Teasing the Icy President - Chapter 20 - Awkwardness
She glanced timidly at Lu Zizhong and said, “I have something to do, I’ll head out for a bit.”
As she spoke, she was about to leave when a voice rang out from behind, “Stop-Mu Qingtian-!”
It was Ye Ziqian’s voice, cold enough to send shivers down her spine. She didn’t dare turn around, only saying, “Boss, I have something to attend to.”
“Mu Qingtian-!” Ye Ziqian shouted loudly, at a loss for words. His mood, a good mood for the day, was completely ruined by her. He sat on the sofa, wiping his hair, his face dark with anger that hadn’t dissipated.
Mu Qingtian carefully moved step by step towards the door. “Where are you going?” he asked. “To find Nie Shuangshuang,” she replied timidly, knowing she had caused a big mess. She didn’t dare lie and directly stated her destination, unsure if she could still keep her part-time job. She thought she should go cry to Nie Shuangshuang first.
She always seemed to mess things up, feeling oppressed by her own clumsiness. How did she become so foolish around him, almost like a pig?
She sighed lightly, sniffled a bit, pretending to be scared and upset to gain Ye Ziqian’s sympathy, though the chances were slim. Regardless, she had to try.
Unexpectedly, Ye Ziqian said, “What about the glass? You’re not going to pay for it?”
“Ah?” She turned around to see him glaring at her fiercely. She quickly lowered her head, her arm feeling uncomfortable, and said, “I don’t want the money, just consider it compensation.”
“What compensation? The glass hasn’t been cleaned, and you call that compensation?” Ye Ziqian glanced at her coldly, unwilling to argue further. “Go clean the glass, I’ll watch you.”
“Ah?” Another surprised exclamation. It’s over… She had planned to slack off, but now he was going to supervise her. Mu Qingtian gritted her teeth, wishing she could strangle him. This annoying man was too much, too bullying. How could she clean the glass with a fracture?
Luckily, the floor-to-ceiling window was close to the ground, so the lower part was easier to clean. She managed to make the bottom of the window shine, but was troubled by the upper part. How could she climb up with one arm?
She stared at the glass in thought. Lu Zizhong was about to help her but was stopped by Ye Ziqian. “No helping,” he said.
He drank iced tea, read the newspaper, occasionally glancing at Mu Qingtian, reminding her, “Time is running out, if you don’t finish, I’ll deduct another two thousand.”
“You…” Mu Qingtian was sweating profusely under the sun, even more furious after hearing this, but couldn’t say a word. Ye Ziqian watched her with satisfaction, unable to stand her arrogance. Her current state pleased him.
While the two were at a standoff, Lu Zizhong received a phone call, his expression immediately turning serious. He walked over to Ye Ziqian and whispered something in his ear. Ye Ziqian’s face darkened further, and he quickly stood up, grabbed his clothes, and said, “Let’s go.” Without another glance at Mu Qingtian, he left.
Mu Qingtian was fretting over how to clean the upper part of the glass when she saw him leave without a word. She shouted at his back, “Hooray!” The troublesome demon finally left. She happily ran back home, gulped down iced tea, and sighed on the sofa.
Should she call Nie Shuangshuang? She wondered.
“How did this happen?” Ye Ziqian asked Lu Zizhong in the car. Lu Zizhong wasn’t clear on the details either. “The situation happened too suddenly. It seems this portion of funds is going down the drain.”
“My Ye Family’s assets cannot be encroached upon, not even a penny,” Ye Ziqian said firmly. “Did that guy really embezzle a huge amount and flee?”
“Yes, his whereabouts are unknown now. I’m worried our cash flow will face difficulties,” Lu Zizhong expressed his concerns.
“Damn it, I trusted him so much, and he stabbed me in the back,” Ye Ziqian clenched his fist, silent. Lu Zizhong knew this was a dangerous signal. “What now?” he asked. “Find him, even if you have to dig three feet into the ground. I refuse to believe he can run far.”
This reminded him of something. “How long has this been going on?”
“Half an hour,” Lu Zizhong replied. “Half an hour ago, we discovered the funds were problematic. This person likely betrayed us and sided with An Shaochen.”
“An Shaochen, always An Shaochen!” Ye Ziqian took a deep breath, closed his eyes, leaned back in his seat, and calmed himself. “Immediately transfer Manager Feng to that position to handle this matter. Tell him if it’s not resolved tonight, he’ll disappear from this world.”
“But… isn’t he the commercial spy we’ve been monitoring for a long time?” Lu Zizhong was puzzled, wondering if his boss was too angry to think straight. Ye Ziqian said, “It’s time to activate this spy. He wants to spy on us? Let him make a choice this time: provide clues or die.”
Lu Zizhong understood Ye Ziqian’s intention and nodded. “Rest assured, I understand your meaning. I’ll arrange it immediately.”
Ye Ziqian said, “Bring Miss Ren here.”
“Yes,” Lu Zizhong replied.
At ten in the morning, Miss Ren appeared at the company wearing twelve-centimeter high heels. She was the sweetheart of a local leader and had met Ye Ziqian at a ball. He liked her seductive charm, which seemed to seep into her bones. She swayed her hips as she entered Ye Ziqian’s office, seeing him sitting with closed eyes in his executive chair. She walked straight up and sat on his lap.
She was naturally open and unafraid of him. Ye Ziqian glanced at her and said, “You’re here?”
“Yes, invited by President Ye, I came in so abruptly. You won’t blame me, will you?” She leaned forward, boldly touching him. She had a pleasant perfume scent, which Ye Ziqian didn’t know was an aphrodisiac. Any man who smelled it would eagerly respond to her. Her cleverness was hidden in her scheming.
Miss Ren’s hand slid down, but Ye Ziqian dominantly bound her hands. Miss Ren looked surprised. He unbuttoned her blouse, and her fullness was exposed before him. He bit hard, and Miss Ren let out a loud moan, not restrained but loud, further igniting him.
Passion burned, consuming them both. After venting on her, he dressed and coldly said, “Get out, take whatever money you want.”
Miss Ren smiled and said, “I want you.”
He chuckled and said, “Impossible. You’re not worthy.”
Miss Ren walked naked to him, looking weak and vulnerable, her chest heaving. “You’re really something,” she said. He ignored her, continuing to read the newspaper. Miss Ren, feeling unappreciated, dressed angrily and left.
Suddenly, he felt something missing. Right, this time he wasn’t interrupted. A round, chubby face flashed in his mind. No more work meant no more interruptions, right?
He angrily grabbed the phone and dialed a number. “Where are you?”
Mu Qingtian was talking to Nie Shuangshuang when the call came, stammering, unable to answer. Danger slowly crept in, and he sensed her disobedience. “Little fatty, tell me, is the glass cleaned?”
“Um… um…” Two black lines fell from her face as she watched Nie Shuangshuang munching on ice cream, leaning in to listen to the call. She hurriedly pushed Nie Shuangshuang aside, but Nie Shuangshuang stubbornly leaned back in. Annoyed, she said, “What are you doing? Go away…”
Nie Shuangshuang finally stepped aside, glaring at her with eyes that could kill an elephant.
Ye Ziqian heard this. “You went out, didn’t you? Don’t you know you have a fracture and you’re running around the streets?” Ye Ziqian was completely furious. Mu Qingtian was too disobedient, sneaking out while he was busy. This was unacceptable.
Since she could run out and enjoy herself, she could come to work too. He reached this conclusion and shouted into the phone, “Get over to the company immediately, or I’ll deduct five thousand!” He hung up angrily, tossing the receiver onto the desk, and slumped into his chair.
Mu Qingtian was dumbfounded. What’s going on? Deducting money several times a day, each time more than the last. How could she live like this, wouldn’t she end up in debt?
At this moment, Nie Shuangshuang leaned over, “Qingtian, what’s up? Does he miss you? Tell me.”
“Miss your head!”
Mu Qingtian grumpily bit into an ice cream. “I’m doomed. I have to go to the company immediately, or another five thousand will be gone.” She tossed the ice cream to Nie Shuangshuang. “You go home first, I’m leaving, bye.”
With that, she ran off like the wind, disappearing from sight. With a bitter face, she took a taxi to the company, meeting Lu Zizhong head-on. Lu Zizhong was surprised. “Little girl, why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be resting at home?”
“Sigh, it’s a long story.” She forced a smile, which looked worse than crying, unsure of what her fate would be next. Before Lu Zizhong could say anything, she hurriedly entered the elevator, waving goodbye to him.
The elevator kept rising, her mind tangled in knots. Would he deduct her money again? She couldn’t take it anymore, she had to confront him. After all, she was human, and humans needed dignity. She couldn’t be bullied like this, it was endless. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, the more frustrated she felt.
As she angrily approached Ye Ziqian’s office, she heard a woman’s voice inside. She couldn’t take it anymore, thinking about her money being deducted. She barged in, only to see a couple in front of her, her anger dissipating instantly. She smiled awkwardly, “Sorry, wrong room. You guys continue.”
“Get out-” The same voice, the same words echoed in Mu Qingtian’s ears. Ugh, why so fierce? Clearly, he told her to come immediately, and now he wanted her to leave. Was she a ball to be kicked around? Too much.
