The President Made Me Trend - Chapter 250 - Variety Show
Little Bun thought for a moment, then extended his tiny finger to hook Mo Qinghuan’s finger, grinning as he said, “Alright then, as long as older sister doesn’t tell older brother, Little Bun will agree to older sister’s request.”
In the innocent world of children, perhaps a pinky promise is a binding agreement where no one is allowed to break their word. Looking at Little Bun’s sweet face, Mo Qinghuan couldn’t help but sigh. If only the adult world were as simple, without deceit and manipulation, how wonderful would that be?
She smiled gently, teaching Little Bun not to take advantage of others’ kindness. The little guy, though somewhat confused, nodded earnestly like a good student, agreeing to her advice. When Lu Yucheng came downstairs after his shower, he saw Mo Qinghuan patiently guiding Little Bun, and a rare smile appeared on his weary face.
The three of them enjoyed a delightful meal together, with Little Bun apologizing for his earlier antics and receiving Lu Yucheng’s forgiveness, his innocent face beaming with joy.
The variety show was scheduled to start recording at nine in the morning. On that day, Lu Yucheng deliberately took the day off from work, planning to relax completely. Huo-Jie and the driver came to pick them up. When Mo Qinghuan informed Huo-Jie that Lu Yucheng had agreed to participate in the variety show, Huo-Jie could hardly believe it. It wasn’t until she saw Lu Yucheng in person that she had to accept it as true.
Secretly giving Mo Qinghuan a thumbs up, Huo-Jie praised, “Well done, Qinghuan! You’ve really got him wrapped around your finger. Even got Mr. Lu to agree to a show where he has to step out of his comfort zone and be in the spotlight.”
“I didn’t really do much. It’s just that the company matters have been overwhelming for him, and I wanted him to have a chance to relax,” Mo Qinghuan said sweetly, looking at Lu Yucheng’s back.
When they arrived backstage, the director and host were eagerly awaiting their arrival. Not every couple participating in the show received such a welcome, but Lu Yucheng’s special status and Mo Qinghuan’s rising fame in Showbiz made them cautious not to offend the pair. The director and host were all smiles and respectful.
“It’s an honor to have Mr. Lu and Miss Mo join our show. Thank you for gracing us with your presence,” the director said, full of flattery.
Lu Yucheng, accustomed to such scenes, merely offered a polite smile, shaking hands with them before pulling Mo Qinghuan closer, replying, “I’m just here to accompany my wife. You don’t need to focus too much on my status; just record as usual.”
“Yes, yes, Mr. Lu is indeed devoted to his wife, just as the rumors say,” the female host chimed in, pushing the director aside and trying to catch Lu Yucheng’s attention.
But her looks paled in comparison to Mo Qinghuan’s, and Lu Yucheng’s gaze didn’t linger on her for more than three seconds before returning to Mo Qinghuan, full of affection.
The female host felt slighted, naturally feeling uncomfortable. Just as she was about to continue her attempts to charm Lu Yucheng, Mo Qinghuan’s cool voice interrupted, “Director, since this is a variety show, there must be games involved. But the stylist has dressed the host in such a short skirt. Won’t that affect the filming?”
“This?” The director followed Mo Qinghuan’s gaze and noticed the female host’s tight, short dress and high heels. His expression turned sour, but he couldn’t lash out in front of Lu Yucheng and Mo Qinghuan, so he lowered his voice, warning, “Go change your clothes immediately. As a host, what do you think you’re doing? If you upset Miss Mo and disrupt the filming, you can forget about working on this show again.”
The half-threatening, half-warning tone made the female host shiver. She had bought the dress specifically for today, hoping to catch Lu Yucheng’s eye. But before she even got on stage, she was ordered to change? She stomped her foot in frustration but didn’t dare defy the director’s orders, so she went to the changing room.
After the female host left, Lu Yucheng looked at Mo Qinghuan with a mischievous grin, whispering in her ear, “What? Jealous?”
Rarely did he see Mo Qinghuan jealous. Agreeing to record this variety show had inadvertently allowed him to witness the terrifying side of a woman’s jealousy. But to him, even if Mo Qinghuan were to slap someone, it wouldn’t be scary; it would be another form of cuteness.
“I was just worried the filming temperature might be too low and she’d catch a cold, which would disrupt the recording and waste our precious time,” Mo Qinghuan explained, knowing full well the female host’s intentions. But she wasn’t foolish enough to give another woman the chance to seduce her husband.
Mo Qinghuan’s stubborn explanation made Lu Yucheng laugh heartily, and the staff present were amazed to see such a down-to-earth side of Lu Yucheng.
The recording officially began:
Following the director’s instructions, the female host reluctantly changed into a conservative sports outfit. She held the microphone, reading from the program sheet, and asked the couple sitting closely together, “Mr. Lu, it’s well-known that you’re a model of success in the business world, having acquired the Lu family’s empire at a young age. Now you’ve successfully married a beauty, becoming the envy of countless men. How did you win over our beautiful Miss Mo?”
This was a staple segment of the variety show, allowing Lu Yucheng and Mo Qinghuan to reminisce about their sweet courtship in front of the camera. For Mo Qinghuan, it was easy, but for Lu Yucheng, who rarely faced the camera, he seemed a bit shy.
His gaze tried to avoid the camera, but Mo Qinghuan held his hand, as if comforting him. Encouraged, Lu Yucheng was no longer as flustered as before. He smiled at her and replied:
“I’ve always believed that my union with my wife was destined. Of course, there were some minor hurdles along the way, but I love her, so I never thought of giving up. As for the process, how should I put it?”
Lu Yucheng pondered how to best answer. Seeing his nervousness, Mo Qinghuan couldn’t help but chime in, “I think when you truly love someone, the pursuit isn’t what’s important. It’s whether you can live happily together and find joy-that’s the main thing. I believe that’s what every unmarried girl dreams of yet also worries about.”
With her wit and experience in front of the camera, Mo Qinghuan easily provided a perfect answer, and Lu Yucheng admired her confidence and grace.
After the interview, they played a few games as per the host’s instructions, mostly designed to give the couple opportunities for close interaction, delighting the audience. Despite his status, Lu Yucheng didn’t complain, participating according to the script, much to everyone’s surprise.
