He Gave Me a Ring, I Gave Him a Prison Sentence - Chapter 29
When Zhou Heng woke up, I was sitting by the sofa reading the weekly newspaper.
He stared at me without blinking, and I had no idea how long he’d been watching.
I put away my phone and walked over to adjust the height of his bedside.
“Congratulations, you have a son now.”
He tried to reach for my hand, but I stepped back half a pace and sat down again in the companion chair.
“Zhu Wanwan was discharged two days ago. The child is still in the incubator, the secretary has already gone to pick him up.”
He frowned, as if he didn’t quite understand.
Although the doctor said not to overstimulate a patient who’s just woken up.
But I couldn’t help myself.
I leaned back in the chair, watching as the secretary pushed open the door, carrying the swaddled baby, step by step drawing closer.
My voice was as light as a ghost’s:
“Zhu Wanwan set her sights on you as early as the middle of last year.”
“Killing Louis wasn’t enough for her.”
The secretary finally approached. He glanced at me, then, as if resigned to death, gently placed the baby into Zhou Heng’s waiting arms.
I got up and straightened the edge of the baby’s hat.
With my fingertips, I gently pulled back the hood, revealing his entire face.
Then, I turned and stared at Zhou Heng:
“Now, she’s killed your son too.”
Zhou Heng stared at the child in his arms, showing no reaction.
Blue eyes.
Sparse hair.
A low nose bridge.
Where is there even a trace of his genes?
