Take Me Away, My Love - Chapter 46 - She's Getting Married
Li Minchun’s face was bashfully flushed, the rosy tint a clear indication of her current mood. Her demeanor was coy, a mix of reluctance and invitation that was quite appealing.
Li Minchun squinted her eyes, savoring the comfort around her, while Jian Yiqing’s lips curled up slightly, a hint of wicked charm flashing in his eyes.
Jian Yiqing, teasingly playful, watched Li Minchun with great interest, his face filled with smiles.
“No, don’t…”
In an instant, Li Minchun tensed up due to the intense stimulation.
This sudden surge of force left her unsure of what to do next.
“Let me go…”
Li Minchun struggled, her consciousness even beginning to blur.
They embraced tightly, not parting ways like other lovers might after such an encounter. Instead, they continued to hold each other, enjoying the brief moments of tenderness.
Feeling the romantic scent in the car and the unique smell of the man next to her, Li Minchun breathed heavily and brushed the hair sticking to her face aside, irritably asking, “What, not jealous or angry anymore?”
“Jealous, angry? Are you saying I acted like that because I was jealous and angry?” Jian Yiqing raised his eyebrows slightly, a sign of his displeasure.
But Li Minchun wasn’t scared. What more could happen now?
Bluntly, she responded, “Exactly, you were clearly jealous and angry just now. What, do you want to deny it now?”
As she spoke, she provocatively glared at Jian Yiqing.
Seeing this.
Jian Yiqing couldn’t hold back anymore and flipped himself on top of Li Minchun.
“You’re asking for it, aren’t you? Today I’ll make sure you get enough.”
Thus, due to her momentary slip, Li Minchun spent the following hours enduring pain, fighting together with this beastly man.
It’s damn ridiculous, don’t they know what exhaustion is?
After such a long struggle, one wouldn’t even feel the discomfort.
Moreover, if it wasn’t for Li Minchun’s good physical condition, she might have fainted by now.
Being with a strong man also requires courage.
Even if one doesn’t have a clever mind, at least a robust body is essential.
By the time the two of them returned, dragging their exhausted, sore bodies, it was already the following morning.
Early in the morning, as soon as the door was opened, a room full of people eating breakfast was revealed.
Two figures, looking utterly exhausted, had just come in from outside. Uncle Ru Long couldn’t resist teasing, “Hey, you two got up really early. Did you go out for a run?”
Jian Qingtian, standing nearby, joined in the teasing, although he had no idea what Jian Yiqing and Li Minchun had been up to the night before. However, he noticed the high heels on Li Minchun’s mother’s feet and, pointing at them, said, “Have you ever seen anyone running in high heels, idiot?”
“What did you call me?”
Uncle Ru Long was instantly enraged. The young man in front of him was becoming increasingly disrespectful. Even facing an elder, he could shout and scream without any decorum.
But Jian Qingtian was not intimidated. He stood up and shouted back, “You are an idiot, just look at your name; it screams that you’re a big idiot!”
“Jian Qingtian, you cannot be so rude. Apologize to Uncle Ru Long right now.”
Amidst their escalating argument, Li Minchun’s cool voice suddenly cut through.
The noise from the group abruptly ceased, and everyone’s eyes turned toward Li Minchun.
Seeing her stern expression, no one dared to speak again.
Previously, in such situations, it was usually Jian Yiqing who intervened. Though Jian Qingtian might not always listen to him, he would at least tone it down.
However, today it was not Jian Yiqing who spoke, but Li Minchun. It was unclear how Jian Qingtian would respond to this relatively new mother figure in his life.
As he was contemplating this, Jian Qingtian murmured defiantly under his breath, “He really is a big idiot.”
“Jian Qingtian! As a young man, don’t you have even a bit of magnanimity? If you can’t even admit your mistakes now, what will you do in the future?”
Confronted with Li Minchun’s fierce look, Jian Qingtian had no choice but to sheepishly tell Uncle Ru Long, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have called you an idiot.”
Everyone was taken aback by Jian Qingtian’s sudden change of heart, especially Uncle Ru Long.
Having lived with Jian Qingtian for so long, they were used to their quarrels and banters. Jian Qingtian’s sudden politeness was indeed hard to digest.
Uncle Ru Long, slightly embarrassed, scratched the back of his head and said, “Let’s just forget about it, it’s not a big deal.”
Li Minchun kept a stern face and said, “Ru Long, you need to apologize as well.”
“Ah?” Ru Long’s eyes widened in surprise.
“How you just treated Jian Qingtian, do you even look like an adult? Apologize now!”
When Li Minchun was angry, her presence was not to be taken lightly.
Her words had scared Ru Long out of his wits.
Finally, under the imposing aura of Li Minchun, Ru Long silently nodded, admitting his fault.
Seeing such a grown man apologize to him, a victorious smile appeared on Jian Qingtian’s face.
Afterward, he magnanimously said to Ru Long, “Alright, I forgive you.”
As he spoke, smiles appeared on both of their faces.
Li Minchun, watching this scene, let out a long sigh of relief.
She had been delayed by various matters and had neglected her son’s upbringing. Now that she was back by her son’s side, it was time to take on the responsibilities of a mother.
By doing so, she might shape Jian Qingtian into a useful talent in the future.
Perhaps he could even become a pillar of society one day.
She didn’t need her son to be a genius; she just hoped he would grow up to be healthy and wise-that would be enough.
With these thoughts, Li Minchun had already begun to quietly outline a detailed plan for her son in her mind.
Unfortunately, she was unaware that danger was slowly approaching her; she just didn’t know it yet.
After learning their lesson, Jian Qingtian and Ru Long no longer acted like quarrelsome children. At least at home, both became much more well-behaved, simply not wanting to upset Li Minchun.
They both shared the thought, “It was tough enough to wait for mom to come back; if we drive her away again, it wouldn’t be worth it.”
From then on, Li Minchun had become the princess of the home, with no one daring to cross her.
“Li Minchun, I want to go back to America,” Zhang Mi suddenly approached Li Minchun, who was washing dishes, and hesitated before speaking.
Li Minchun was startled.
She quickly grabbed Zhang Mi’s wrist and asked with concern, “Why? Is Gu Xing bullying you?”
While speaking, she pulled Zhang Mi closer into a hug and whispered, “Don’t worry, if Gu Xing dares to bully you, I’ll be the first to not let him get away with it.”
Looking at Li Minchun’s concerned face, Zhang Mi felt grateful, “I owe you all so much for taking care of me during this time. I’ve been very happy with you all, but I must go back.”
“Why?”
Li Minchun still couldn’t accept the fact that Zhang Mi needed to leave.
Zhang Mi looked helpless and explained, “My sister is getting married, and she wants me back immediately.”
“Zhang Qing is getting married?”
Upon hearing this, not only Li Minchun but also Jian Yiqing, who had just come down from upstairs, was taken aback and exclaimed in surprise.
