It had been a long time since Ye Ranxi had tasted Qian Yexue’s delicious cooking. The moment she saw the table full of food, she couldn’t contain her excitement. Without even putting on her shoes, she rushed over and plopped down at the dining table to start eating.

“Don’t eat so fast!” Qian Yexue had been waiting for her to return before having dinner, and seeing her gobble down the food made Qian Yexue smile with a hint of helplessness.

Ye Ranxi felt a bit selfish thinking about it. In the past, when she lived with Qian Yexue, she had sacrificed their friendship for love. Before she knew it, the New Year was approaching. That day, after sending Qian Yexue off to work, Ling Xiaonai’s car pulled up in front of her house.

“What are you doing?” she exclaimed as he lifted her into the vehicle. When she tried to get out, he wouldn’t let her.

Ling Xiaonai pressed a gentle kiss on her cheek. “Come home with me to celebrate the New Year?”

“No way!” Ye Ranxi didn’t hesitate to refuse. She still vividly remembered the mistreatment she had endured during her last visit to his home. If she went back now, she had no idea how much worse it could get.

Ling Xiaonai’s hand caressed her face, trying to calm her impatience. “Come on, be a good girl and come back with me.”

“No, your family doesn’t like me. They’ll be unhappy to see me; it’s better if I don’t go,” she replied, clearly thinking of his feelings.

“They are slowly accepting you. They can see how wonderful you are. Please, come back with me?” Ling Xiaonai coaxed her patiently, and finally, Ye Ranxi reluctantly nodded.

Before long, Ye Ranxi had a change of heart. She struggled lightly in the air, “If I go to celebrate the New Year with your family, won’t Qian Yexue be bored all alone at home?”

“Boss, I just fell asleep two hours ago. What do you want?” Pei Yuanyi sounded groggy on the phone.

Ling Xiaonai had no patience for small talk, so he coldly issued his command: “You need to come to Xiaoxi’s house now. You cannot leave without my orders.”

Ye Ranxi’s ears perked up at this-so Ling Xiaonai was calling Pei Yuanyi. That was a good idea! If she wasn’t around, it would be nice for Pei Yuanyi to spend the New Year with Qian Yexue. Who knows, maybe the two of them would spark some romance over the holidays. Then, when the time came, Pei Yuanyi wouldn’t be able to escape Qian Yexue’s grasp!

On the other end of the line, Pei Yuanyi was taken aback. What kind of command was this?

“Wait, can I not go?” he stammered.

Ling Xiaonai frowned and coldly responded, “Try it and see what happens.”

Without needing to say more, Pei Yuanyi could imagine how grim the consequences would be… So, without a moment’s hesitation, he quickly got dressed and arrived at Ye Ranxi’s doorstep within ten minutes.

When Ye Ranxi saw a disheveled figure stumble out of the car, she clamped her hand over her mouth and laughed.

“Are you satisfied? I got Yuanyi to keep Qian Yexue company for the New Year while you celebrate with me,” Ling Xiaonai said gently as he held her close.

Since Pei Yuanyi was already there, Ye Ranxi saw no need to stay and be a third wheel anymore. “Alright, then I’ll go back home with you.”

The car drove off into the distance.

Ye Ranxi had completely forgotten that she was still wearing pajamas when she sent Qian Yexue off to work. Now, as Ling Xiaonai pulled up to her house and carried her into the car, she felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. What would the Ling Family think when they saw her in her pajamas? Ling Xiaonai surveyed the area around them and parked the car in a secluded spot. “Don’t worry, the windows are specially designed. People inside can see out, but those outside can’t see in.”

Even if outsiders couldn’t see in, Ling Xiaonai would be right there! Ye Ranxi shot him a glare but ultimately relented, reluctantly moving to the back seat to change.

Meanwhile, at the Ling Family home, Wen Nuan was hopping mad upon hearing that Ye Ranxi was coming back with Ling Xiaonai for the New Year.

Wen Nuan had no choice but to call Li Xiaoai for help. Li Xiaoai always had good suggestions, and she felt like she was her only hope now.

“Xiaoai, what should I do? Ye Ranxi is back with Xiaonai-Ge, and I don’t know how to deal with her!”

Since Ye Ranxi had spoken up for the Ling Family at the Ling Corporation last time, Ling Jiang and Zhang Huiwen had started to view her more favorably. They even sent warm soup with the servants.
