His Wedding Countdown, My Death Countdown - Chapter 25
I might indeed be unlucky.
The doctor said I could live for another six months.
But after just two months, my body suddenly gave out.
The day after Qin Yuan and I rode elephants.
I couldn’t get out of bed.
Even though we agreed not to seek treatment.
Qin Yuan still took me to the hospital with red eyes.
She panicked.
I spent some time in the emergency room.
When I came out, I saw Qin Yuan with eyes red from crying.
She cursed.
“You scared the hell out of me.”
She trembled as she reached for a cigarette, then realized she was in the hospital and gave up.
In the hospital room.
We looked at each other for a while and then laughed.
How complicated people are.
Two women who thought they were carefree and ready to face death with a smile, yet when death truly approached, they hesitated.
No one can truly be carefree.
But neither can we defy fate.
Qin Yuan touched the trumpet creeper on my collarbone, clearly smiling, yet tears kept falling.
“This is my last work.”
“You’re taking it away so soon, you bastard.”
“Well,” she laughed, “the one who leaves first doesn’t have to worry. Don’t worry, I’ll take your ashes back and bury them behind grandma’s grave.”
Qin Yuan tucked my stray hair behind my ear.
“Let you reunite, okay?”
“And.”
“Wait for me down there, we’ll reincarnate together.”
