”
Yan Cheng shook his head, saying no more.
But he couldn’t help but wonder-Zhong Qingxiao asked him for a favor, saying if he and his girlfriend died, to help take care of their bodies and comfort the elders at home.
Isn’t that request strange? As if they’re certain to die before him.
When Zhong Qingxiao returned to the bedroom, his girlfriend was sitting on the bed, seemingly waiting for him.
Her direct gaze made Zhong Qingxiao pause, moving his lips but saying nothing as he entered the bathroom.
If he guessed correctly, this night might not go well for him… After being dragged out of the shower naked by his girlfriend that night, Zhong Qingxiao now had a bit of a shadow about bathing.
“In a hurry to leave?” Luo Ke’s voice sounded behind him, the words making Zhong Qingxiao a bit confused.
He stopped, turning to look at Luo Ke. “What’s wrong, Xiao Ke?”
Luo Ke smirked. When did he switch back to that enticingly gentle tone? Humans are really good at deception.
“The answer? Don’t you remember?”
Zhong Qingxiao’s face turned pale. He replied, “I-I want to prepare a bit more.”
“It’s been two days, you know.” Luo Ke wasn’t surprised at all. She didn’t even have any emotional fluctuations; it was completely expected.
“…Tomorrow night, is tomorrow night okay?” Zhong Qingxiao tried to smile, but the smile was a bit forced.
Wow, he actually gave her a time so close. Does he think she can’t survive until tomorrow night? Why is Zhong Qingxiao so confident he can kill her?
Does he think she’s like those other monsters?
Luo Ke rejected him expressionlessly: “There’s no more time to give you.”
An inconspicuous tentacle wrapped around Zhong Qingxiao’s ankle, lifting him and throwing him onto the bed. The rough action made Zhong Qingxiao instinctively want to curl up, but Luo Ke gave him no chance. His limbs were completely bound by tentacles, like the strongest straps, leaving him unable to move.
When his clothes were completely torn apart, Zhong Qingxiao suddenly realized his girlfriend’s intention. He was so tense he wanted to plead, but when he looked up, he was completely stunned.
A monster, huge and dark, growing larger, like a massive shadow pressing down on him. Seeing this, Zhong Qingxiao realized how restrained Luo Ke’s True Form had been before. Zhong Qingxiao had thought she was just a monster similar to an octopus, even foolishly imagining her as docile. But the sight before him made him fully realize-this was a monster, a complete, terrifying monster. Countless tentacles, like snakes, crawled over every corner of the room, and it was still expanding, as if it would crush the room.
Not just a simple octopus… Zhong Qingxiao couldn’t even find its eyes. The instinct to survive made Zhong Qingxiao struggle violently. He began to be shocked by what he saw, laughing at his ignorance. He had foolishly thought he could change such a monster.
The scent of water heavily permeated every corner of the room, so dense that Zhong Qingxiao was almost suffocating. He saw the room’s surroundings even being infiltrated by water. He instinctively felt Luo Ke was going to destroy this place…
“No! No way!” Zhong Qingxiao struggled desperately, but he couldn’t shake off those tentacles. They seemed to transform from tentacles into tangible hands, sprouting fingers, cold and sticky, covering his mouth and nose, wandering around him.
He felt like a displayed item, as if many people were touching him.
The heavy scent of water, if he couldn’t breathe normally, Zhong Qingxiao would feel like he was drowning in the ocean because he was indeed surrounded like the ocean, tightly sealed.
Please, Xiao Ke, don’t do this to me. Zhong Qingxiao gritted his teeth, his struggle like a bird trying to escape a cage, completely futile. The iron-like cage didn’t budge.
The cold touch, extremely cold, made Zhong Qingxiao’s body stiffen. No, no way, he’d be torn apart. No matter how much he prayed, it was useless. Zhong Qingxiao wished this was a dream. He underestimated a monster.
The Luo Ke before him had no trace of human shadow, not even resembling a deep-sea octopus. It perfectly matched the appearance of a deep-sea water monster, seemingly composed of dense black water, without a definite outline, without a definite size, just a monster.
The color of blood dyed a small water circle. Zhong Qingxiao gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with despair. He began to find his self-righteous thoughts laughable. He began to clearly realize-it was completely impossible.
Whether he wanted to successfully teach his girlfriend to become a normal human or completely fail and perish with her, it was impossible.
So beautiful, her wife.
The monster opened its eyes in the dark night, black eyes that no one could discern. Indeed, very sweet, sweeter than she imagined, a thousand times over.
Beautiful shoulders, graceful curves, swollen to a deep pink, all her absolute love.
But why are his eyes tightly shut? She had graciously shown mercy in her rage, thoughtfully not hurting him too much.
