Chapter 24
For three whole days, we tore at each other like trapped beasts, tangled together.
Our pheromones collided in the air, and even the scent leaking out from the crack under the door was enough to make people keep their distance. No one dared to open the door; food and water were placed by the doorway. It wasn’t until the fourth day, when I woke from hunger, that I left Gu Haochen to replenish our over-exhausted bodies with some nutrients.
Gu Haochen only regained consciousness after I gave him water. His first reaction was to try to escape, but in his panic, he fell off the bed and twisted his thigh.

He was pregnant.
I accompanied him to the hospital for a checkup. When we got the report, he was first bewildered, then let out a long sigh, as if resigning himself.
“I never thought…” He lowered his head, letting me hold him in my arms. “I actually came out of Tangtang’s world in this way.”
I gazed gently at the pale nape of his neck, lowered my head, and kissed the slightly reddened tip of his ear.
