Supreme Rogue Play in Another World - Chapter 36 - Cut Down in Chaos
Tianyi Street was in complete chaos. Guests seeking entertainment were fleeing in panic, holding their heads as they ran out of every doorway. Groups of murderous-looking teenagers brandishing weapons had split into countless factions, blocking every entrance and exit of Tianyi Street with violent force.
In a matter of just a few minutes, the street had turned into a blood-soaked zone. Individuals who were once formidable at these entertainment venues had either become lifeless corpses frozen in expressions of anguish or were gasping for breath, covered in blood, in corners. These vicious teenagers adhered to one rule: any resistance would be met with a flurry of fatal blows. Anything connected to Xin Weng had to be obliterated!
In Xin Weng’s quadrangle dwelling, the old master sat in the armchair, his face ashen. At his feet lay a shattered phone. The young man at his side was trembling, not daring to utter a sound, cautiously watching Xin Weng.
“Damn it, this meal was fed to the dogs! I really underestimated Ge Long!” Xin Weng’s eyes were bloodshot with rage, clearly shaken by the events on Tianyi Street.
“Old master, I already called our guys to rush to Tianyi Street to handle the situation,” the young man reported cautiously.
“Handle the situation? What situation? Going there now, can it bring my men back to life? Can it restore my place?” Xin Weng glared at the young man, gripping the armchair tightly. “Quickly call everyone and head to Jiuzhou District! Ge Long, you dare to cross me, I’ll show no mercy. If need be, we go down together today!”
“Old master, we’re seriously wounded now. If we hit Jiuzhou District, I fear…” The young man hesitated.
“Hmph, you have no guts, do you? Ge Long’s efforts are probably all directed at distracting the police and wrecking my territory. He wouldn’t expect me to strike back. If I’ve lost an arm, he has to lose a leg!” Xin Weng, ever cunning, was already plotting to turn the tables even in such dire circumstances.
Indeed, Ge Long couldn’t anticipate Xin Weng’s counterattack, but Zhou Cang had foreseen it. He had long arranged for Sun Hai, with a bunch of genuine villains, to guard each venue in Jiuzhou District. At the first sign of Xin Weng’s men, they would swiftly neutralize the threat.
Zhou Cang lay in a van, gazing from afar at the smoke-filled chaos of Tianyi Street, a cigarette in his mouth that he hadn’t bothered to light.
Zhou Cang’s phone suddenly rang, and Sun Hai’s voice came through the line: “Zhou, you were right. Xin Weng’s men have appeared at the entrance to Jiuzhou District. Looks like they’ll reach me in about ten minutes!”
Zhou Cang sat up quickly. “Okay, Sun-Ge, it’s up to you now!” He hung up, pulled out a lighter from his pocket, lit his cigarette, and extended it out the van window.
This seemed to be a signal. Wei-Ge and four other bosses jumped out of several nearby vans, followed by a few men who looked quite peculiar. They appeared to be in their thirties, with weathered faces and eyes that shone with a blade-like sharpness.
“Cang-Ge!” they greeted, gathering in front of Zhou Cang’s van.
“Get in the van. The show has already started! It’s our turn to perform!” Zhou Cang commanded, and everyone piled into the van, heading north.
At the entrance of Xin Weng’s quadrangle dwelling, a dozen bodyguards patrolled back and forth. Xin Weng reclined comfortably on an armchair, resting his eyes as he awaited news from his men about Jiuzhou District. The young man was far less composed, taking deep drags from his cigarette and pacing the courtyard.
Suddenly, the headlights of a van illuminated the gate of the quadrangle dwelling, and all the bodyguards became alert. They hadn’t anticipated that when the van doors opened, a group of burly men armed with sharp weapons would rush out.
“Who are you? What do you want?” one bodyguard shouted, reaching for his gun. But just as his hand touched the gun inside, he suddenly felt a chill on his neck, and then his whole body went limp and collapsed to the ground.
One of the weirdos licked the blood off his dagger, and the sharp gleam in his eyes seemed to intensify. The other bodyguards hurriedly drew their guns, but they met the same fate as the fallen bodyguard, each sustaining a deep, fatal wound in the most vulnerable part of their bodies.
Zhou Cang and Wei-Ge leisurely got out of the car, observing the weirdos standing at the entrance smiling at them. They returned an approving smile and then gestured to proceed into the courtyard.
The young man inside the courtyard seemed to hear the commotion and shouted towards the entrance, “Hey, what’s going on? What happened?”
There was no reassuring response from the door, and his heart tightened. He quickly walked towards Xin Weng’s house while shouting, “Where is everyone? Come out, there’s a situation!”
As soon as the words were spoken, a dozen well-trained bodyguards rushed out from the other houses, holding firearms and surrounding the entrance of Xin Weng’s house.
“What’s going on?” Xin Weng asked, opening his eyes at the sound, only to see the young man rushing in, flustered.
“Something seems to have happened!” The young man’s sentence was cut short as Xin Weng’s expression darkened. He didn’t need to ask further because he could already see five young men in their early twenties and several burly men in their thirties entering the courtyard, heading toward the building where he was.
“You must be the esteemed Xin Weng, right? I’ve heard a lot about you!” Zhou Cang said with a smile, clasping his hands in salute.
“What happened to the bodyguards at the gate? How did they let you in? Who are you people?” the young man demanded before Xin Weng could speak.
“No worries, those bodyguards were tired and wanted to nap. I just helped them sleep. They probably won’t be waking up again!” Zhou Cang shrugged, toying with an exquisite piece of jade in his hand.
“Haha, since ancient times, heroes have been young. You seem quite impressive, young man. Can I have your name?” Xin Weng asked as he slowly stood up from the armchair.
“Zhou Cang!” Zhou Cang replied with a smile, tossing the jade to Xin Weng, who caught it deftly. Zhou Cang rubbed his nose and said, “I heard you have a passion for antiques, Xin Weng. Consider this ancient jade my gift to you upon our first meeting.”
Xin Weng examined the jade in his hand with a faint smile. “Indeed, a fine piece, truly a generous gift. But it’s too much for me. I’m afraid I can’t accept it!” He tossed the jade back to Zhou Cang, who made no move to catch it, allowing it to shatter at his feet.
“Once a gift leaves my hands, I never take it back. Even if it breaks, it has nothing to do with me!” Zhou Cang didn’t even glance at the broken pieces. Boss Liang quickly lit a cigarette for Zhou Cang.
“You think coming here, you can do something to me?” Xin Weng scoffed as he sat back down, confident in the elite bodyguards he had stationed at the entrance-unlike those at the gate, these were highly paid professionals.
“You mean these unimpressive guys?” Zhou Cang sneered, snapping his fingers as he stepped back. Several weirdos positioned themselves in front of him, each with an eager and savage grin…
