Summary
When I married into the Chen Clan of Qinghe in my young mistress’s stead, the once-lofty and proud Cui Shao had already been reduced to a broken man following his castration.
He did not like me; on our wedding day, there wasn’t even a ceremony.
Later, he successfully overturned the charges against him, and the Chen Clan of Qinghe regained its former glory.
My now-widowed mistress arrived at our gates clutching her old marriage contract. She was willing to have her son change his surname, claiming she didn’t mind that Cui Shao was no longer a ‘complete’ man.
I no longer had a reason to stay.
But just as I was packing my bags to leave, Cui Shao cornered me, pinning me against the bed while radiating a chilling aura.
“If you dare leave, I’ll make sure you can’t get out of bed today!”
The jade pendant at his waist dug into me, sending a sharp throb of pain through my side.
