I usually avoid going out with Sheng Moyang, afraid of running into someone I know.

But today, for some reason, he insisted on dragging me out for a meal.

And he even openly held my hand.

As I lifted my gaze, I caught sight of a familiar figure inside a maternity and baby store-Gu Huaichen.

Instinctively, I let go of Sheng Moyang’s hand.

“Just had a meal, discussing a potential collaboration.”

I had received numerous offers after resigning, including one from Sheng Moyang’s company.

Though I had politely declined them all.

So, technically, what he said wasn’t entirely untrue.

Gu Huaichen chuckled lightly at his words.

“Isn’t it your birthday today? Still working so hard?”

I froze for a moment.

Quickly, I glanced at Sheng Moyang.

He took me out for a meal today… to celebrate his birthday?

Sheng Moyang shrugged.

“I’m just a lone wolf. What’s there to celebrate about a birthday?”

As he finished speaking, his gaze swept playfully over the shopping bag from the maternity store in Ye Kelin’s hand.

“Bro, you just got divorced, and now you’re already in a maternity store?”

Gu Huaichen’s face stiffened awkwardly for a moment.

“Ahem… Don’t talk nonsense.”

Ye Kelin quickly explained, “It’s not for us. It’s a postpartum gift for a friend.”

My eyes shifted to her abdomen.

The slight swell of her belly didn’t seem quite right.
