Chapter 11
Ever since Zhou Shuang found out that I reported Gu Ze’s company,
she became like a radar, constantly tracking the movements of Gu Ze and Su Qing, afraid to miss any good drama.
Gu Ze’s company’s accounts were a mess, naturally unable to withstand scrutiny.
After a round of back taxes, late fees, and fines, the financing deal vanished into thin air.
This hit Gu Ze hard; let alone going public, even keeping the company running became a struggle.
Not only that, due to the cash shortage, Gu Ze’s production line was forced to halt. He couldn’t recover the remaining payments and was now facing massive compensation claims.
Left with no choice, Gu Ze started selling off his properties and cars to pay off debts. Bankruptcy came overnight.
The most devastated was Su Qing.
She had thought that, after pushing me out, she would become a wealthy lady, enjoying a life of luxury.
But who could have expected Gu Ze to suddenly go bankrupt?
Not only did the dream wedding and that ten-carat diamond ring disappear, Su Qing didn’t even have a place to stay. She couldn’t accept moving from a luxury apartment to a rental flat, and began to argue with Gu Ze frequently, threatening to break up.
After that, Su Qing resolutely aborted the child she was carrying, and didn’t forget to sweep away what little assets Gu Ze had left.
By the time Gu Ze heard from her again, Su Qing had already climbed into the bed of a boss in his fifties.
How could Gu Ze swallow this? He flew into a rage and went straight to confront Su Qing.
Facing a penniless Gu Ze, Su Qing glared coldly, showing none of her former gentleness.
“If I don’t get rid of it, am I supposed to give birth to it? Can you even afford to raise a child? Why should I, at my age, tie myself to your dead tree and wait to rot?”
The sweeter they once were, the uglier the fallout became.
When Gu Ze’s mother learned that Su Qing had aborted the baby and latched onto someone else, she had to take several fast-acting heart pills before she finally calmed down.
When Zhou Shuang vividly described all this to me, I could only sigh.
“In the end, true love can’t stand up to a few pieces of silver.” After that, I never wasted another thought on them.
