Supreme Rogue Play in Another World - Chapter 45 - Impossible to Guard Against
Suddenly, Run Tiancheng ceased his attack and flipped backward to a distance of about three meters. It turned out that at some point Hagen had pulled out a gleaming dagger!
At this moment, Hagen’s body was embedded in the wall, a clear imprint of five red finger marks etched on his face, his body battered with scars as if struck by a meteor shower.
Yet, a fierce glow still shone in his eyes.
Despite my relentless onslaught, he found an opportunity to counterattack. A few beads of sweat began to trickle down Run Tiancheng’s forehead. Could he be invincible?
Hagen chuckled grimly and struggled out of the wall. He wiped the blood from his mouth, tottering as he stood: “Impressive… such powerful fists, such speed. I really thought you would beat me to death!”
“I’m surprised myself that you survived such attacks. However, being severely injured now, you probably don’t have much strength left to fight, do you?” Run Tiancheng shrugged his shoulders.
Hagen licked the dagger with his tongue, suddenly widening his eyes, and charged forward like an arrow. His hand turned into a claw aimed at Run Tiancheng’s chest: “Don’t underestimate me!”
Run Tiancheng easily evaded the attack, then with a gentle tap on Hagen’s back, sent him sprawling face down on the ground. The dagger slipped from Hagen’s hand, clattering to the side.
“Enough. I don’t underestimate you, but you lost,” Run Tiancheng said, his eyes filled with pity. Such a capable person, yet a mere watchdog for Ge Long’s dark forces-truly pathetic! He sighed, turning his gaze to Ge Long: “Your turn now!”
Ge Long stood up and clapped his hands. “Not bad, not bad. I’m really surprised. I never thought anyone could beat someone like Hagen so badly. I used to think there was no one in the world who could surpass him. You’ve truly opened my eyes!”
Run Tiancheng licked his lips and said, “Thanks for the compliment, but it’s too late. Prepare your last words; I’ll send you to another world soon!” He cracked his knuckles, producing a series of popping sounds.
“Oh, don’t be so heartless. You’ve already defeated Hagen and become the strongest genetic mutant. How about joining forces with me? With your strength, we could easily dominate the entire province! Money? I’ve got plenty of it, use as much as you want!” Ge Long revealed his sleazy nature.
“I’m not interested, so don’t bother. And by the way, you’re mistaken. I’m not a genetic mutant!” Run Tiancheng firmly refused.
“Haha! It doesn’t matter what you are. You have strength, that’s all that matters. However, you’re destined to fail because of that worthless mercy you hold onto!” Ge Long’s ferocity showed as he flung his cigar to the ground and pointed at Run Tiancheng. “You’re bound to lose!”
“Oh? Do you have some ace up your sleeve?” Run Tiancheng was puzzled, unable to understand why Ge Long seemed so confident at this stage.
Suddenly, he felt a chill at the back of his neck. He quickly sidestepped, a dagger grazing past his shoulder and leaving a shallow scratch on his skin.
“You!” Run Tiancheng turned to see Hagen, who was gasping for air, holding the dagger.
“Incurable!” Run Tiancheng’s anger flared again. He spun around and kicked Hagen, sending him crashing through the private room door, knocking him unconscious.
“Hmph, is this what you’re talking about?” Run Tiancheng picked up the dagger from the ground and examined it closely. The dagger was made of a material unlike ordinary metal, so sharp that its gleaming edge seemed as if it could cut through light itself.
“Yes, this dagger. I spent a fortune acquiring it, made from a meteorite. It can cut through anything. Even if you’re bulletproof, you can’t withstand this dagger!” Ge Long sat back down, confidently sipping a glass of red wine.
“However, it’s of no use now!” Run Tiancheng released the dagger, letting it fall straight down and embed deeply into the granite floor.
“Is that so?” Ge Long’s smile turned sinister.
Just as Run Tiancheng was about to speak, he suddenly felt a surge of energy roiling through his body. A domineering force swiftly spread from the wound on his shoulder, sapping his strength as soon as it came into contact. His entire body became weak and limp, his legs unable to support him, causing him to fall to one knee. “Could it be…?”
“Just realizing it now? Hmph!” Ge Long said smugly. “Remember that time at the disco bar when you fell for Boss Liang’s trick? I’m telling you, this is the same poison, except I’ve used a dosage a hundred times greater than that time. Do you understand what that means? It’s enough to bring down twenty elephants!”
“So that’s it… Despicable…” Run Tiancheng gritted his teeth, trying to stand, but his legs had completely lost contact with his brain’s central nervous system. Unable to support himself, he collapsed onto the floor.
“Oh dear, what’s wrong with our superman? Taking a nap, are we? It’s not the right time for that, is it?” Ge Long taunted, and his henchmen joined in laughter.
“Feeling helpless, aren’t you? Do you know why I’m so confident in taking you down?” Ge Long laughed as he spoke to someone in the private room behind him: “Brother, come out and meet your old friend!”
Stepping out from the private room was none other than Ge Fei, the one who once forced Run Tiancheng into a corner.
“Oh my! Thanks to you, I spent months lying in the hospital. Now it’s your turn to lie down, except it won’t be in a hospital-it’ll be in the morgue!” Ge Fei ground his foot into Run Tiancheng’s face.
“Originally, Hagen wouldn’t have had this much power, and I was worried about facing you. But ever since I learned about you from Ge Fei and started secretly investigating, I discovered that you had a blood test at the central hospital. They still had your blood sample. Through scientific research, it was found that your genetic makeup is vastly different from an ordinary person’s, but quite similar to Hagen’s. So, I had Hagen injected with your gene. The goal is not to defeat you, but to be capable of stabbing you once!” Ge Fei finally revealed the course of events and pulled the dagger from the ground, aiming it at Run Tiancheng’s temple.
