Chapter 14
Extra
When the Hundred Ghosts went on an outing at the Zoo, they encountered a human who had wandered in by mistake.
She said her name was Jiang.
Humans cannot stay with the Hundred Ghosts for too long.
Daoist Shanyuan prepared to protect her and return her to the Yang Realm.
She tried to start a livestream.
But there was no signal in the Zoo.
With years of experience in livestream fortune-telling, Daoist Shanyuan decided to connect with her instead.
After all, the Zoo was full of dangers.
The disparity between Human Souls and other Souls was vast, and the malice of those Souls was hard for humans to bear.
She greeted Daoist Shanyuan with a bright smile:
“Hello, Daoist Shanyuan, I’m Jiang. For this livestream, I’ll be showing everyone the Monkeys.”
An old man choked up and said, “She looks just like my lively and adorable granddaughter.”
All the interested Souls flooded into the livestream room, accompanying Daoist Shanyuan, posing as humans.
The Monkey Borrowing Lifespan signaled her.
But none of the Souls expected that she would turn around and start bantering with the Monkeys, leaving them completely baffled.
But this is the Yin Realm; her banter had no effect here.
Daoist Shanyuan then used Yin Qi(Yin: the dark or passive principle; Qi: vital force; Yin Qi: the cold spiritual energy of the underworld) to create a Mini Program and put it up, dragging back his Junior Brother, who was out having fun, to join the Live Commerce.
Junior Brother said, “You’re so aloof, never letting me go out and have fun.
“Hey, she really does seem quite fun.”
Deep down, Daoist Shanyuan didn’t want her to know this wasn’t the Yang Realm. People are more likely to make mistakes when they’re afraid.
But that troublesome Parrot let it slip.
Luckily, Jiang didn’t believe it.
Still, she seemed a little slow on the uptake.
Oh well, it wasn’t a big deal.
After all, none of the Souls in the livestream room would harm her.
Some Souls were evil, but Daoist Shanyuan would handle them with a Talisman.
Some Souls were only mildly malicious; Jiang could deal with those herself.
Some animals were actually people cloaked in Souls. They could understand Jiang and were kindly disposed toward her.
“What a pity this isn’t the Yang Realm. Otherwise, Jiang would be having so much fun.”
So thought Daoist Shanyuan.
He could not divine for the living, nor could he draw Talismans for them.
Fortunately, Jiang earned some money on her own, so she didn’t have to bear the Karma behind it or become tainted by extra Yin Qi.
Junior Brother said that offering a little discount wouldn’t bother Yama-after all, the Yin Realm didn’t ban livestream sales or promotions.
However, midway through, he was required to make a mistake in one divination-this was one of the Zoo Rules. Rules never let people off easy.
So she requested a refund, and Fengdu even agreed to a Minor Refund.
Daoist Shanyuan sighed; she had found another Bug. Still, that was a good thing. She was clever.
Eventually, they reached the crossroads.
After much thought, all the Souls in the livestream room said:
“Go see her one last time.”
“Go see her, go see her.”
“Life is so long, who knows if there’ll be another meeting.”
“I’m going too, I’m going too. After all, I’ve been a fan of this streamer for three years.”
“What are you talking about? She’s only been streaming for two years-how have you been a fan for three?”
“Two years while alive, one year in the future.”
“You can be a fan in advance?”
The livestream room buzzed with chatter.
Everyone decided to see Jiang off.
He made his decision as well.
Carrying the Soul-Guiding Lantern, he would escort her one more time.
He hoped that after she returned home, she would not remember anything from here, nor be tainted by any Karma.
Everyone hoped that this accidental intrusion would not alter her original path-including Daoist Shanyuan.
Fortunately, he chose to see her one last time.
