Master of Heaven and Earth - Chapter 100 - The Emergence of the Teleportation Formation
When the flames reached a certain temperature, Leng Yan hurriedly threw the materials into it one by one, turning them into liquid. An hour later, a fist-sized mass of jade-colored liquid was gently swirling in Leng Yan’s palm.
Seeing that the time was right, Leng Yan quickly extinguished the flames and spun the white liquid rapidly in his hands. In no time, it formed into the shape of a jade bottle.
This jade bottle was pure white and emitted a warm aura. Leng Yan bit his fingertip and used his blood to inscribe formations on the bottle. The first one he inscribed was the mustard seed formation, which could expand the internal space of the bottle to a few cubic meters, enough to store the stalactite liquid.
Leng Yan then proceeded to inscribe other formations, such as the golden shield formation and the spirit gathering formation…
Looking at the jade bottle in his palm, Leng Yan smiled slightly. He approached the deep pit, drew a mark with his finger, and softly commanded, “Absorb!”
The stalactite liquid was drawn by the bottle’s suction, flowing into it like water. Within a few minutes, it was almost finished. Leng Yan quickly stopped, then placed the Nine Sons Golden Lotus into the jade bottle, and collected the remaining stalactite liquid.
Holding the heavy jade bottle, and looking at the Nine Sons Golden Lotus emitting Golden Light, Leng Yan felt a surge of indescribable happiness. This bottle alone was worth billions of primordial spirit elixirs.
For a cultivator in the primordial qi realm, Leng Yan was undoubtedly a wealthy man. Even many who sought to defy the heavens and change fate might not have such wealth.
After storing the jade bottle in the immortal land’s storage space, Leng Yan lifted the seal and walked out of the cave.
Returning to the canyon, Leng Yan spread out his spiritual awareness, continuing to search for the teleportation formation…
In the canyon, Leng Yan had been searching for two days, but it was like a maze, winding and complex. Now, standing before three forks in the path, he contemplated briefly and then decided to send out three queen bees to scout the way, to avoid any trouble.
After granting concealment seals to each of the queen bees, he gave the command, and they swiftly vanished like lightning from Leng Yan’s view.
Leng Yan shared a soul connection with the three queen bees, known as Asuras, allowing him to use his spiritual awareness to see through their perspective.
After a series of winding turns, the first queen bee finally reached the end. At the end was a sheer cliff, with a cave halfway up. From inside the cave, waves of essence power could be sensed.
“Could it be in there?” Leng Yan wondered to himself.
He issued a command to the queen bee, instructing it to explore inside.
Receiving the order, the queen bee gently flapped its wings, trying to avoid causing strong air currents to avoid detection. After all, no one could guarantee whether the source of the essence power was a demonic beast or a teleportation formation.
The cave was very dark, and the queen bee flew slowly. After ten minutes, it finally neared the end. Through the vision of the queen bee, Leng Yan saw a pile of wood at the end, looking like a nest. The waves of essence power were emanating from this spot.
Leng Yan was now certain that this was the den of a demonic beast, not a teleportation formation. However, he was curious about what kind of demonic beast had its nest here. Suppressing his curiosity, he ordered the queen bee to return.
Meanwhile, another queen bee continued forward, encountering many small beasts but no teleportation formation. A short while later, it found an exit.
“Could the teleportation formation not be hidden here?” Leng Yan began to doubt his hypothesis, placing his last hope on the final path.
This particular branch was unique; upon entering, there was no wind, but as he continued deeper, strong winds began to appear, becoming stronger the further in he went. Eventually, the queen bee struggled to fly.
Leng Yan noticed the unusual nature of this place. He mounted his flying sword and shot into the sky like an arrow, gazing towards the canyon’s branches from thousands of feet high. All he could see was a sky full of yellow sand, obscuring the situation inside.
The force of the wind at its deepest point could certainly tear apart a cultivator in the unification realm. Leng Yan decisively summoned all three queen bees back, then Leng Yu skirted around from the side.
The strange, ferocious wind here was definitely not naturally occurring; it seemed more like it was created with magical techniques.
Leng Yan enveloped himself in protection and stood atop the cliff at the wind’s edge. The raging wind beneath his feet swept the sand wildly, like a giant dragon roaring, bellowing, and thrashing.
Leng Yan took out a flying sword, a low-grade spiritual weapon, and infused it with his spiritual awareness, making a hand seal. Under his control, the flying sword pierced into the raging wind.
The moment it entered, it was like a small boat entering a stormy sea, on the verge of capsizing at any moment.
Leng Yan exerted all his strength to stabilize the sword, preventing it from being swept away by the wind. In no time, he was drenched in sweat, as if fighting a fierce battle.
Finally, with Leng Yan’s relentless effort, he could see what lay below.
On the ground, a massive formation emitted a faint glow. Above, a large cave was carved into the stone wall.
From the cave entrance, Leng Yan could clearly see a large maw-the very source of the raging wind!
“A wind beast! How is that possible?” Leng Yan was filled with astonishment. Wind beasts were ancient mythical beasts, rumored to be extinct.
Stunned, Leng Yan quickly released his hold on the flying sword, not wanting to alarm this ancient beast. Who knew how powerful it was!
Without Leng Yan’s support of essence power, the flying sword, like a kite with a broken string, was torn to pieces by the wind, disappearing into the turbulent air.
“After all the hardships, I finally found the teleportation formation, only to have an ancient mythical beast guarding it. Should I leave and search for another formation elsewhere?” Leng Yan murmured as he looked down at the swirling sands.
“I wonder when this wind beast will calm down. Then I could conceal myself in the Immortal Land, activate the teleportation formation, and leave. Best not to provoke the wind beast.” Leng Yan decided to wait a few days for the winds to die down before attempting to activate the teleportation.
As he sat in meditation, three days swiftly passed. On that day, Leng Yan suddenly sensed a gentle breeze swirling around him. Raising his hand slightly, he could feel its warmth. Such a breeze on the edge of the storm was certainly unusual.
Sensing the breeze, Leng Yan felt as if he understood something. He spoke toward the raging winds below, “Senior, your intentions are well taken. This junior thanks you!”
After those words, Leng Yan closed his eyes again, letting his spiritual awareness extend and blend into the surrounding breeze.
The moment his spiritual awareness merged with the breeze, it enveloped him and whisked him away into the distance.
Leng Yan didn’t resist; he drifted along with the breeze. The wind carried him, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. When it was fast, rocks seemed to roll along with it; when slow, it was as gentle as a caress. Gradually, Leng Yan felt as though he became a part of the wind itself, sometimes swirling, sometimes drifting.
Ahead, a group of cultivators was entangled in a fight with a demonic beast. This beast, with the strength of the Heavenly Realm, was already gravely injured. The breeze entwined with Leng Yan, and a sudden idea struck him. He spread out his spiritual awareness abruptly, causing the wind to accelerate fiercely.
The gale roared like a tiger; a wind dragon materialized out of thin air and crashed directly into the demonic beast.
Struck as if by a hammer, the beast was sent flying dozens of meters and fell with a thud, now lifeless.
Leng Yan hadn’t expected that he could actually manipulate the wind to attack. Originally, he was just experimenting, but it worked.
This discovery delighted Leng Yan immensely. The freedom of the wind, its fierceness, its destructiveness-all these experiences culminated in a complex yet understandable concept in his mind.
“Wind and Cloud Technique! Could it really be that the wind beast is guiding my spiritual practice? I had only speculated, but to think it’s true. Yet, what is the wind beast’s purpose in doing this? Could it be part of Fang Rui’s scheme?” In the midst of his joy, Leng Yan couldn’t help but think of his lifelong adversary, the mysterious Fang Rui. Who exactly was he?
“Summon Wind!” Leng Yan gave a turn, and the wind intensified further, a black dragon materializing and roaring as it soared skyward towards Leng Yan’s location.
The black dragon vanished into the horizon, leaving only a lingering breeze. The group of cultivators remained frozen in their previous stances, shocked by the sudden apparition.
“Which Senior is here? Please show yourself!” one of the women called out, addressing the Void. But there was no Senior to be found!
As the black dragon flew, Leng Yan deepened his understanding of the Wind and Cloud Technique. When the black dragon returned to where Leng Yan was, it disappeared as his spiritual awareness dissipated, leaving only the howling wind.
Leng Yan retracted his spiritual awareness, stood up, and cupped his fists towards the wind beast’s direction, saying, “Senior, might I have the honor of meeting you?”
