Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 22
“What should we do next?” Jiang Chenyi asked, licking his ice cream. “How about checking out some of the popular spots around here?”
“Sure, whatever you say,” Mr. Ghost replied with a smile.
As they walked forward, a man dressed in white suddenly appeared ahead of them. He wore a white casual suit and abruptly stopped in his tracks.
This was a young man with dyed hair, streaks of white running through his otherwise black locks. He was quite handsome, with fair skin and a charming face. His eyes, reminiscent of peach blossoms, sparkled with a roguish charm, giving him a flirtatious aura that even the serious suit couldn’t suppress.
The young man glanced at the couple walking hand in hand and cleared his throat softly.
Jiang didn’t notice the man and continued walking with Mr. Ghost. “I think this place looks pretty nice. Shall we check it out?”
Meng Loudi’s gaze was fixed solely on Jiang. “Sure.”
The young man quickly stepped forward, blocking their path. “Wait a minute!”
“Do you need something?” Jiang turned to look at him.
After a quick glance, Jiang was sure this flamboyantly dressed man was not someone he knew.
“Of course, I want to ask if you know Luo Hui.”
Meng Loudi scrutinized the man, asking, “Are you here to catch him?”
The man’s aura felt somewhat similar to that of Luo Yun.
Liu Juncai waved his hand dismissively. “No, no, no, I’m not.”
He smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I’m little Gray’s sidepiece.”
Jiang: “…”
How could someone say so proudly that they’re a sidepiece?
Wait a minute?!
The cat demon’s sidepiece?!
Mr. Ghost shielded Jiang, eyeing the carefree young man. “Is that cat yours?”
“Yes, isn’t he beautiful? I’ve been taking good care of him,” Liu Juncai boasted.
But his demeanor made Jiang Chenyi feel uneasy.
It was as if Luo Hui was merely a plaything he kept, rather than a “sidepiece.”
“So what do you want now?” Jiang Chenyi asked, observing him.
The young man felt a bit disoriented, unsure whether to approach with friendliness or hostility.
“I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Liu Juncai. Nice to meet you,” the young man said with a smile. “I want little Gray to come home with me. It’s not very safe out here, especially with that woman around.”
“Then why don’t you come back with us?” Jiang lowered his gaze. This person seemed to know quite a bit, and perhaps he could ensure Luo Hui’s safety.
If Luo Hui was willing to go with this man, then let him. They could enjoy their time here and then return home.
“Great!” the young man agreed cheerfully.
The three of them retraced their steps back to the rented guesthouse.
Luo Hui was working, and upon hearing the door open, he didn’t even look up. “Why are you back so early?”
Then he suddenly raised his head, ears popping out, tail bristling as he looked behind them.
That familiar face appeared before him.
Liu Juncai.
It’s him…
Luo Hui bit his lip, remaining silent.
Liu Juncai gazed at his little runaway cat, eyes filled with warmth and tenderness. Had he lost weight? Had he not been taking care of himself? Honestly, without him, things just weren’t right.
Jiang sensed the atmosphere was off, looking at the two of them. “Uh, we ran into him. This Mr. Liu says he’s your…”
“Paramour,” Meng Loudi interjected, expressionless.
Jiang’s mind went blank for a moment.
He couldn’t understand why his man seemed a bit fiery.
Mr. Ghost held Jiang’s wrist, preventing him from leaving, then turned to Luo Hui. “Is it true? If you don’t want to go, we’ll kick him out.”
“No.” The cat demon shook his head, sighed, and said, “He is indeed my paramour. Well, since he’s found me, we should leave. Thank you, Chenyi and Mr. Meng, for your care. Until we meet again.”
The cat demon smiled, revealing sharp little teeth, and naturally began packing his things.
The other three cats didn’t dare make a sound, cautiously gathering their belongings.
Then Jiang watched as Luo Hui packed up, walked over to Liu Juncai, and said, “Let’s go.”
Jiang: “Luo Hui.”
The cat demon turned, smiled indifferently, and said, “It’s alright. Thank you for taking care of me all this time. If you ever need anything, you can try to find me. Goodbye.”
From his words, it seemed like they might not be able to find him in the future.
Jiang Chenyi: “Well… goodbye.”
Then Liu Juncai took him away.
The door closed, leaving the room in silence.
Jiang stood there, staring at the wooden door, as if trying to see what was happening outside.
Meng Loudi hugged him from behind, burying his head in Jiang’s neck, staying quietly.
“I don’t think Luo Hui went willingly,” Jiang said.
Mr. Ghost chuckled softly, asking, “How do you know?”
“It feels… strange. I think Luo Hui is afraid of that man,” Jiang asserted.
He felt that Luo Hui was indeed scared.
He hadn’t expected Liu Juncai to find him, which was why he was startled when he sensed him.
But Luo Hui didn’t ask for help; he compromised.
Back when facing Luo Yun, he had asked them for help.
Now, why not?
Meng Loudi picked Jiang up, carrying him back to the bedroom.
“So what do you think? Do you want to rescue him?” Mr. Ghost whispered in Jiang’s ear.
Jiang let Mr. Ghost carry him.
“No, I don’t know. I think maybe Luo Hui has his own reasons, but when he looked at that man, there was no hatred in his eyes,” Jiang murmured as he was placed on the bed.
“Hate? Probably not. Didn’t he say? They’re paramours,” Mr. Ghost chuckled, his voice seductive. “That Liu guy misses him terribly.”
“Huh?” Jiang was startled, looking at Meng Loudi.
He felt that things were developing in an unexpected direction.
Mr. Ghost knelt over him, gazing into Jiang’s clear eyes, as if something heavy was about to spill out.
“Chenyi, I want you.”
The deep male voice said.
Jiang blushed, stammering, “Saying such things in broad daylight isn’t… isn’t right.”
“I want you.” Mr. Ghost lowered his head, his nose brushing against Jiang’s, the sound resonating from his chest, filled with suppressed desire.
And so, Jiang was left dazed.
When it was all over, Jiang looked at the bite mark on his wrist, feeling a bit bewildered.
His ghostly partner had just sucked blood.
Really, he had sucked blood.
While Jiang was seduced by beauty, this dog man had bitten Jiang’s wrist, drawing blood.
Jiang felt a bit hurt, wanting to cry.
Meng Loudi, satisfied, held his lover, watching him look at his wrist with a pitiful expression. He gently rubbed the now scabbing wrist, murmuring, “Chenyi, I couldn’t help it. I’m sorry.”
“Whimper, whimper, you dog man, why did you bite me!” Jiang pouted, glaring at Meng Loudi.
Mr. Ghost smiled broadly, showing no remorse.
He kissed Jiang’s cheek, sighing softly, “They distracted you. You kept looking at them, and I wasn’t happy. Not happy at all. I want Chenyi, I want Chenyi to be all mine. Chenyi, can you? Can you be completely mine?”
Jiang’s face went blank.
How to put it…
He felt that his man seemed to be heading in a rather alarming direction.
This feeling wasn’t very pleasant.
So the young man reached out, pushing Mr. Ghost’s face away, saying, “No way. If I’m completely yours, I think I’ll starve.”
His ghostly partner’s words just now meant he wanted to completely possess him!
Why hadn’t he noticed before?
This man actually had such a twisted thought?!
Clearly, he was a virtuous and gentle homebody ghost.
Meng Loudi held his hand, planting a gentle kiss on his palm.
He calmly said, “I can take care of you.”
“How? By working part-time for ten yuan an hour?” Jiang rolled his eyes.
Mr. Ghost was instantly deflated.
He felt that the script for a domineering CEO imprisoning his lover couldn’t continue, since he wasn’t a CEO.
So he switched gears, his dark eyes filling with a watery hue as he looked at Jiang.
The beauty cried softly, pitifully saying, “But I don’t want you to like anyone else.”
“What?” Jiang was baffled.
Tears slid down the beauty’s cheeks as he looked at Jiang Chenyi, pitifully saying, “The way you looked at Luo Hui, do you like him?”
Meng Loudi was determined that if his lover dared to say he liked him, he would chop that damn cat demon to pieces.
Jiang Chenyi: “Who do I like?”
“Luo Hui.”
“Why would I like him?! I clearly like Xiao Huang more! Luo Hui doesn’t even let me pet him!” Jiang was incredulous.
What kind of brain did his ghostly partner have?!
How did he come to the conclusion that Jiang liked Luo Hui?!
Meng Loudi looked at Jiang’s innocent face, seeing genuine shock.
Good.
Mr. Ghost silently put down the metaphorical knife in his heart.
Jiang looked at the man’s melancholic face, pondering, and realized it must be something like this.
“That’s a look of liking.”
Mr. Ghost picked up the knife again.
Jiang smirked, “I like all cats and dogs. It’s not the same as liking you.”
Mr. Ghost put the knife down again.
Meng Loudi looked at his lover’s silly face, suddenly remembering something, “You once said I was like a golden retriever. Isn’t that a dog?”
The feeling of liking him and liking Luo Hui was different, but Chenyi had previously said he was like a dog.
If logic was correct.
Chenyi’s liking for him and Luo Hui was the same.
Mr. Ghost’s gaze became dangerous again.
Jiang Chenyi: “When did I say that? I don’t remember.”
The petty Mr. Ghost remembered everything between them clearly, but Meng Loudi didn’t want Jiang to feel he was being petty, so he cleverly changed the subject.
“Then tell me, what’s the difference?”
Jiang thought for a moment, looking at him. “I like them in a way that makes me want to hug and lift them up, but liking Loudi is wanting to sleep together, do things together, and always be together. I love Loudi.”
The young man reached out, hooking his arm around the man’s neck, kissing his chin.
“Do you understand this kind of liking?”
He smiled, showing a mouthful of white teeth, looking very endearing.
So Mr. Ghost tenderly doted on Jiang.
