Chapter 43
Ji Ming’s Perspective (Part 6)
She couldn’t hear anything, yet she wanted to break up with me?
Why?
My mouth was faster than my brain.
Even though I knew she couldn’t speak, I still asked that question.
I truly deserved it.
She closed her eyes and drifted into a light sleep, and I gave myself an excuse: let her rest more.
Just an excuse, I can wait.
But then she told me not to come anymore.
I asked why again, and I really wanted to hit my mouth.
She said she didn’t want to see me.
That calm yet resolute statement was like a blade, deeply embedded in my chest.
She wants to break up, she doesn’t want to see me.
Why?
The night before the kidnapping, she was still smiling at me, so why did she look at me like this after waking up?
Countless “whys” stirred my unrest.
To find out why, I could only investigate the day of the kidnapping.
Something must have happened that day, or maybe my parents said something to her?
But now the clues are broken, I can’t find anything out, nor can I force her to reveal the truth.
Since she doesn’t want to see me, then I won’t go to see her.
But she sinks deeper into despair day by day, her complexion ashen, nearly withering.
When the psychologist did therapy with her, she hardly communicated.
I couldn’t bear it, so I let Ye Shuo go in to visit.
Sure enough, not long after, she showed a long-lost smile, and she didn’t look so gloomy anymore.
Ye Shuo came out with a face full of anger, seemingly wanting to say something, but in the end, he only told me that it was her matter, and he couldn’t say anything without her consent.
That was the first time I looked at this person properly, and he finally said something sensible.
Rather than letting him speak, it’s better to wait until she’s willing to open up herself.
I can wait.
Just because of Ye Shuo’s words, he and I became temporary allies.
She doesn’t want to see me, so I won’t bother her.
I let Ye Shuo visit her often and update her on the progress of the investigation, letting her know everything is being resolved orderly.
She was willing to listen to Ye Shuo.
I was very jealous, but I accepted it.
