Chapter 34
The people in the ward fell silent in the face of his livid expression.
Wei Lian stammered as he tried to explain that he had suddenly entered his heat period on set, the situation was urgent, and the temporary mark was arranged by the director, carried out in front of the entire crew.
Gu Haochen punched him before he could finish.
The scene turned extremely ugly. Former childhood friends, one Alpha, one Omega, tearing each other apart over a man-no matter who heard about it, it would be a joke.
Wei Lian lost control and roared, “You hit me? You hit me because of him? You never even hit me for Du Chutang!”
I pulled Gu Haochen into my arms. “Haochen!”
He shuddered at my call, his eyes red as he looked at me.
I sighed. “Don’t make a scene. There’s nothing improper between Lianlian and me.”
“Nothing improper?” Gu Haochen retorted, then burst into tears.
He raised his phone, and a voice with electric interference came from it.
Wei Lian: “Why don’t we give it a try?”
Me: “Try what?”
Wei Lian: “Our pheromones are very compatible, why not solve it together? Don’t worry, I only see you as a good brother. Anyway, Haochen is almost eight months now, doing anything with you would hurt his health.”
Then came my laughter.
In this recording, I neither agreed nor refused.
Everyone was stunned. I pushed Gu Haochen away, glaring at him in anger. “You were eavesdropping on me?”
Gu Haochen neither confirmed nor denied it.
“Where did you put the bug?”
I looked down and saw the watch Gu Haochen always personally put on me before I returned to Xiangshan, and fury surged up. I took off the watch and smashed it hard on the ground.
Glass shards flew, and Gu Haochen stepped back half a step.
“I wasn’t doubting you…” he mumbled, “I just thought he might do something. He’s always been like this before…”
Wei Lian seized on this and jumped up. “What do you think I would do! I’m the one engaged to you! If you didn’t mess around every day, how could I possibly be with anyone else?”
Gu Haochen was shocked, afraid I’d be upset hearing the word “engagement,” and hurried to explain, “That was when we were kids, just something our families joked about.”
“Bastard!” Wei Lian cursed. “Why didn’t you say that when you were flirting with me, huh? Is it because others are easy to bully? Is Du Chutang easy to bully?”
Gu Haochen’s face changed dramatically. “How dare you mention Tangtang! You killed him!”
Wei Lian was furious and threw a pillow at him.
“No! It was you!”
Wei Lian screamed hoarsely, “Everything you’re suffering now already happened to Du Chutang, and now it’s happening to you too!”
Gu Haochen was struck like by lightning, his lips frozen.
He trembled as he turned his head, looking at my expression, reaching out to try to grab me.
I brushed his hand away, showing a weary expression. “I never thought you were this kind of person, Gu Haochen. You’ve disappointed me too much.”
Gu Haochen’s body shook. The last trace of color drained from his face, as if he would shatter at any moment.
Does it hurt?
This is the ending I prepared.
“Let’s get divorced after you get the inheritance.” I delivered my final line. “After the child is born, I’ll pay you child support every month.”
Gu Haochen was struck like by lightning, staggered two steps, and collapsed onto the chair behind him.
His face was ashen, gasping rapidly, clutching his chest as if he couldn’t breathe, tears falling, his shoulders shaking like a sieve.
“No, no, Zhizhu… you can’t…”
I turned to leave the ward, when suddenly a cry of alarm rang out behind me.
“Blood!”
I turned back and saw that Gu Haochen had already fainted, blood soaking through between his legs.
The scene before my eyes awakened my memories. I froze for a moment, then immediately rushed over to pick him up and dashed toward the emergency room.
“Doctor! Doctor!”
