Married to the Infertile CEO, I Got Morning Sickness - Chapter 12
When I came out of the restroom, I saw Huo Yanchuan waiting for me in the hallway.
As I approached, he reached out his hand to me and asked, “I just saw Yu Tang come out from inside. What did she say to you?”
I took out my phone and played the recording I had just made.
Yu Tang’s words to me played from the speaker.
The recording started from: “I forgot you’re a mute and can’t speak.”
Then, “If I hadn’t broken off the engagement with Huo Yanchuan back then, you wouldn’t have had the chance to marry into the Huo Family.”
Huo Yanchuan listened to the recording in silence, his face growing darker and darker.
He explained, “Back then, I was the one who refused the arranged marriage.”
“She’s not my white moonlight-you are.”
“From five years ago, the first time I saw you at the aquarium, I fell for you.”
“I know you have social anxiety, and I have my own flaws, so I could only watch you from afar.”
“My grandfather arranged our blind date not because he was close to your grandfather, but because he knew I’d had a crush on you for years. I was the one who asked to marry you.”
So, this was the truth all along?
All this time, I had misunderstood him.
When I first married into the Huo Family, I thought he didn’t like me and was indifferent to me.
In reality, it was because he liked me too much, but felt inferior because of his own flaws.
So, he didn’t dare cross the line.
I signed, “Then, what happened between you and Yu Tang at the aquarium?”
“The aquarium?” He thought for a moment and explained, “You mean that time abroad? It was a coincidence. She saw me with you at the aquarium, and while you went to the restroom, she came over and asked me to remove her from my blacklist. I refused.”
“Later, when I went shopping with you for baby supplies, she called me from an unknown number and begged me to get back together with her, or else she’d tell my grandfather about your pregnancy.”
“I argued with her because of this. Her threats don’t work on me.”
“I never dated her. At most, we were ordinary friends. Climbing trees was just for fun, picking wild fruit-not to fetch her kite.”
Rumors are truly terrifying-they can turn black into white.
I still had one more doubt in my heart. I took out my phone and scrolled to the photos Yu Tang and Jiang Qing had sent me.
One was a photo taken in the first-class cabin of a plane.
Huo Yanchuan explained, “Xia Wu wasn’t on that flight. That photo was secretly taken by the passenger sitting next to me, who happened to know Yu Tang and sent it to her.”
The second photo was in a café.
Huo Yanchuan shook his head. “I’ve never had coffee with her in a café. That photo is photoshopped. Jiang Qing and Yu Tang were college best friends-their intentions are obvious.”
So, Yu Tang had bribed Jiang Qing to sow discord between us.
He had confessed so much to me. It was time for me to be honest with him, too.
Just then, the old house’s butler came over and said, “Young Master, Young Mistress, Yu Tang is making a scene. The Old Master requests your presence in the banquet hall.”
Huo Yanchuan and I exchanged a glance and quickly walked toward the banquet hall.
