Chapter 11
I survived the ordeal, clutching the railing and taking a few breaths.
Only belatedly did I realize something was missing from the Wolf Enclosure:
“Where’s the Werewolf? He didn’t come out to scare me.”
Junior Brother said, “He’s the one who was barking like a dog.”
Me: “…”
No wonder he’s human. That makes sense.
The moon was about to set.
Shan Yuan said, “There’s only one last enclosure left.”
I recalled the travel guide, “Aren’t there more enclosures than this? Is the Zoo’s advertising a scam?”
Shan Yuan: “…Ah, let me think.”
He was still organizing his words, but Junior Brother jumped in first, “Because that’s the condition for passing through. You still want to visit more enclosures?”
I shook my head vigorously, strategically retreating:
“No more.”
I’ve developed Zoo PTSD. I don’t want to play at all now.
Shan Yuan found a map of the enclosures and put it in the livestream room:
“Pick one to visit.”
He’d already assumed I was going to play.
The ones I hadn’t seen yet were Goose, Rabbit, Raccoon…
I chose Rabbit.
I was afraid the Goose would chase me, the Raccoon would bite me, but surely the Rabbit wouldn’t have any bad intentions, right? Rabbits are so timid.
Full of confidence, I stepped into the Rabbit Enclosure.
After seeing rabbits with teeth bigger than steel coins, I slunk away with my tail between my legs.
[What kind of terrifying rabbit is this?]
[One bite and your bones would snap…]
I looked at the comments and felt my leg bones start to ache.
The railing in the Rabbit Enclosure was very low.
Looking at the rabbits inside, hopping around with two huge steel teeth, I didn’t dare take a single step forward.
I opened the Qingtian Temple Mini Program, hoping to find a usable Talisman.
When I tried to pay, I found my balance was insufficient.
Truly baffling.
I remembered there was money in my card.
Shan Yuan looked at the backend, seeing the order still unpaid, “You’ve run out of money.”
I was about to cry.
“Are you guys running a scam? You made me spend a million in one night.”
He paused, then told me, “It’s not RMB.”
He seemed a bit troubled as he spoke, “It’s the Spirit Money you put in your bag.”
“…What about the first few divinations?”
He said, “That was on credit. Until you collected Spirit Money by driving the train, we didn’t start charging you.”
Comments started popping up:
[The Parrot told you from the start.]
[There’s no signal in the enclosures, and the ones connecting with you aren’t living people.]
I stood there, goosebumps rising all over.
Shan Yuan sighed softly:
“Don’t be afraid, not everyone in the Yin Realm is bad. Your livestream room is full of your fans.”
[Watched the streamer all night, here’s a tip.]
[I’ll send a thousand Spirit Money.]
The backend account kept notifying me of incoming Spirit Money.
My nose started to sting.
Shan Yuan stopped them in time, “That’s enough. He’s alive, don’t send more. This is enough for the last divination.”
He solemnly shook the Tortoise Shell, cast the Copper Coins, and recorded the Divination Signs.
“The rabbits are all very timid.
“Once you see the main road outside, just walk straight ahead. Don’t look back, remember, don’t look back.”
Junior Brother chimed in from the side, “Don’t look back.”
The livestream room started spamming:
[Don’t look back.]
Then, my phone showed 0% battery and the screen went black.
