The President Made Me Trend - Chapter 232 - Lessons
Huo-Jie’s voice trembled slightly as she spoke, embarrassed, “Qinghuan, please explain to Mr. Lu that I didn’t mean to disturb your rest. Anyway, you two go back to sleep, and I’ll get back to work. You have no idea how busy I’ve been since you went on your honeymoon.”
“Goodbye,” Mo Qinghuan chuckled at Huo-Jie’s quick change in attitude. After hanging up, she turned to see Lu Yucheng looking displeased. She laughed, “Huo-Jie was so scared by your voice that she couldn’t even finish a sentence.”
“Well, she was the one who disturbed our rest. But I heard her excitement; what happened to make her so happy?” Lu Yucheng asked, helping her tidy her long hair and planting a loving kiss on her cheek.
Mo Qinghuan didn’t hide anything and recounted Huo-Jie’s words to Lu Yucheng. After listening, he chuckled coldly, “Shen Meng really lost out this time. Not only did she fail to marry into Li Pengyuan’s wealthy family, but she also ruined her reputation. If this continues, she might be forced to leave showbiz.”
“Shen Meng won’t quit,” Mo Qinghuan smiled faintly. She could believe anyone else might retire, but not Shen Meng. She entered this industry for fame and fortune. Even now, as someone everyone dislikes, she must still dream of a comeback. For that dream, she won’t give up easily.
Just as Lu Yucheng was pleading to sleep a bit longer, the door was pushed open from outside. Little Bun, holding a toy, bounced onto their bed, looking sleepy yet adorably mischievous.
“Brother, sister, Little Bun is awake and doesn’t want to sleep anymore,” the little one whined, then naturally tried to take Lu Yucheng’s spot, snuggling into Mo Qinghuan’s arms.
But Lu Yucheng, with a childish streak, wasn’t about to let Little Bun take his place. He clung to Mo Qinghuan, reminding Little Bun, “Remember, Little Bun, you should knock before entering someone else’s room. Didn’t I teach you that before?”
“Sorry, brother, Little Bun forgot,” the little one looked a bit upset. After all, he was just a kindergarten kid, how could he remember all the rules every day?
Seeing him upset, Mo Qinghuan’s heart ached. She quickly bent down to scoop him into her arms, pushing Lu Yucheng aside, and comforted him, “Don’t worry, Little Bun. Brother didn’t mean to scold you. Come here, let me see if you’ve gained weight.”
She then tickled him, eliciting a burst of giggles from Little Bun, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
“Sister, Little Bun heard your voice at the door, that’s why I came in,” the little one explained sensibly. He had heard Mo Qinghuan’s voice and knew they were awake, so he dared to come in. Otherwise, he might have played alone for a while, patiently waiting for Lu Yucheng and Mo Qinghuan to wake up.
Hearing his explanation, Mo Qinghuan felt even more tenderness for the little one. Remembering Huo-Jie’s question, she held Little Bun and solemnly instructed, “Little Bun, remember, when you grow up, never bully others first. But if someone bullies you, you must retaliate twice as hard and never forgive them. Understand?”
Perhaps fearing this innocent child might be bullied when he grows up, Mo Qinghuan felt compelled to teach him the principle of avenging wrongs from an early age.
However, the little one, being too young, didn’t quite grasp Mo Qinghuan’s words. He furrowed his brows, nodded as if he understood, “Okay, sister, Little Bun will remember.”
Lu Yucheng, observing Mo Qinghuan instilling such ideas in Little Bun, found it amusing yet didn’t stop her. After all, her approach wasn’t wrong; her intentions were good, hoping Little Bun could protect himself.
But once Mo Qinghuan went to the bathroom, Lu Yucheng pulled Little Bun aside and gently advised, “Little Bun, don’t listen to sister. Brother hopes you’ll grow up to be a kind and generous man, but also brave enough to protect the woman you love. Got it?”
“Brother and sister said different things. Who should Little Bun listen to?” The little one was puzzled. Being so young, he was naturally confused by the contrasting advice from Lu Yucheng and Mo Qinghuan.
Taking advantage of Mo Qinghuan’s absence, Lu Yucheng cleverly answered, “Of course, listen to brother. Did you forget sister is a girl? Brother and Little Bun are the men, so follow brother’s advice, okay?”
“Okay, brother, Little Bun understands. I’m going to play with my toys now.” Watching the little one bounce out of the room, Lu Yucheng finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He knocked on the bathroom door, and the sound of the shower stopped. He asked, “I want to take a walk nearby. Qinghuan, do you want to join me?”
“I’ll pass. After my shower, I’ll play with Little Bun for a while.” Since bringing him on their honeymoon, despite their efforts to be cautious, they occasionally neglected the little one. So as a form of compensation, Mo Qinghuan decided to spend the whole day with him.
“Alright, I’ll be back soon.” Lu Yucheng stretched, glanced at the bright sun outside, and left the hotel.
But when he returned after a walk, he saw Little Bun whispering into Mo Qinghuan’s ear. A strange sense of foreboding crept over him, though he attributed it to the stark contrast between the outside heat and the hotel’s air conditioning, causing his body to misinterpret the sensation.
He placed the groceries he bought on the table and smiled at the whispering duo, asking, “Little Bun, what secret are you sharing with sister? Can’t brother hear it too?”
“Little Bun is just telling sister what brother told Little Bun,” the innocent child replied, thinking that since Lu Yucheng emphasized his words were correct, Mo Qinghuan should know too, so she wouldn’t have any wrong ideas.
However, his words sent a chill down Lu Yucheng’s spine. He swallowed hard, seeing Mo Qinghuan’s face darken. He hurriedly explained, “Qinghuan, let me explain. I was just joking with the little one. Who knew he’d tell on me so soon? Haha, believe me, I didn’t dismiss your ideas.”
“Oh? But didn’t you tell Little Bun that since I’m a girl, he shouldn’t listen to me and should follow the ‘men’s way’ instead?” Mo Qinghuan feigned anger, sitting on the sofa with her arms crossed, looking upset. Even Lu Yucheng couldn’t tell if she was genuinely angry or just showcasing her exceptional acting skills.
