Chapter 30
Gao Cai, along with Li Cheng, He Qiang, and Xia Li, were assigned to the Blue Team. They spent some time playing various games outside, but unfortunately, they didn’t manage to find any useful keys or map fragments. As they passed by the theater, Gao Cai suggested checking inside since it was a good place to hide things. The team agreed immediately and entered the theater.
Meanwhile, the Yellow Team, consisting of Jiang Wei, Zhao Xing, Han Lin, and Sun Yiyi, saw the Blue Team heading towards the theater and decided not to be outdone. They quickly followed, hoping to find something overlooked by the Blue Team.
Unfortunately, once they entered, they couldn’t get out.
Initially, everything was fine. He Qiang, Jiang Wei, Sun Yiyi, and Zhao Xing had plenty of hosting experience and were good at making the audience laugh. The guests were smart and responded well, making the recording lively and filled with laughter.
The first incident involved a photographer following Gao Cai. At the time, Gao Cai was alone, searching for keys in the theater’s backstage office. The photographer, walking behind him, suddenly collapsed, throwing his camera to the ground, startling Gao Cai!
Gao Cai turned around in panic and asked what happened and why the camera was dropped, worrying about it breaking and the inability to continue filming.
Approaching the photographer, Gao Cai received no response; the man just stared with lifeless eyes and started walking towards him, scaring Gao Cai immensely. Wondering if this was part of a prank-even though the camera was too expensive to just throw around-he felt the danger and instinctively ran away.
Even from afar, he could still see the photographer shakily chasing him, looking like a puppet.
Gao Cai didn’t understand what was happening and thought the photographer might have a hidden condition. His first reaction was to find the production team, but as he went outside, he realized things had gotten chaotic.
In the spacious theater lobby, about twenty men and women were wandering around stiffly, expressionless and lifeless, creating a terrifying and alarming sight.
Gao Cai recognized these people; they were all cheerful and talkative before suddenly turning into this state.
He forced himself to remain calm and carefully made his way to the theater’s main door, hoping to leave and find help.
…
At the theater’s main entrance, Gao Cai met a similarly panic-stricken Jiang Wei, Sun Yiyi, Han Lin, and Li Cheng, who were desperately banging on the doors and screaming for help. Unfortunately, the doors wouldn’t budge, making them feel as if they were cut off from the world, with freedom just a step away yet unreachable.
Han Lin and Sun Yiyi hugged each other and cried, “I don’t know what happened; they just changed suddenly, like Jiangshi. I thought we were going to be eaten…”
“What do we do? I don’t want to die; I want to go out; I want to go home!”
“What’s happening? Everything was fine, and then this happened; is this some kind of prank?”
Jiang Wei, being older, said gravely, “This isn’t a prank. Their behavior doesn’t resemble a prank at all; something must have happened. Let’s stay calm; the situation is unavoidable now, but we must think of a way out. Earlier, I found a phone while running and tried to contact someone outside, but it didn’t work.”
This only added to everyone’s despair.
Gao Cai said, “Now that the door won’t open and we can’t contact anyone outside, does anyone outside even know we’re in trouble?”
Jiang Wei replied, “They should know. If we don’t show up for a long time, the production team will definitely come looking for us, and they’ll find out something’s wrong and will try to rescue us.”
Han Lin cried, “The people inside are so scary; what if they suddenly attack us? There are only a few of us; we can’t fight them off; are we going to die here?”
Jiang Wei: “…”
Gao Cai: “…”
Sun Yiyi: “…Han Lin, don’t scare me.”
Han Lin: “We better find somewhere to hide soon; I’m scared, wuwuwu!”
Although Jiang Wei and Gao Cai also wanted to hide, the theater was only so big; there were dressing rooms backstage, but those doors were flimsy. If they were cornered there, the consequences would be unimaginable. Was there truly a safe place?
Gao Cai looked around and suddenly asked, “What about Zhao Xing, Xia Li, and He Qiang?”
Jiang Wei pulled Gao Cai a few steps inside; hiding behind a door, they saw Zhao Xing, Xia Li, and He Qiang walking unsteadily like Jiangshi, their faces devoid of life, as if their souls had been snatched away.
Gao Cai shuddered as goosebumps covered his skin.
“Have they caught some virus?”
“…Don’t know.”
They had been recording a show, chatting happily, when their expressions suddenly changed, and everyone stared with those lifeless eyes… The memory was still terrifying.
Fortunately, they were just wandering aimlessly without shouting or attacking; otherwise, Gao Cai didn’t know what they would have done. Yet, seeing his colleagues and friends transformed into this state was still deeply upsetting.
Gao Cai and Jiang Wei returned to the theater entrance.
Jiang Wei thought aloud, “This place isn’t safe; there’s nothing to hide behind. If something else happens, we’re too exposed; it’s dangerous here.”
Li Cheng said, “Yes, let’s find another place to hide and wait for rescue.”
Gao Cai suggested, “There are windows in the backstage dressing room; maybe we can try to get out through there?”
This idea brightened up everyone present. If the door wasn’t an option, perhaps the window was?
“Okay, let’s try that!”
“Alright, although those people look scary, they aren’t attacking. We’ll go around them, being careful to avoid them.”
Although the two women were scared, the thought of escaping through the window gave them hope, and they nodded, wiping their tears, indicating they would go together.
Their original plan was sound: carefully avoid the people, make their way to the backstage, find the dressing room, and open the window to escape. But they hadn’t anticipated that, just as they were carefully walking through the rows of seats, the people who had been moving obliviously suddenly sprung to life and charged straight at Gao Cai, Jiang Wei, Han Lin, Sun Yiyi, and Li Cheng!
People from all directions converged on them; their faces looked like hungry wolves eyeing fresh meat.
Zhao Xing, usually bubbly and cute, and He Qiang, who was like an older brother, were among these people, their expressions just as zombie-like, intensifying the horror.
Han Lin froze on the spot and fell to the ground, screaming, “Ahhhh-”
Gao Cai quickly pulled her up, half-carrying her forward, “Hurry, don’t look back!”
Sun Yiyi was also stunned; Jiang Wei grabbed her and ran, “Don’t just stand there, hurry!”
Sun Yiyi snapped out of it and followed in a panic.
…
Suddenly, someone appeared in front of them. The person grabbed Gao Cai’s arm with such force that it felt like the fingers were digging into his flesh. Gao Cai, enduring the pain, kicked the person away, but soon another attacked. Han Lin, terrified, flailed wildly with her beautifully manicured nails, screaming, “Get away, get away, all of you get away!”
Jiang Wei was also in trouble because the person blocking his way was his old acquaintance, He Qiang.
He Qiang, tall and muscular from his love of working out, had considerable strength. As he lunged forward recklessly, Jiang Wei almost saw his impending doom. Sun Yiyi, both afraid and panicked, kicked He Qiang below the belt without thinking…
Jiang Wei involuntarily crossed his legs, his face paling.
He Qiang’s body paused momentarily, his lifeless eyes briefly showing signs of clarity before fading again, resuming his charge towards Jiang Wei, Sun Yiyi, and the others, seemingly unable to feel pain.
Nearby, Gao Cai and Han Lin were also shocked to see these people’s state.
“What’s going on?!”
“They seem not to feel pain; why is that?”
“What’s happened to them…”
“Wake up, please wake up!”
Jiang Wei and Sun Yiyi turned even paler, realizing that if their opponents only knew how to attack without feeling pain, they were doomed.
Chaos reigned throughout the theater.
…
As they approached, the screams and cries from the theater grew clearer, indicating a dire situation. Gu Feiyin felt truly hindered by her inability to move freely; she couldn’t run swiftly anymore. She quickly had the Old Lady and Neighbor Miss carry her over, each supporting one of her arms, whisking her swiftly towards the theater.
When she arrived in the theater lobby, the place was in utter chaos. Gu Feiyin saw that the lobby was overwhelmed with Resentment Energy, a dark mass that was suffocating.
The Red-Dressed Ghost was nearly dumbfounded by the chaotic scene inside, exclaiming in surprise, “Are they invaded by Resentment Energy? Why are they fighting each other?”
The Headless Ghost remarked, “Not only are they invaded by Resentment Energy, but they are also being controlled by something.”
“Who would do this? They are taking a big risk; these are celebrities, and the death of any one of them would draw public attention, potentially attracting Taoists, Monks, and the Special Unit. We’ll have to be more careful when we go out; it’ll be chaos.”
“To control so many people at once, that ghost must be highly skilled.”
“What do we do about these people? Is there a way to calm them down?”
Gu Feiyin suggested, “Eat that ghost, or eat them.”
Red-Dressed Ghost: “…”
Headless Ghost: “…”
Neighbor Miss: “…”
Old Lady: “…”
Gu Feiyin declared, “Then I’ll go ahead.”
It was clear that these people were being controlled, made to fight each other! The bloodier and more violent, the better. Once they were blinded by rage, with only the last survivor remaining, the mastermind would emerge. Not only would they consume the souls of those who died in fear, but they would also devour the last living person, flesh and blood included.
Those controlled had lost control over their bodies, but their consciousness remained, because only then would they feel anger and fear, making their souls even more delicious after death.
This was an extremely bloody and vicious cultivation method. Gu Feiyin had encountered it before; after consuming it, not even a rat dared to nest in her pit anymore, proving quite useful.
Gao Cai, Jiang Wei, and Li Cheng retreated to the staircase leading to the second floor. Behind them were Han Lin and Sun Yiyi. Han Lin had been knocked out during a scuffle, and Sun Yiyi was dragging her back. In front of them were twenty or so expressionless attackers, relentlessly charging up the stairs. Even when pushed down, they would get up and charge again, seemingly tireless.
Fortunately, the staircase was sturdy and narrow, allowing only two people to walk side by side, which eased their pressure considerably.
The situation was perilous. Gao Cai and the others were injured, the faint scent of blood lingered in the air, and their strength was nearly exhausted. They were utterly fatigued and deeply despairing.
No one was coming to rescue them, and they were powerless to save themselves…
In the eyes of their fans, they were invincible, but faced with harsh reality, they were fragile and vulnerable.
Jiang Wei, who had been composed, couldn’t help but shout with reddened eyes, “He Qiang! Brother! Please wake up! Look at what you’re doing; you’ll regret it!”
Sun Yiyi also cried out, “Zhao Xing, why have you become like this? Wake up!”
Gao Cai, with a determined look, said, “Stay strong. It’s been a while; people outside must have realized something’s wrong. Once they come in, we’ll all be saved.”
Li Cheng replied, “…I’m afraid we won’t last that long.”
Gao Cai: “…”
Gao Cai felt a pang of despair, uncertain of how long he could hold on.
He scanned the theater again, searching for a breakthrough. Suddenly, he spotted a Long-haired Woman in a white dress.
She appeared out of nowhere, walking slowly from the other side of the theater with an eerie gait. Her pale face was expressionless, and her dark eyes fixed on him. Gao Cai felt a chill run down his spine; her sudden appearance was unsettling. No, everything about her was unsettling…
“Look, who is that?”
Jiang Wei and Li Cheng turned to look, equally startled.
Then, something even stranger happened. The Long-haired Woman stopped behind the twenty or so people, licked her lips, and her dark eyes gleamed with intense greed. She tilted her head back, took a deep breath-
Sun Yiyi saw the Long-haired Woman and rubbed her eyes, panicking, “What is she doing?”
It was as if she had smelled something delicious.
Not only Sun Yiyi, but Gao Cai, Li Cheng, and Jiang Wei also felt a growing fear. What was she doing?
In such a terrifying situation, her bizarre behavior was alarming. Gao Cai tried to stay calm, but his voice trembled, “Who are you? What are you doing?”
The Long-haired Woman smirked and said, “I’m eating.”
Gao Cai: “…??!”
…Eating? Eating what? How could she eat without opening her mouth?
Suddenly, there was a thud as the first controlled person collapsed.
Thud, thud! He Qiang and Zhao Xing also fell.
Thud, thud, thud! One after another, people collapsed. In an instant, those who had been tirelessly attacking were now all down? They lay motionless on the ground, lifeless, like corpses…
…Down? Why did they suddenly fall?
Everyone: “…………”
Gao Cai and the others felt a chill run through them. They stared at the Long-haired Woman, teeth chattering, throats dry, trembling, unable to utter a word.
Sun Yiyi watched the Long-haired Woman lick her lips, saying ominously, “Will you come down, or should I come up?”
…Down? Up? What did she mean? Were they to choose between going down to meet their fate or letting her come up to kill them?
Sun Yiyi glanced at the bodies scattered around and couldn’t take the overwhelming shock anymore. Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
Jiang Wei looked at the unconscious Sun Yiyi at his feet and felt a twinge of envy. If he fainted, he wouldn’t have to face this terrifying Long-haired Woman…
Li Cheng swallowed hard, trembling all over, his feet rooted to the spot.
They watched the Long-haired Woman below, her eyes scanning them, hearts pounding.
…
Gao Cai looked at the others behind him, clenched his fists, and cautiously said, “I’ll… come down.”
The Long-haired Woman stared at him, “Alright.”
Gao Cai took a deep breath and started down. Jiang Wei grabbed him, shaking his head, “Don’t go.”
Li Cheng added, “Don’t go, it’s too dangerous.”
Gao Cai replied, “Should we wait for her to come up?”
Jiang Wei: “…”
Li Cheng: “…”
Gao Cai said, “I’ll go distract her. You find a chance to take Yiyi and Han Lin and run.”
Jiang Wei and Li Cheng watched as Gao Cai stepped over the bodies on the stairs, moving toward the Long-haired Woman. They couldn’t help but tense up, fearing they might witness Gao Cai’s demise at any moment!
As Gao Cai stood before the Long-haired Woman, he felt the air grow colder. The closer he got, the more he could see the eerie emptiness in her dark eyes, making him instinctively afraid. Sweat soaked his clothes.
Was he really going to die here today?
His heart raced, face pale, breath and heartbeat erratic…
Gao Cai said, “You… ah!”
He was about to speak when the Long-haired Woman reached out, her expression twisted, grabbing at his head. He instinctively tried to resist, but found his limbs bound, like wrapped in a long whip. His arms hung limply, unable to move.
His head throbbed painfully, as if something was splitting from his mind!
The Long-haired Woman grabbed at his head, pulling out a black, misty substance. As it emerged, Gao Cai collapsed, falling to the ground.
Jiang Wei and Li Cheng, not far away, were horrified. What was that?!
The black mist in the Long-haired Woman’s hand seemed alive, struggling to escape. It swelled, enveloping the theater in a dense black mist, pressing down on the Long-haired Woman, trying to consume her.
But the mist had no effect on her. Instead, the humans felt a heavy weight pressing them down, lying helplessly on the ground…
The mist carried a nauseating stench of blood, the air thick and suffocating.
Gao Cai lay on the ground, breathing heavily, shocked, “What… what is this thing, why was it inside me?”
He couldn’t comprehend the situation, only seeing the Long-haired Woman clutching the mist tightly. Hearing his question, she glanced back, smirking, “It was hiding in the body of the lady guest lying on the ground earlier, watching the show. When you came down, it hid in your body, wanting to eat me.”
Gao Cai swallowed hard: “…”
Long-haired Woman: “Hehe, don’t be afraid, I’ve caught it.”
Gao Cai: “…”
He was dumbfounded, watching the Long-haired Woman clutch the mist, which struggled in her grip, its appearance bizarre and unsettling, yet oddly amusing.
Finally, she seemed to tire of it, turned away, opened her mouth, and stuffed the mist inside!
Everyone: “…?!!!”
Though they couldn’t see, they heard a crisp crunch…
Crunch, crunch, crunch-
The sound of chewing echoed in the quiet space, piercing their minds, impossible to shake off.
Gao Cai felt his scalp tingle, Jiang Wei and Li Cheng shivered, lying on the ground, eyes vacant, cold sweat pouring.
As the chewing continued, the mist grew more agitated. Finally, a sharp male voice emerged from the mist, “Stop, stop! You ignorant human, stop eating me!”
In his decades as a ghost, he had never suffered such a setback. Ordinary ghosts and Taoists dared not challenge him, yet this Long-haired Woman had caught him? Not only caught his body but was eating him? He had always been the eater, never the eaten!
He had merely come to the city for a snack after a nap in the mountains. Though the world had changed rapidly, skyscrapers dazzling his eyes, it didn’t affect his appetite. Besides, he was hiding in the theater; it was these humans who intruded, wasn’t he allowed to eat?
“Stop! I’ll kill you!”
The mist in the Long-haired Woman’s hand morphed into a leg! A man’s form became faintly visible, struggling wildly, the surrounding mist swirling, the stench of blood intensifying!
But the Long-haired Woman remained unaffected, eating faster, swallowing whole without chewing, stuffing it into her mouth.
The misty man couldn’t reclaim his leg, his fingers clawed at the Long-haired Woman’s head, ready to tear it apart! But she didn’t dodge, punching his belly repeatedly, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud…
Dozens of blows scattered the mist’s power, even his soul seemed to loosen.
“Ah-” The misty man screamed, piercingly loud, Jiang Wei and Li Cheng couldn’t withstand the shock, fainting.
Gao Cai lay on the ground, eyes wide, reflexively staring at the Long-haired Woman.
She chewed on a leg, noticing his gaze, her eyes bloody and eerie.
Gao Cai’s legs twitched, finally fainting.
…
The Red-Dressed Ghost retracted her whip, twitching at the sight of the unconscious people, then glanced at the munching Long Black Straight Hair, and the Jumping Sister and Old Lady hiding in the corner. The Headless Ghost rarely felt his soul shaken, “I think I’ll leave now.”
“Crunch, crunch… Alright, thank you. Would you like some?”
“No, no need…”
The Headless Ghost vanished like smoke.
The Red-Dressed Ghost shrank back, joining the Jumping Sister and Old Lady, finally feeling somewhat safe.
The Red-Dressed Ghost watched as the Long Black Straight Hair finished eating the ghost, burped, and approached, offering three fingers, “Here, have some.”
Neighbor Miss: “…”
Old Lady: “…”
Red-Dressed Ghost: “…”
She seemed to sense the ghost’s presence from the Long Black Straight Hair.
…
Ren Kun, Yuan Gaoming, He Kang, and Ma Ao sprinted to the entrance of the Amusement Park in City A, where they saw a crowd gathered outside. Several security guards stood at the gate, and the group felt a surge of relief as they rushed forward, asking, “Are you human?”
The guards, seeing Ren Kun and Yuan Gaoming, immediately broke into smiles, seemingly oblivious to the oddity of the question. They quickly reassured, “Don’t worry, the police are on their way. Everything will be fine.”
Ren Kun and the others exchanged puzzled glances. “Police?”
It was then they realized that the disappearance of the program crew was due to everyone heading to the Theater.
Something had gone wrong at the Theater!
For reasons unknown, the Theater’s doors had suddenly become unopenable, and there was no news from inside. The surveillance cameras showed nothing but darkness. No one knew what was happening inside. The program crew and the amusement park were on edge, having already called the police, just waiting for them to arrive.
Ren Kun turned to Yuan Gaoming and the others, asking, “What do you think happened?”
Yuan Gaoming shivered slightly, “…Ghost?”
Ma Ao added, “…That ghost seemed to head towards the Theater.”
He Kang hesitated, “…Could it be?”
Ren Kun declared, “I’m going back to see what’s really going on. I’ve known He Qiang and the others for over ten years; I can’t rest easy if I just leave. What about you guys?”
Yuan Gaoming looked at Ma Ao and then at He Kang, “I’ll go back too.”
Ma Ao nodded, “…I’ll go with you.”
He Kang agreed, “Let’s go together.”
The four who had just escaped to the entrance now turned back, faces filled with confusion and fear of the unknown.
When they arrived at the Theater, several police cars had also entered the amusement park. The arrival of the police caused a stir among the fans waiting outside, who began speculating wildly about what had happened inside. Why were the police here? Had something happened to their idols?
Before long, news of the incident during the filming of “Winner Takes All” at the Amusement Park in City A spread online, complete with pictures and evidence, detailed and convincing. Panic-stricken fans flooded the official Weibo of the “Winner Takes All” program group, demanding an explanation. Some even began to pray, hoping their idols were safe. With criminals rampant, even Sudi had been kidnapped and nearly lost his life. What else could happen?
The police had already grasped the general situation. They suspected the Theater had been illegally infiltrated and that the people inside were being held hostage, which explained why the doors wouldn’t open and there was no news from inside.
Upon hearing this, the program group’s leader turned pale with fear. Everyone inside was precious, and there were so many celebrities. Even a minor injury would be unacceptable. If something really happened, could they afford it?
“Please, you must ensure their safety!” The leader seemed to age decades in an instant, tears nearly falling.
Due to the severity and malicious nature of the incident, the police chief personally intervened. Wearing his uniform, he assured, “Rest assured, it is our duty to protect the hostages.”
Standing nearby, Ren Kun, Yuan Gaoming, Ma Ao, and He Kang couldn’t shake a sense of foreboding. Staring at the Theater looming in the darkness, they felt as if layers of black mist were emanating from it, creating an oppressive and terrifying atmosphere, as if something dreadful lurked inside…
…Was it a ghost?
Only a ghost could silently harm so many people. If it were humans, controlling twenty or thirty people, especially with He Qiang’s skills in taekwondo and martial arts, wouldn’t be easy. There should have been some noise…
It was all too bizarre.
Ren Kun considered whether to invite Master Zhang, who was skilled at dealing with ghosts. He stroked his chin and nudged Yuan Gaoming, “If we say there are ghosts, will they believe us?”
Yuan Gaoming replied, “They’ll say we’re crazy?”
He Kang suggested, “We should have recorded when we went to the haunted house. If we show them the footage, they’ll definitely believe us.”
Ma Ao hesitated, “…But I have a bad feeling.”
He hugged his arms tightly, feeling that tonight’s events had exceeded his understanding. He glanced at the sky, wondering why, in a scientific society, ghosts-so unscientific-could exist?
…Wait, was there something flying in the sky???
–It was a woman, eerily curled up, her long hair swirling wildly in the wind as she floated by.
He smelled blood.
Ma Ao leaned closer to He Kang, “Look, am I seeing things again?”
He Kang, puzzled, followed Ma Ao’s gaze to the sky, his legs going weak, “…It should be a kite.”
“What’s wrong?” Yuan Gaoming also looked up, his voice freezing, “…I’m sure it’s a kite!”
Ren Kun exclaimed, “Why fly a kite at night… Ah, flying a kite at night is perfect!”
Ma Ao: “…”
He Kang: “…………”
Yuan Gaoming: “…………”
Ren Kun: “………………”
Help!!!
Ren Kun, Ma Ao, Yuan Gaoming, and He Kang huddled in a corner, smoking, feeling low. Their faces were pale, occasionally glancing back in terror, only relaxing when they confirmed nothing was behind them. Their paranoid demeanor was frightening.
Meanwhile, the rescue operation continued. Unable to push open the front door and fearing too much noise might alert the enemy, the police planned to break in from the back of the Theater. They were fully armed and ready.
As everyone remained tense, the Theater’s main door suddenly creaked open from the inside. The suddenness caused those waiting outside to step back, and the police drew their guns, aiming at the door!
Gao Cai: “…”
Gao Cai hadn’t expected to escape death, and upon finally emerging, he was greeted by the sight of gun barrels. Strangely, he felt no fear or tension, calmly raising his hands, “I’m Gao Cai.”
Behind him, Jiang Wei and Li Cheng carried He Qiang, poking their heads out. Seeing the scene, they remained calm, even cracking a smile, “I’m Jiang Wei, this is Li Cheng, and we’re carrying He Qiang. We’re not bad guys.”
Li Cheng raised a hand, and He Qiang lifted his eyelids, indicating he was still alive.
Behind them were Han Lin, Sun Yiyi, Zhao Xing… and the staff. Everyone was there, not a single person missing. Though they had cuts and bruises, looking quite battered, their spirits seemed low, and their faces were too pale. But they were alive, with no fatal injuries.
The leader of the “Winner Takes All” program group was so relieved he cried, and the agents and assistants of the artists rushed up, fussing over them, “It’s good that you’re okay, we were scared to death!”
Yet, the situation was fraught with oddities. The police chief, relying on his years of experience, wagered that the incident was far from simple. He stepped forward, “What happened to you? What exactly happened?”
Gao Cai chuckled, still shaken, “It was terrifying; we almost died. But someone saved us.”
“Saved? Who saved you? Where is that person? And where are the ones who kidnapped you?”
“…” This was tricky to explain. Gao Cai, Jiang Wei, and Li Cheng exchanged glances, “A Long-haired Woman saved us.”
Could they say they were kidnapped by a ghost, and that the ghost was eaten by someone?
Gu Feiyin, having had a hearty meal, was overjoyed. After this feast, she wouldn’t need to eat tomorrow, saving money-a perfect outcome.
Except for her dentures being taken…
Three hundred yuan, a full three hundred yuan. Losing those dentures meant either buying a new set or getting ceramic teeth, both costly options. She couldn’t just let it go.
So when she was notified of an early dismissal, she couldn’t help but approach the kind boss, “My dentures were taken. Could you ask the guest to return them?”
Kind boss: “…Cough???”
The crisis was finally resolved, and the injured were sent to the hospital for check-ups. The lucky ones, Ren Kun, Yuan Gaoming, Ma Ao, and He Kang, started demanding evidence from the program group. They reviewed the footage, planning to use it to invite a Taoist to catch the ghost. Thus, they clearly saw themselves being chased by the Long-haired Female Ghost, fleeing in terror…
Watching it again, they could feel the danger of the moment.
They insisted it was a ghost, but the director group stubbornly claimed it was a person. Did they think they were fools? Would they believe it?
Ren Kun argued, “She was definitely a ghost; she was floating in the air. How could she return?”
Ma Ao, shrinking his neck, said, “She really was a ghost. We later saw her leave the haunted house, floating in the amusement park, flying in the sky!”
He Kang added gravely, “I saw it too; she definitely had issues.”
“Yeah, she was definitely a ghost. I saw it with my own eyes! I thought she was going to eat me, so I pulled the curtain to block her. Her face was ice-cold, like a corpse, and she kept chasing, saying ‘give it back, give it back’…” Yuan Gaoming shivered, “I’m still scared thinking about it.”
The program group chuckled, “You took the girl’s dentures; can’t she ask for them back?”
Yuan Gaoming: “…???”
