Chapter 7
That year, when Song Qiao transferred to our class in the second year of high school, I belatedly realized:
Could it be that the male and female leads were supposed to be deskmates?
Then wouldn’t I have cut off my brother’s romantic chances?
To compensate, I occasionally dragged Jian Yu to her to help them get closer.
Song Qiao always looked very timid, and I was afraid of scaring her, so I instinctively spoke to her gently.
Later, when we became familiar, she confessed, “I thought you were mocking me every day, which scared me into not daring to talk to you.”
Me: “?”
The day she differentiated, I thought she had a sudden illness.
Terrified, I carried her on my back and ran, all the while comforting her that she was fine, and telling her “don’t sleep.”
Jian Yu helped pay the fees, and we finally discovered she was just differentiating. I was then forced to learn about ABO differentiation.
Later, when someone asked me about my ideal type, I thought about it, found no specific answer, and casually gave the most general response:
“I don’t know, maybe… kind and gentle.”
The other person teased, “Like Song Qiao?”
I immediately stopped them, “Hey, hey, don’t talk nonsense, you’ll ruin her reputation.
“Song Qiao and I can’t be together.”
A friend’s wife is not to be bullied!
“Oh, I understand,” the other person suddenly realized. “You wouldn’t be with an Alpha, would you?”
I thought about it carefully; it seemed to be true. If I were with an Alpha, whether male or female, wouldn’t I always have to be the bottom?
Then, I added, “Maybe, it would be even better if she were a girl.”
Jian Yu listened on the side, without saying a word.
The second time dealing with differentiation, having gained experience, I wouldn’t be as flustered as before.
However, as the person involved, Jian Yu was much more panicked.
He had lost his usual composure and had actually hidden himself away.
When I found him, he was biting his own wrist, which was bleeding profusely.
His cheeks were flushed, his eyes misty, and his voice was choked with sobs:
“Don’t be an Alpha, don’t be an Alpha…”
He was pleading, praying that he wouldn’t differentiate into an Alpha.
Only then did I realize, if Jian Yu differentiated into an Alpha, how could he be with Song Qiao?
Unfortunately, later, Jian Yu still became an Alpha.
I didn’t think much of it; two Alphas, how exciting.
My differentiation was delayed until a physical examination finally confirmed that I was a Beta.
Some people found it hard to believe that I was just an ordinary Beta.
I quietly looked at the medical report. Song Qiao and Jian Yu seemed to want to comfort me, but before they could speak, I interrupted them:
“Oh, ‘male B’ sounds so bad.”
Jian Yu froze for a moment, then gave a helpless smile, “No one calls it that.”
I accepted it well; in fact, for me, it was the ideal situation.
After that, the three of us were almost always together. We finally waited until today, when we could see these two achieve their happy ending.
So why did Song Qiao say my name?
