Falling for the Best Man, A Second Chance at Love - Chapter 25
The wedding was held at Lijing Hotel.
A hundred tables were set for friends and family, making the event grand and extravagant.
Far more elaborate than the small wedding we had back then.
Gu Huaichen really spared no expense.
Sheng Moyang held my hand and led me to the table reserved for the groom’s friends.
As soon as I sat down, the faces of the men at the table, all of whom looked familiar, changed drastically.
The man sitting to Sheng Moyang’s left was named Lin Yecheng.
He pulled Sheng Moyang aside and lowered his voice:
“What’s going on between you two?”
Sheng Moyang’s lips curved into a lazy smile as he replied nonchalantly:
“Didn’t you guys tell me to bring a plus-one?”
The man took a sharp breath.
“Shit… So the person you’ve been dating all this time is her? If you two start fighting later, whose side am I supposed to take?”
The bride and groom came over to toast.
The moment Gu Huaichen saw the two of us, the smile froze on his lips.
His dark gaze moved from our intertwined hands to the faint kiss mark on my neck.
The grip on his wine glass tightened more and more.
The atmosphere at the table seemed to freeze.
Ye Kelin stood beside me, her voice low as she questioned, “Shen Xian, what are you trying to do?”
I smiled lightly. “My best friend is getting married. Of course, I have to come and offer my congratulations.”
She glanced nervously at Gu Huaichen.
But his gaze remained fixed on me.
She bit her lip and discreetly tugged at Gu Huaichen’s hand, but he didn’t respond.
Sheng Moyang leaned back lazily in his chair, his thumb gently stroking the back of my hand.
He showed no intention of holding back.
Gu Huaichen’s face grew darker and darker.
Ye Kelin’s expression turned awkward, but with all the guests present, she couldn’t afford to lose her composure.
Finally, Gu Huaichen couldn’t hold it in any longer.
He smashed the wine glass in his hand on the spot.
The glass shattered, and the entire room erupted in chaos.
