Chapter 83 - A Grand Battle!
Exactly! Leng Yan’s plan was to erase the queen bee’s spiritual awareness, control its body, and indirectly command the remaining seventy to eighty thousand giant bees, thereby strengthening his swarm’s power.
Once he decided, Leng Yan swiftly drove the spirit-fixing needle into the queen bee’s brain once more and then sent his own spiritual awareness inside.
This time, Leng Yan didn’t dare to risk using his soul, as the queen bee had nearly broken through to the golden core realm, possessing a very strong soul.
If the queen bee’s soul was not severely injured, even Leng Yan’s body of belief, no matter how powerful, could be wounded.
As his spiritual awareness penetrated the queen bee’s mind, he observed that the queen bee’s soul was indeed very weakened. He quickly rushed in and devoured the queen bee’s consciousness.
Having taken over the queen bee’s body, Leng Yan immediately ordered the swarm outside to retreat and used a primordial spirit elixir and a healing elixir to heal the queen bee’s body.
Once everything was done, an entire hour had passed. Leng Yan stopped burning the primordial spirit elixir and instead enveloped himself in layers of concealment seals. He then sat on the queen bee, controlling it to fly out, gathering the outside swarm and merging it with his original swarm.
In the world of demonic beasts, it’s simple: “survival of the fittest.” Although the queen bee failed to advance, its power was still enough to suppress these giant bees.
The two swarms merged together, totaling a whopping 180,000, and they majestically headed towards the next giant bee territory.
Most giant bee territories have populations ranging from 100,000 to 120,000, but Leng Yan’s swarm had already reached 180,000, including two unification realm queen bees.
Sitting on the queen bee, Leng Yan couldn’t help but chuckle as he watched cultivators flee in fear.
However, Leng Yan didn’t deliberately chase these cultivators, as the priority now was to save Dongfang Caiyun’s life.
Upon reaching the giant bee territory, Leng Yan directly ordered an attack. The difference in numbers turned the battle into a one-sided massacre.
As the battle continued, Leng Yan noticed that within the swarm, some magical power realm and true essence realm giant bees advanced because they had devoured too many of their kind.
These giant bees, being of relatively low power, found it not too difficult to advance, requiring only a short time for successful progression.
This phenomenon delighted Leng Yan-the stronger the swarm, the less time needed to collect materials, increasing Dongfang Caiyun’s chances of survival!
Two Unification Realm giant bee queens ganging up on another of the same rank; the outcome was predictable without even watching.
However, controlling two giant bee queens simultaneously was taxing even for Leng Yan, whose soul was immensely powerful.
With a slight thought, an Asura hidden within the Void took possession of the weakened giant bee queen’s body at the moment Leng Yan had it vulnerable. This allowed Leng Yan to conserve his energy and simply issue commands.
After collecting the royal jelly and taking over the remaining swarm, Leng Yan’s army of giant bees expanded further, now boasting 230,000 giant bees and three Unification Realm giant bee queens. At this point, even if Sun Hao, Li Nan, and Wang Han attacked together, Leng Yan could eliminate them instantly. However, Leng Yan was currently in a rush to tend to Dongfang Caiyun.
As the day passed, by the time he obtained the ninth piece of royal jelly, Leng Yan commanded an army of 500,000 giant bees and possessed nine Unification Realm giant bee queens.
Among these nine giant bee queens, eight were controlled by Asuras, leaving only one under Leng Yan’s direct control, which considerably eased his burden.
The 500,000-strong swarm gathered together could only be described as blotting out the sky. Their buzzing was like spring thunder!
The last piece of royal jelly was now within reach!
Perched atop a giant bee queen, Leng Yan looked over the swarm in front of him, feeling a sense of overwhelming power. Behind him, the mighty roar of 500,000 giant bees, and ahead, the opposing 100,000 giant bees were already retreating, clearly outmatched.
“I am willing to join your forces, please do not harm my bees!” a voice suddenly transmitted to Leng Yan’s ears.
It was a sound transmission from the body of the giant bee queen in front of him, likely sent by its queen.
With a slight smile, Leng Yan responded using the language of the giant bees, through the body of his bee queen: “Surrender your royal jelly, and in addition, do two favors for me. Once they are done, you and your swarm may return!”
The queen bee hesitated for a moment before declaring, “Alright! I agree to your request! I will fetch the royal jelly right away.”
As Leng Yan watched the queen bee turn and fly into the beehive, it was somewhat moved. The queen bee was actually willing to part with its royal jelly, essential for preserving the giant bees within its swarm.
It is known that royal jelly is the life essence that a queen bee accumulates from birth. Upon reaching a certain realm, it can be used to mold a human form, achieving humanoid transformation.
Without the royal jelly, there would be no chance to coalesce into a human form. Therefore, most queens would rather die defending it, even if it meant letting all their giant bees perish, to safeguard the royal jelly.
While Leng Yan was lost in thought, the queen bee had returned with the royal jelly. Leng Yan immediately led nine Unification Realm queens forward. Should the queen bee try any tricks, the nine Unification Realm queens would be capable of killing it instantly.
Upon meeting, Leng Yan took the royal jelly and transmitted a message: “Follow me with your swarm. As long as you help me kill a poison dragon and a unicorn deer, you can return.”
The swarm of six hundred thousand bees stretched over more than ten miles, their buzzing noise frightening the demonic beasts on the ground into a frenetic scramble, as if doomsday had arrived.
After an hour of flight, Leng Yan returned above the swamp. Ahead lay the gray miasma zone.
He ordered all the giant bees to cease their buzzing and retreat several miles to hide. Leng Yan feared that the sight of six hundred thousand giant bees might terrify the poison dragon into hiding.
Once all the giant bees were concealed, Leng Yan took control of a Heavenly Realm poison bee and entered the space of the immortal land, hiding within its fluffy body.
“Bzzz!”
The Heavenly Realm poison bee, with Leng Yan aboard, flapped its wings and entered the miasma.
Upon entering, a green poison fog rose from the poison bee, enveloping it completely.
The poison fog clung to the giant bee’s body like a green garment. However, the strangest thing was that the gray miasma was repelled by the green poison fog, unable to get close!
Leng Yan’s expression was focused as he watched the surroundings, ready to escape at maximum speed the moment the poison dragon appeared, in order to lure it out.
Leng Yan headed toward the place where the poison dragon had previously appeared. Finding no trace of the creature now, he continued to control the giant bee to fly forward.
After about another thirty minutes, Leng Yan sensed a faint pressure in the air, indicating he had entered the poison dragon’s territory.
With a purposeful buzz, Leng Yan made the giant bee emit a humming sound to catch the poison dragon’s attention.
As expected, the surrounding miasma began to churn, signaling the poison dragon’s approach, ready to strike.
Leng Yan quickly turned the bee around and increased its speed dramatically.
“Roar!”
Seeing its prey about to escape, the poison dragon wouldn’t let it slip away. It roared and took flight, chasing closely behind.
The miasma swirled violently with the dragon’s movement. This poison dragon, possessing unification realm strength, was fast and quickly caught up. Leng Yan couldn’t confront it directly yet, but he could secretly set some small seals to slow it down.
The seals frustrated the dragon, prompting angry roars from its mouth.
Flying at high speed, Leng Yan reached the edge of the miasma in just fifteen minutes.
Bursting out from the miasma, Leng Yan intentionally slowed down to avoid making the poison dragon too cautious and abandoning the chase.
Sure enough, the dragon stopped as soon as it emerged from the miasma, growling lowly as it scanned the surroundings. It seemed aware that giant bees often traveled in swarms and was wary of a potential ambush, unwilling to leave the miasma entirely.
After surveying the area and finding no other giant bees, seeing the one under Leng Yan’s control moving so sluggishly, as if exhausted, it roared and pounced forward.
Seeing the poison dragon pursue, a sly smile spread across Leng Yan’s face as he carefully led the dragon further.
“Roar!”
The dragon lunged forward with its gaping, bloody maw, but Leng Yan deftly controlled the giant bee to narrowly evade its sharp teeth.
The more the dragon failed to catch its prey, the more determined it became, unknowingly falling into Leng Yan’s trap. Awaiting it was an onslaught of six hundred thousand giant bees!
