Chapter 7
Wang Xuan looked at Gu Xuchen with tears in her eyes. When she inadvertently saw me standing to the side, her expression instantly turned cold.
But.
She didn’t get a chance to speak before Tan Bai pulled her into the car, his gaze unconsciously drifting toward me.
“Why are you here?”
Gu Xuchen was clearly a bit surprised to see me.
Seeing that he didn’t look well, I strolled over slowly. Instead of cheerfully saying I missed you, I lowered my voice and said:
“I wanted to see you.”
Gu Xuchen was slightly stunned. He glanced around and softened his tone: “Don’t say things like that in public.”
I looked up at him and grinned, leaning in to hug him. But once again, he blocked my head, so I could only hug his arm from behind.
Gu Xuchen didn’t push my hand away, but he didn’t seem very natural about it either.
It was just like a young couple walking around the school track, always on guard for the sudden appearance of the dean.
I have to say.
No wonder so many people dislike long-distance relationships. Now that I’m meeting Gu Xuchen again, I feel like he’s even more guarded around me, so much so that I can only force myself to hold on, waiting for his attitude to soften.
Luckily, the hotel staff was very much to my liking and said there was only one room left.
This time, Gu Xuchen and I finally stayed in the same room.
“No talking while eating or sleeping.”
As soon as we started eating, Gu Xuchen reminded me first, probably afraid I’d take advantage of him like last time.
“Okay, I’ll listen to my husband.”
Gu Xuchen: …
I replied happily, because taking advantage verbally didn’t mean much today. What I was really looking forward to was bedtime.
After my shower,
I conveniently washed my underwear and left it on the rack in the bathroom. When Gu Xuchen opened the door, he was clearly stunned for two seconds.
I pretended not to notice and lay on the bed watching TV.
Click.
As the door closed, I heard the sound of the lock turning.
“Tsk.”
I couldn’t help but mutter, but when I heard the sound of running water, I couldn’t resist glancing a few more times at the glass door.
Probably from the very first moment I met Gu Xuchen, I’d thought about growing old with him, even planning where our graves would be in the future.
And now.
Finally being together, I felt that all the hardships I’d endured before were worth it.
Now I have money, a house, a car, and him. Maybe in the future, we’ll even have a little baby.
As I thought about it, I hugged my pillow and giggled foolishly, rolling over before I noticed Gu Xuchen had already finished his shower.
“What are you doing?”
Gu Xuchen raised his eyebrows.
The white bathrobe looked a bit short on him, revealing his muscular, long legs.
My gaze drifted as I burrowed under the covers, patting the spot next to me:
“Waiting for you to sleep together. Come on~”
Gu Xuchen leaned down, slowly approaching.
I blinked, feeling a little happy, but I didn’t expect him to pick up a blanket and head straight for the sofa, lying down as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Me: …
“Gu Xuchen…”
I was a bit frustrated.
Gu Xuchen closed his eyes and didn’t say a word for a long time.
When the light went out, the room was plunged into darkness. I looked at the person on the sofa and quietly closed my eyes.
