Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 76
Meng Loudi defeated Luo Yun in less than three seconds. He snapped the woman’s sword, and with a ghostly aura, easily broke her leg. Mr. Ghost stood on the deck, looking at the woman with a cold smile, “You don’t remember which leg you broke of Chenyi’s? Might as well break them both.”
With his words, Luo Yun’s legs were both broken. It hurt, but she bit her lip hard, not letting out a single groan. Meng Loudi looked at her, “Break her arms too.”
This time, she let out a cry of pain. Fortunately, Meng Loudi’s actions were swift and precise, causing no unnecessary injuries. It wasn’t that Mr. Ghost didn’t want to torture her, but he simply wasn’t in the mood for it now.
The terrified ordinary people on the ship were made to faint by Meng Loudi. Holding a steaming bowl of wontons, he hurried below deck. “Chenyi? Chenyi, where are you?!”
No response came. Meng Loudi was anxious, carefully searching. Mr. Ghost extended his senses, searching, and found the person he was looking for in the lowest cabin.
The lowest cabin was dark, cramped, and damp. It was no place for his Chenyi. Mr. Ghost rushed down, finding the young man gasping for breath. Jiang Chenyi was now drenched in cold sweat, his skin flushed red, his breathing heavy.
Meng Loudi’s expression changed instantly. He dropped the bowl of wontons, rushed over, and lifted his beloved, saying, “Chenyi, Chenyi, what’s wrong?”
He pressed his forehead against the young man’s, feeling the intense heat. “Caught a cold, Chenyi? Wait, I’ll take you back. Don’t worry, everything will be fine, really.” He couldn’t tell if he was comforting his lover or himself.
His heart ached, tears almost escaping. Taking deep breaths, he concealed all signs of distress. Mr. Ghost picked up the young man, carrying him upwards, leaving the bowl of wontons abandoned in the cabin.
The phone rang. Mr. Ghost paused, propping the young man up, protecting him with one hand, and answered the call. “Yeah, I’ll send you the location. It’s fine, I’ve found him. Hurry over, bring a doctor, there’s more to handle.” The man spoke coldly.
Hanging up, he kissed the young man’s forehead, looking at the scar on his left hand. His heart skipped a beat. “Damn it,” he muttered, cradling him like a child, heading upwards.
Jiang Chenyi swayed, feeling the coolness beneath him. He managed to open his eyes, reaching out to touch the swaying black hair beside him, “Loudi?”
“It’s me, Chenyi. Everything’s okay now, be good.” The man tightened his grip, his voice gentle, but his eyes were a fierce red.
One by one, they wouldn’t escape. Whether it was the Luo Family or the Liu Family, he would strip them of their power.
Hearing the familiar voice, Jiang Chenyi’s long-tense nerves finally relaxed. He reached out, loosely wrapping his arm around the other’s neck. “Mm.” His voice carried a hint of grievance.
The two stepped onto the deck. Luo Yun understood now, everything was set in stone. Unless someone helped her now, there was no turning back.
Jiang Chenyi had already fainted, and Mr. Ghost protected him as he walked over to the woman with a blank expression, stepping on her left hand and grinding it harshly.
Luo Yun furrowed her brows, biting her lip to suppress a scream.
Truly vicious.
The thought crossed her mind.
Meng Loudi looked at the woman’s grim expression, his face icy cold.
“Just wait, this is only the beginning.”
Luo Yun lifted her eyelids, giving him a cold glance, her lips curling as blood spread, “No matter how miserable I become next, what’s done is done, Meng Loudi, you’ve lost.”
The nightmare she had given Jiang Chenyi.
Meng Loudi couldn’t erase it.
Even if what awaited her was endless hell, what difference would it make?
“No need to worry.” Mr. Ghost stomped harder.
Luo Yun felt the sharp pain in her palm, realizing that she would never be able to wield a sword with this hand again.
The hand was ruined, even with future treatment, its dexterity would be greatly reduced.
It hurt, but it was bearable.
Or perhaps she was starting to protect herself.
She looked at the person in Meng Loudi’s arms and laughed, “I hate people like you the most.”
After saying this, she closed her eyes.
Meng Loudi had no intention of tormenting an enemy who wouldn’t beg or scream.
He lifted his foot and walked towards the deck.
Just wait a little longer, very soon someone would arrive.
The doctor would come, and Chenyi would be alright.
Meng Loudi sat on the dirty deck, holding Jiang Chenyi tightly, surrounded by the smell of fish.
He looked at the young man in his arms, who had become much more haggard, and held him tightly, burying his head in his neck.
“Chenyi, my Chenyi…”
Mr. Ghost’s tears fell, dampening the other’s skin.
I’m truly sorry for finding you so late.
I’m sorry for not protecting you.
I was wrong, Chenyi, you may not forgive me, but you must be alright.
Bai Lu and the others were efficient; in less than ten minutes, an airship arrived with several people.
Bai Lu, Qing Sui, and a middle-aged man with a slightly frightened expression.
Bai Lu grabbed the man, bringing him up, looking at the elegantly dressed Mr. Chief sitting on the ground and the chief’s wife with a terrible complexion.
Bai Lu’s usually reserved and refined face turned pale.
“Quick, quick! Give Young Master Jiang emergency treatment!” Bai Lu commanded.
The doctor nodded, jogging to the pair, lifting eyelids, checking the tongue, and feeling the head, “I’ll give him a fever-reducing shot first; for formal treatment, please go to the hospital!”
Qing Sui carried the woman who seemed lifeless.
Meng Loudi nodded, “Hurry.”
The doctor wiped the cold sweat from his face and gave the young man a shot.
Then, Meng Loudi jumped onto the airship with the young man in his arms.
The doctor watched the feat that no ordinary person could accomplish, wiping the cold sweat from his face.
He didn’t ask for much, just to survive.
Heavens knew, he had just been dragged from the hospital, and then that man had flown him directly!
Really flown!
And then that seemingly frail young man turned into a big bird, carrying the airship flying!
Otherwise, how could they have arrived at such a distant place so quickly!
Please, don’t kill him, he won’t tell anyone, really!
The doctor trembled as Bai Lu dragged him onto the airship, and then Qing Sui transformed into his original form. With ease, his small frame lifted the airship, soaring over the sea at a speed that made one question their own eyes.
Meng Loudi protected his beloved. “Is everything set at the hospital?”
“Yes, Brownish is handling it. We’re heading straight to H City; there’s a great hospital there that can definitely treat Young Master Jiang,” Bai Lu replied, wiping his sweat and glancing at the woman lying nearby. “And Luo Yun…”
“Throw her into the water dungeon,” Mr. Ghost’s eyes were filled with gloom.
“Uh… there doesn’t seem to be such a thing as a water dungeon anymore,” Bai Lu chuckled awkwardly.
Mr. Ghost cast a light glance at him. “Can’t you build one? You know what kind of water dungeon I mean, right? A tiny window, just big enough to glimpse the outside world, with the lower half submerged in water. Water filled with fish, bugs, rats, and there should be snakes too, you know?”
His eyes glowed crimson.
Bai Lu suddenly remembered what kind of person this chief had been in life.
“Yes!” he responded immediately.
Whatever the request, they would fulfill it unconditionally!
Mr. Ghost ignored him, clutching the young man’s hand and kissing his palm.
“Chenyi, let’s go home.”
Jiang Chenyi furrowed his brow, then relaxed, leaning dependently against the man’s embrace.
The farce was finally over.
Luo Yun was captured, and Jiang Chenyi was found.
The Luo Family breathed a sigh of relief, yet couldn’t help but blame their own eccentric genius for her impulsive actions.
Women, truly driven by emotion, acting recklessly!
The Luo Family was no longer what it was a century ago. This time, they had no choice but to comply with the eighth chief, or they might face their downfall in this era.
Liu Juncai also breathed a sigh of relief. Though they weren’t particularly afraid, who knew what a ghost gone mad might do?
They had seen demons go berserk.
But ghosts, by nature, were different from demons.
No one dared to gamble.
He stood at home, putting down his phone, while a calico cat squatted at his feet, meowing softly.
“Meow meow!”
“Xiao Hua, what’s daddy doing?” Liu Juncai crouched down, petting the little cat.
Xiao Hua rubbed against his palm, meowing earnestly.
“Still drawing?” Liu Juncai stroked his chin. “Have I scheduled too much?”
His beloved cat hadn’t had much time to be close to him lately.
The man walked upstairs, opened the door to the study, and peeked inside. “Sweetheart, what are you up to?”
Luo Hui, with a headband pushing back his curls, revealed his smooth forehead.
He held an electronic pen, sketching on a drawing tablet, and said, “Work.”
His voice was cold and indifferent.
Liu Juncai was long accustomed to this, walked over, and took away his drawing tablet, earning a glare from the other.
“Tsk, drawing for that person again? Can’t my sweetheart spare some attention for me? We haven’t been close for a while.” The man leaned against the desk, approached Luo Hui, and gently twirled his hair, saying softly, “Hmm-I miss Luo Hui, does Luo Hui miss me~”
The cat demon frowned and said, “No. I haven’t finished yet.”
“Can’t you spare an hour or two for me?” Liu Juncai ignored him, lifted his chin, and kissed him.
“You!”
“So obedient~”
Xiao Hua sat at the door, watching them with innocent big eyes.
An orange cat passed by, grabbed Xiao Hua by the neck, and took it away.
“Meow meow?” What’s happening?
“Meow.” Don’t look at inappropriate things.
“Meow?” Hmm?
Jiang Chenyi opened his eyes and looked upward.
Good, it wasn’t that pitch-black ceiling anymore; it was a plain white one.
“Chenyi, you’re finally awake.” The man’s cold fingers reached over, resting on the young man’s forehead.
“That’s good, no more fever.” Mr. Ghost breathed a sigh of relief.
“Loudi…” Jiang’s eyes welled up with tears, looking pitifully at the beautiful face before him.
“Don’t cry, don’t cry, Chenyi, I’m here.” Mr. Ghost gently raised his bed so the young man could sit up slightly.
Jiang Chenyi’s hands and legs still ached, with a tight feeling around his legs and wrists, as if wrapped in cling film-breathless and taut.
He looked at his left hand, which was in a cast.
Was it broken?
But that wasn’t the issue now.
Now Meng Loudi sat before him, looking worried.
