Chapter 15
A week passed quickly.
Zhao Yue had already moved out of Lu He’s house, and Lu He hadn’t come to see me at home again on purpose.
Only occasionally, when Shen Xianzhi and I came back from grocery shopping, we would happen to see him in the community garden we had to pass through.
As for whether it was really a coincidence…
I didn’t want to think about it anymore.
On Friday, Shen Xianzhi said it wasn’t good to stay at home all the time and wanted to take me out for some exercise.
When we arrived, I realized that his so-called exercise was bungee jumping.
Looking at him, I could pretty much guess why he brought me here.
The staff quickly helped us with a series of safety measures and instructed us on some professional bungee jumping moves.
“Are you scared?” Shen Xianzhi asked.
I smiled, “No.”
The moment I jumped, my mind went completely blank, and my heart seemed to stop beating.
Those people and things I thought were so important, those obsessions I thought I could never let go of in my life, all vanished with my screams and shouts.
At that moment, the only thing clear in my mind was Shen Xianzhi’s gentle, encouraging smile in the second I jumped.
It was already nine o’clock at night when we got home.
After washing up, I lay on the bed, picked up my phone, and called the agent to say I wasn’t moving anymore. As compensation, I didn’t ask him to refund the deposit.
Then I sent Shen Xianzhi a WeChat message and told him about it.
Not long after, I heard a knock at the door.
When I opened it, Shen Xianzhi was quietly looking at me.
He must have just showered; his hair and eyes were still wet.
After a while, his Adam’s apple moved, and his voice was a little hoarse, “Have you thought it through?”
I looked at him, knowing he was asking about what I said last time-considering being with him.
“Mm, I’ve thought it through.”
Shen Xianzhi asked in a low voice, “Then you and Lu He…”
I replied firmly, “There won’t be anything between me and him ever again.”
He smiled, as if remembering something, and said seriously, “That won’t do.”
I was stunned for a moment, then realized what he meant and couldn’t help but laugh.
Alright then.
Aunt-in-law it is.
