The Journey of Resident Evil - Chapter 25 - New Survivors
“Tiankuang, look, they’re coming again,” Liu Yonglin said, pointing to the scattered zombies at the door.
“Who cares,” I said nonchalantly. “Let’s treat it as target practice. See who can hit more and prove who’s better.”
“Fine by me!”
“Bring it on; I’m not scared of you!”
“Bang!”
“One down, remember that. Count your own. Don’t cry if you lose,” Ye Xiang fired first, as he had a better angle for shooting.
“Bang.”
Liu Yonglin chuckled, “Did you see that? Headshot! Cool, right?”
I gave him a thumbs-up, and Liu Yonglin was even happier.
Then I said, “Watch closely, don’t blink.”
“Bang, bang,” two shots, both headshots. Ye Xiang was stunned, “You’re incredible! We both practiced shooting together; how did you get so good?
Back in school, Ye Xiang and I often went to the gym outside to participate in shooting competitions, but Ye Xiang also competed against others and did quite well.
“Haha, all thanks to your guidance!”
Indeed, it was Ye Xiang who taught me to shoot. He often brought me along to skip classes and practice shooting.
But I never shot well, so I often went to practice during other times.
Heaven rewards the diligent, truly. Just a few days ago, my shooting accuracy had improved significantly, as it is now.
“I thought I was the one teaching you to shoot!” Ye Xiang looked at me incredulously.
“Even if you taught me, the apprentice should surpass the master, right?”
Really, Ye Xiang still found it unbelievable and kept looking.
Liu Yonglin gave me a pat, “What are you two talking about? I’ve already shot a few dead!”
“Where are they? I didn’t see them.”
“Can’t you look for yourself? There are a few on the ground. Can’t you count? You lost, haha.” Liu Yonglin said.
I counted, six on the ground. Damn, the rest were blown up by the bomb, those were in pieces, only the ones shot stayed intact.
Just these? Alright! Watch my shooting skills.
“Hey, what are you guys arguing about!”
“Didn’t you see there’s a zombie up there?” I didn’t notice when Qimeng came over to my side.
Nope, what’re you doing here? What’s there to see! I was aiming at the zombie up there, just about to shoot, when Ye Xiang took it down.
“Geez, Ye Xiang, I was just about to shoot that one, not cool!”
“Forced by circumstances.”
No more? I looked around the yard, no zombies left, all taken down.
“Let’s wait a little longer to see if there are any more.” I was worried that as soon as we went out, more zombies would appear, making it hard to escape.
I watched the door and suddenly saw shadows.
They didn’t walk like zombies; they should be human.
“Looks like humans, hold your fire!”
“Oh my gosh!
“It really does!” Qimeng said.
“They look like zombies, but why do they walk like people?” Liu Yonglin said.
After hearing them speak, we confirmed, “They’re humans!”
“They’re actually humans! Not zombies, we’ve seen people again.” Ye Xiang said.
“Damn!” I couldn’t help but curse!
“Hey! Friends! Are you human?” Liu Yonglin shouted loudly!
“Who asks like that,” I punched Liu Yonglin in the chest, really an idiot!
“Let me show you how it’s done,” I laughed.
“Hey, you zombies over there, are you still human?”
Qimeng couldn’t help but burst into laughter, clutching her stomach, “You guys, stop joking.”
“I really don’t know what’s gotten into you guys today, being so happy.” Ye Ling said.
Honestly, we didn’t know either, maybe it’s just because we were still alive! Being alive is good!
Suddenly, the people ahead heard us laughing and took off their masks. They were really human! Actual people! We had allies now, which was even better!
There were five of them, four men and one woman, holding knives.
“Ye Ling, Qimeng, Xueyang, Shen Wei, Xueqi, keep an eye out, we’re going out. Finally, someone’s here!”
“Haha!”
I ran over with Ye Xiang and Liu Yonglin following behind.
The people across were delighted to see us.
“Haha! So you were wearing masks. If you had walked like zombies, you’d be doomed.”
“Hello.”
“Great, it’s so good to see you,” Ye Xiang said happily.
“There are many beauties inside! Let’s talk inside; it’s not very safe here,” Liu Yonglin said.
After introductions, we learned that these people were from a nearby village. After a zombie attack, only these five were left.
They were Liu Qi, Liu Yin, Liu Feng, Qian Jing, and Sun Jing. They survived because they were on the mountain and didn’t return to the village in time.
Returning to the village, they found everyone had turned into zombies, and many had died! Looking at the people in the yard, they might have been from their village!
“Sigh, the apocalypse!”
“There are a lot of guns here, but the military seems to have left.” I pointed to the armory behind us.
“That’s what we’re here for,” Liu Yin said.
“Great! Let’s be heroes for once. Bring the explosives, and get ready to become national heroes.”
“Alright!”
