Summary
The year I turned twenty-three, I married Jeremy Zhou.
He was a man of cold disposition; he married me simply because I was obedient enough.
I could help him deal with his elders.
Everyone knew he already had a ‘Moonlight Muse.’
When she returned, I would inevitably have to vacate the position of Mrs. Zhou.
Finally, his Moonlight Muse returned, and I, being sensible, asked for a divorce.
He smiled indifferently, “Alright, let’s divorce then.”
After that day, we didn’t contact each other for a long time.
Until the news of my engagement spread.
That evening, he called me thirteen times.
The first call had only one words: “Congratulations.”
By the thirteenth call, I couldn’t stand it anymore: “What exactly do you want?”
He bit on a cigarette, his voice muffled: “Is he richer than me, is he better to you than me? You just want to marry him.”
