Chapter 7
In an instant, the air seemed to freeze.
Jiang Yao was completely rigid, pinned by his sharp, menacing gaze.
She screamed in her mind, “System, quick, make him forget! I need to replace Fu Liuchuan’s memories of tonight!”
“A friendly reminder, Host. Most of your points were used to clean up the traces when you killed Fu Liuliu.” The System replied. “These are your last ten points. Are you sure you want to use them?”
“Yes!” Jiang Yao said without hesitation.
The next second, Fu Liuchuan’s eyes went blank.
As if he hadn’t seen Jiang Yao at all, he turned and walked into the bedroom.
…
When Fu Liuchuan woke up, he stared into space for a long time.
A torrent of emotions flowed through his eyes before settling into a cold emptiness.
I watched as he picked up his phone and called Jiang Yao.
“About last night… I’m sorry. I was drunk.” Fu Liuchuan paused, then continued, “Let’s meet and talk.”
After hanging up, Fu Liuchuan stood and walked out the door.
He met Jiang Yao at the coffee shop downstairs from the Fu Group headquarters.
I finally understood what she had replaced my brother’s memories with-
“Mr. Fu, I was going to leave after I dropped you off, but you suddenly lunged at me and held me… I-I couldn’t get away…” Jiang Yao stammered, the tips of her ears turning bright red.
The System praised her, “Host, your acting is superb!”
Fu Liuchuan sat across from her, his eyes downcast. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating his face. His pale skin was almost translucent, but his eyes were as deep as an ocean vortex.
Hearing her story, he raised a hand slightly, leaned forward, and said in a tone full of apology, “I’ll take responsibility.”
“If you don’t mind, Miss Jiang… let’s be together.”
