Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 41 - Xiao Ran's Interrogation
“Alright, Miss Wang has introduced herself. I believe everyone has a basic understanding of her, so Miss Wang, please take your seat.”
Miss Wang scanned the room with her beautiful eyes and found that there was only one empty seat in the entire class. Next to it sat a boy with a faint, somewhat roguish smile, but his eyes were clear and devoid of any disrespect.
As she gracefully moved to her seat, her elegant figure complemented her tight jeans, accentuating her impressive curves. Miss Wang nodded slightly as she took the seat next to Tang Jie.
This action caused Tang Jie’s heart to stir. “What a delightful beauty she is, displaying different charms in various postures. Interesting, interesting!”
Tang Jie couldn’t take his eyes off Miss Wang, and this behavior was noticed by Chen Shuran, who sat behind him. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, she raised her delicate foot and gave him a kick.
Caught off guard, Tang Jie nearly fell. However, being an ancient martial arts master, he reacted quickly and avoided embarrassment. He gave Chen Shuran a fierce glare but remained silent, though internally he was fuming, “Little girl, you dared to embarrass me. Next time if a thug harasses you, let’s see if I save you.”
Chen Shuran didn’t care at all. With her head tilted, she let out a humph, her exquisite face full of smugness.
Miss Wang observed the playful exchange between the two and found it amusing, though her face remained calm, as if nothing could pique her interest.
The small incident didn’t draw anyone else’s attention, as the beautiful teacher had already started the class. Everyone was listening attentively. Even students who were usually inattentive in other classes seemed focused; whether they were truly listening or just there to admire the beauty was anyone’s guess.
However, what Tang Jie didn’t know was that the earlier scene was noticed by another person in the class, who occasionally cast vicious glances his way.
The time with the beautiful teacher always seemed to fly by, and it was soon time for the class to end. As Jin Yan left the classroom, the males in the class sprang into action once again. Tang Jie’s seat was quickly surrounded by a group of them, though they were not there for him. Miss Wang was undoubtedly the star of the day.
“Miss Wang, are you free today? Would you like to go to the library together?”
“Miss Wang, a new restaurant opened near the school. I hear the food is great. How about we try it together?”
“Miss Wang…”
“Miss Wang…”
The classroom was filled with all kinds of lame excuses as every guy wanted the beauty’s attention.
Miss Wang, the protagonist of the moment, maintained a graceful smile, skillfully and courteously turning down each invitation without making anyone feel awkward. This surprised Tang Jie, as such poise was rare, highlighting Miss Wang’s remarkable qualities.
As the school beauty, Chen Shuran didn’t pay attention to this commotion. She was more focused on Tang Jie’s behavior. An inner voice kept telling her not to let Tang Jie develop feelings for Miss Wang.
“Tang Jie, come with me, I have something to say to you.” It wasn’t Chen Shuran who spoke, but her close friend Xiao Ran. In her mind, Chen Shuran liked Tang Jie, and they were a couple. The sudden appearance of someone like Miss Wang, who was equally attractive and charming, with Tang Jie seemingly interested in her, gave Xiao Ran a sense of crisis. As Chen Shuran’s close friend, Xiao Ran felt obliged to do something for her.
Although Tang Jie didn’t understand why Xiao Ran was calling him, he followed her out. Chen Shuran, feeling even more puzzled, quietly followed them.
Xiao Ran led the way to the school’s back mountain, a place not frequently visited and perfect for conversation.
“Miss Xiao Ran, why did you call me here?” Not waiting for Xiao Ran to speak, Tang Jie asked first.
“Tang Jie, what’s your relationship with Miss Wang? Are you planning to play both sides? Where does that leave Shuran-Jie?” Xiao Ran stared at Tang Jie and fired off a series of questions, her face clearly expressing her disdain for what she perceived as disloyalty.
Tang Jie was left dumbfounded by her questions, staring at her with no idea what to say.
Xiao Ran was convinced she was right, that Tang Jie had fallen for Wang Qianya. Her face was full of anger. “Tang Jie, have you ever even liked Shuran-Jie? How can you flirt with Wang Qianya right in front of her? Are you even human? I knew men were no good.”
Hiding not far away, Chen Shuran felt a headache coming on as she listened to Xiao Ran. What was Xiao Ran doing, saying those things in front of Tang Jie? Who said that I, liked him anyway? She wanted to rush out and stop Xiao Ran, but her feet felt like they were weighed down with lead. A voice inside her told her to hold back, and she found herself curious to hear Tang Jie’s response.
“Stop! Miss Xiao Ran, what nonsense are you talking about? I’m not two-timing anyone. Wang Qianya and I are just ordinary friends, and the same goes for Miss Chen. This is all a huge misunderstanding.” Tang Jie quickly interrupted Xiao Ran. He couldn’t deny that Chen Shuran was a great beauty, but she was currently under his protection in a professional capacity, and developing feelings wasn’t allowed according to the code of conduct for someone in his line of work as a hired bodyguard.
Before Xiao Ran could respond, Chen Shuran, unable to take it any longer, felt her heart fill with unexplainable frustration.
“Xiao Ran, stop talking!” Chen Shuran had emerged from her hiding place and jogged over, her eyes slightly red and her chest heaving.
It was only then that Xiao Ran and Tang Jie realized Chen Shuran had followed them and had heard everything.
“Shuran-Jie, why are you here?”
“Xiao Ran, let’s go, we’re not listening to him.” Chen Shuran gave Tang Jie a hard look before dragging Xiao Ran back toward the classroom. After a few steps, she stopped, turning back to glare at Tang Jie.
Suddenly, she ran back towards him, shoving the unsuspecting Tang Jie to the ground. “Tang Jie! You jerk!”
With that, she turned, dragging the equally indignant Xiao Ran away with her.
“Wow! What just happened? What did I do to deserve this? Two crazy women, unbelievable.” Tang Jie got up, brushed the grass and dust off his clothes, and slowly made his way back to the classroom, all the while thinking of how to get closer to Wang Qianya.
