Chapter 96 - The Shadowy Strike!
Not daring to be careless, Leng Yan quickly cast a concealment seal on himself, suppressing his aura and vanishing into the air.
Leng Yan’s sudden disappearance infuriated Wang Han. He unleashed waves of sword Qi over the area where Leng disappeared, hoping to force him out.
“Leng Yan, you coward! Show yourself if you dare!” Wang Han shouted angrily.
“Wang Han, don’t rush. Get ready to strike. Watch as I flush him out!” Li Nan waved his hand, instantly stirring up a fierce wind that enveloped several miles ahead with sand and gravel.
Leng Yan didn’t dare go far. If they couldn’t find him, all his efforts would be in vain.
Just as Leng Yan was pondering whether to reveal himself, a gust suddenly arose, and he chuckled inwardly, acknowledging that Li Nan had some cleverness.
Sure enough, although Leng was hidden in the air, the flying sand could land on him. Soon, a faint outline of Leng Yan was seen swiftly moving forward.
“Heaven-Slaying Sword Qi, attack!”
Seeing that Leng Yan’s location was exposed, Wang Han unleashed his long-prepared magical technique. Golden, fierce Qi filled the sky, like a giant dragon, chasing after Leng Yan.
“A fine act, Wang Han. You really want to kill me off. If I survive today, there will be a reckoning!” Leng Yan shouted in fear, hurling curses while pushing out with his palms, launching two Fire Spirit Seals that exploded with a thunderous roar.
To make it more convincing, Leng Yan wobbled on his flying sword, descending shakily, making it seem like he was gravely injured.
Similarly, Wang Han, full of hatred for Leng Yan, thought so too. He laughed heartily and pursued with sword control.
Li Nan smiled, maintaining a safe distance as he followed.
Leng Yan landed on the ground, noticing the two had followed. He picked up the Azure Sky Sword and staggered forward. By then, they had reached the outskirts of the Thunder Marsh.
“Leng Yan, weren’t you supposedly gifted? You dared to seize my Luo Yu Peak. Today, I’ll make you die young, chalk it up to the heavens being jealous of talent! Haha…” Wang Han, using his shuttle, suddenly appeared on Leng Yan’s left, stabbing with his sword. Leng Yan rolled on the ground, narrowly dodging and tossed a Fiend Thunder in response.
The Fiend Thunder, concealed by a concealment seal from Leng Yan, went unnoticed by Wang Han. Just as Wang Han was about to pursue Leng Yan after he dodged the attack, a sense of danger suddenly arose. He hastily leaped aside, and at that moment, the Fiend Thunder exploded thunderously!
Although Wang Han managed to dodge in time, he ended up covered in dust, looking rather disheveled.
“Damn it! Such treachery, if I hadn’t dodged in time, I’d be injured for sure!” Wang Han said with lingering fear, becoming more cautious in chasing Leng Yan.
Wang Han and Li Nan pursued Leng Yan for several hours, exchanging blows over a hundred times. Seeing that Leng Yan seemed near his limit, they pressed harder, determined not to let him escape again.
As the sun appeared green, Leng Yan swallowed a few primordial spirit elixirs, instantly looking revitalized and vigorous.
Clutching the Azure Sky Sword, he stood within the Thunder Marsh, no longer fleeing.
Seeing Leng Yan standing still, Wang Han was taken aback. He noticed Leng Yan’s rejuvenated face, realizing he had been tricked. Looking around at the uneven terrain, he found no ambush and was left puzzled.
Li Nan, standing behind Wang Han, observing Leng Yan’s smile, said, “You schemed all this just to lure us here?”
Leng Yan chuckled, “That’s right! I brought you here on purpose. This is the perfect burial ground I’ve chosen for you two. Your deaths will not be in vain!”
“How arrogant, you think you can kill us both? Hmph! You’re dreaming!” Wang Han, unsure of what trick Leng Yan was playing, hesitated to strike first, though he couldn’t resist retorting.
“Yes, killing you both is indeed difficult, but here, everything becomes simple!” Leng Yan took a step back, a chilling expression settling over his face. Suddenly, the sky dimmed as electric snakes began to slither through the air. “Snap!” A lightning bolt struck the ground near Li Nan’s feet, sending wet soil flying in all directions!
Startled, Li Nan stepped back, his face revealing shock. As if realizing something, he quickly pulled out a map. Upon a closer look, his expression changed dramatically. “This is the depths of Thunder Marsh! We have to leave now!”
Li Nan turned to flee, but Leng Yan, who had gone to great lengths to lure them here, was not about to let him escape easily.
A silver needle, swift as lightning, darted towards Li Nan. With quick reflexes, Li Nan raised his long sword to block it. “Clang!” The needle deflected off the sword. Upon closer inspection, Li Nan realized it was the tail needle of a giant bee. He quickly retreated, and a sphere flew to hover above his head, forming a golden barrier that enveloped him.
“Boom!”
A golden queen bee self-destructed, blasting Li Nan dozens of feet away, while the Asura’s soul was retracted by Leng Yan into the netherworld ghost banner.
The brief interruption had left Wang Han and Li Nan in peril, electric snakes slithering and colliding around them. Wang Han now understood Leng Yan’s plot, sensing the formidable power of the lightning that could easily kill him.
“So vicious, Leng Yan! But don’t forget, you’re stuck in this Thunder Marsh too. How will you make it out alive?” Wang Han spat venomously, as his shuttle emitted azure light to shield him from the lightning attacks.
Leng Yan, noticing the dense lightning behind the two, sneered, “If I dared to trap you both here, I must have a way to survive. And now, it’s your time to die!”
Leng Yan stepped forward, pointing a finger. Instantly, the lightning seemed to go berserk, echoing with thunderous roars as a giant lightning figure emerged in the Thunder Marsh. The colossal entity began its heavy march toward Wang Han and Li Nan.
Both wielded supreme-grade treasure tools, especially Li Nan’s golden orb, which was actually a relic particle from a void tribulation monk, granting it immense power.
This was how they managed to hold on amidst the intense lightning onslaught. But now, faced with the lightning giant, they sensed doom approaching as they realized Leng Yan could wield the Thunder Technique, maximizing his power in this setting. Li Nan regretted deeply, having schemed to let Wang Han and Leng Yan weaken each other so he could reap the benefits. Now, he found himself trapped and in dire straits.
The mighty hammer of lightning seemed to herald the end for Wang Han and Li Nan, descending with immense force. However, Li Nan bore the full brunt of the blow alone, as Wang Han had already activated his spatial shuttle, attempting to escape the Thunder Marsh.
Leng Yan had anticipated this and chose not to pursue Wang Han immediately. His priority was to eliminate Li Nan first.
Taking a direct blow from Leng Yan’s thunder god’s hammer, Li Nan felt his energy churning wildly. The golden radiance of the relic particle above his head dimmed significantly.
Seeing Wang Han make his escape only added to Li Nan’s distress and urgency.
With a wave of his hand, Li Nan summoned ten massive peaks, which crashed down towards Leng Yan, before desperately attempting to flee.
Leng Yan dismissed the attack effortlessly, summoning ten thunder dragons that shattered the peaks into rubble.
“Trying to escape?” Leng Yan shouted, as the thunder god wielded a spike to strike the fleeing Li Nan.
The hammer fell, instantly sending a bolt of lightning crashing down. It struck Li Nan’s protective light shield, knocking him skyward and causing him to cough up blood.
In that frozen moment, over ten electric snakes struck Li Nan. The golden relic first withstood the queen bee’s self-destruct blast, then endured the assault of the lightning snakes, followed by two of Leng Yan’s magical techniques. Now, under attack by ten electric snakes, it flickered and fell to the ground, dim and powerless.
“Ah!”
Without the protection of the relic, the lightning struck Li Nan’s body, causing him to scream in agony before being torn apart-a fate sealed before his soul could even escape, it disintegrated entirely.
Having killed Li Nan, Leng Yan retrieved the fallen relic and made his way out of the Thunder Marsh. Meanwhile, Leng Mo was engaged in combat with Wang Han!
Outside the Thunder Marsh, a sweat-drenched Wang Han had barely escaped at the hefty price of burning fifty thousand primordial spirit elixirs. Yet now, he found himself entangled with eight unification realm queen bees and a Heavenly Realm demonic cultivator.
The worst part was that his reservoir of primordial spirit elixirs was nearly depleted from repeated teleportations.
With no other options, Wang Han was forced to break through their siege. If Leng Yan caught up with him, escape would likely be impossible, and he would surely meet his end here.
He soared upward like a sharp sword, golden light radiating from his body, as menacing energy spread out.
Swinging his sword, a dazzling golden sword qi surged towards Leng Mo. Leng Mo, expressionless and unfazed by fear, countered the powerful strike by summoning several fiendish dragons with a wave of his hand.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
The thunderous crashes echoed around them as Leng Mo was forced back by Wang Han’s attack, while Wang Han’s sword qi was dissipated by the three fiendish dragons.
Seizing the gap as Leng Mo was knocked back, Wang Han knew this was a fleeting opportunity. He accelerated, aiming to break through the encirclement and escape.
However, he underestimated Leng Mo…
