Chapter 9
Chapter 9
I had been “pursuing” Jiang Yilin for nearly three years.
Initially, my plan was to introduce him to suitable girls his own age. I wanted to set him up with someone else.
But the bullet comments were a constant reminder that Jiang Yilin was no saint.
He was extreme and cold-blooded; I didn’t dare drag an innocent girl into his orbit. Besides, getting close to him was hard enough as it was. Trying to play matchmaker for him would only make things exponentially more difficult.
So, I eventually decided to “pursue” him myself.
As long as he didn’t end up with the female lead-as long as he didn’t fight my brother for her or get jealous over her-it didn’t matter who was by his side.
If I actually managed to win him over, I could keep a close eye on him at all times to prevent him from hurting my brother.
But Jiang Yilin was incredibly difficult to move. I had spent nearly three years currying favor with him, spanning almost my entire time in secondary school, yet he remained completely indifferent.
That’s why I never expected that, despite my reputation, someone would actually approach me and confess their feelings.
Physical education classes in the final year of high school were exceptionally precious. I was stunned when I found myself cornered under the shade of a tree, watching a shy boy offer me a bouquet of flowers.
He mumbled something about wishing me luck on the college entrance exams and asked if there was a possibility for us after graduation.
I opened my mouth, about to turn him down, when I suddenly heard two soft chuckles from behind me.
The voice was familiar, but the laugh was strange.
Subconsciously, I turned my head toward the shadows where Jiang Yilin was emerging. Those two chuckles felt like a hallucination; Jiang Yilin had already reverted to his usual expressionless, cold demeanor.
He walked straight up to my side and looked down at the blushing boy in front of us.
“Scram,” he said. “Don’t make me say it twice.”
The pressure of senior year was high for everyone. Having been interrupted, the boy in front of me grew angry as well. “What’s it to you? You’re stringing her along without giving her an answer, and now you won’t let anyone else confess?”
He glared aggressively at Jiang Yilin. “You’re the one who should scram.”
Jiang Yilin slowly and methodically cracked his neck. He usually presented himself as a calm, elegant, top-tier student. Because of that, neither the boy nor I expected his first move after straightening his neck to be a sudden, violent punch directly to the other boy’s face.
Caught off guard, the boy rolled on the ground in pain. The moment he recovered, he and Jiang Yilin were locked in a brawl.
The boy looked like an athlete with clearly defined muscles, but Jiang Yilin, who usually kept a low profile, was able to completely overpower him.
He was hitting him so hard that I couldn’t even pull them apart.
Fortunately, the grade dean, who was on high-intensity patrol, stumbled upon us.
The dean exploded. I exploded. And the bullet comments exploded too-
[Exactly, this is the male lead. He’s a calm lunatic.]
[Once he decides something belongs to him, no one else is allowed to even look at it.]
[He’s like a lion in the wild, fiercely possessive of what’s his.]
[But who the hell is he being possessive of right now?!]
[He hasn’t even started university yet, right? He hasn’t even met the female lead yet!]
[Who is he fighting for? Who is he going crazy for?]
[Is this right?]
[This isn’t right!]
[How the hell is any of this right?!]
