Supreme Rogue Play in Another World - Chapter 35 - A Nightmarish Evening
Long asked, pacing with his hands behind his back. He hadn’t had such an exhausting meal in a long time and felt an inexplicable rage bubbling within him, eager to vent it on someone.
“That matter? It’s simple. If we want to fight, we can’t have other strong competitors in Xinyuan City. Leaving them would be a hidden danger later on. Now that we have the capability, we should remove this cancer immediately; otherwise, we’ll have to tiptoe around later,” Zhou Cang began explaining his thoughts. Strangely, whenever Zhou Cang spoke, everyone seemed to find his reasoning sound. Ge Long’s anger subsided by half, and he sat down quietly to listen.
“Isn’t Long-Ge replacing his uncle next month? His power will increase, but so will the problems. If you remove this cancer then, it will definitely affect your image. Just think about the headlines on the provincial newspaper-continuous violent incidents in Xinyuan City right after the new municipal committee secretary takes office. Won’t that impact you? You might be able to bribe the higher-ups, but you can’t silence the public,” Zhou Cang started listing the pros and cons of the situation.
As Zhou Cang spoke, Ge Long nodded repeatedly. After Zhou Cang finished, Ge Long exhaled deeply, “You’re thinking far ahead. With you as my right hand, it would be hard not to rise rapidly. Just as you said, the tooth already has a cavity, better to pull it out sooner rather than later!” Ge Long took a cigar from his pocket and tossed one to Zhou Cang, lighting one for himself while frowning, “However, Xin Weng, that old fox, isn’t so easy to deal with. You probably don’t know who’s backing those schools you’re messing with, do you?”
Zhou Cang smiled and lit the cigar, taking a drag only to cough violently and quickly snuffed it out, saying, “Of course I know. The groundwork before making a move was thorough. Xin Weng? An old timer in Xinyuan City, a tyrant thirty years ago, but times have changed. He should have retired by now. Once I consolidate the power of the schools in my hands, we won’t even need Long-Ge’s men to easily…” He gestured across his neck with his hand.
“Right, I’ve been too concerned about his status in the underworld, so I haven’t touched him. But I’m about to become the municipal committee secretary, why should I care about him anymore? Moreover, using students… heh heh!” Ge Long chuckled sinisterly, rubbing his stubbly chin, “Little brother, get ready to organize. Call out all those in your schools under eighteen who can fight, kill, and aren’t afraid to die. It’s 6:30 PM now; we strike at 10 PM sharp, smashing Xin Weng’s place in the North District. But, if we proceed this way, it seems a bit hard to explain to the police, huh?”
“Don’t worry, Long-Ge, leave it to me!” Zhou Cang’s lips curled into a wicked smile, hinting at another cunning plan brewing in his mind.
At 9:30 p.m., dozens of vans arrived near an abandoned factory in the North District of Xinyuan City, just three streets away from the bustling Tianyi Street. Over three hundred young men with weapons alighted, each looking fierce and ready for battle. Zhou Cang sat in the front vehicle, watching his watch as he waited for the right time.
Meanwhile, in the northern part of Xinyuan City on Zhou Jiang’s turf, dozens of vans pulled up near People’s Square. Two groups brandishing weapons faced off fiercely on the square, leading to bystanders immediately calling the police. With nearly a hundred people fighting, the entire North District police force was deployed, and additional officers were recruited from other districts.
Simultaneously, a tip-off was made to the police station about dozens of people planning a significant drug transaction on the outskirts of Xinyuan City, all armed. Director Jiang immediately ordered the mobilization of all remaining city police forces to intercept them, even arming the officers on duty at the station and loading them into patrol cars.
Zhou Cang, confident in his timing, signaled a charge. Three hundred underage thugs armed with machetes and other weapons stormed Tianyi Street, targeting all of Xin Weng’s businesses, smashing their way in and attacking anyone who resisted, causing chaos in the city.
The emergency call was immediately forwarded to Director Jiang’s office. After taking the call, Director Jiang was dumbfounded and started scratching his head incessantly over his desk. What was going on tonight? It seemed like all the troublemakers had emerged at once. Besides himself and a few senior officers, the police station was left with only the cleaning lady and the night watchman. It seemed that there was no escaping this predicament. After thinking for a long time, he slowly took out a piece of paper from the drawer and began to write a resignation letter.
In the VIP room of the Heavenly Dream Karaoke Bar, Ge Long was enjoying the special services of a prostitute while watching the news with a satisfied expression. The reporter’s vivid narration made him feel elated. Zhou Cang’s plan was a complete success. He had helped arrange the brawl at People’s Square. The two groups had fought for quite a while, yet there weren’t many injuries, just some superficial wounds that could be resolved with a bit of money. As for the drug deal in the suburbs, it was nothing but a false rumor. Just thinking about the policemen racing for dozens of kilometers only to find nothing made him feel even more pleased.
This night was truly wonderful for him…
