Supreme Rogue Play in Another World - Chapter 21 - Emergence of Purple Qi
“What… what is this?” Run Tiancheng completely forgot the soreness in his body and jumped up suddenly. In that instant, the faint purple qi in the palm of his right hand vanished.
Run Tiancheng clenched his fist and then struck a nearby tree with force. With a loud ‘thud,’ a handprint appeared on the trunk, which was as thick as a water barrel.
He furrowed his brows. It didn’t seem different from before; no special power had emerged, and his body still felt empty. There was no trace of that peculiar force.
After pondering for a while without finding a suitable answer, Run Tiancheng calmed himself. Although he didn’t understand what the purple qi on his palm was, nor if his reckless actions had any negative consequences, he felt a bit fearful recalling his impulsiveness in the rain earlier.
With that thought, he decided to sit cross-legged and sense his body. He had tried this many times before; as long as he calmed his mind, he could feel the blood flow within him.
The answer was reassuring. His body showed no signs of being struck by lightning. He wondered how long he had been unconscious. If too long, he hoped that the Jiuzhou Higher Education Institution Alliance hadn’t caused too much trouble during his time away on the mountain.
Just as he was about to get up and head down the mountain, that strange force suddenly surged from his Dantian again, moving into the meridians on his right side. The faint purple qi appeared once more in the palm of his right hand.
“Could it be…” Run Tiancheng suddenly thought of something. He turned and struck the tree behind him with his palm again. The tree shook twice; then, from where his hand and the trunk met, white smoke emerged. Following that, a crack as wide as a bowl appeared below his palm, and the entire trunk exploded from the middle, scattering fragments of wood chips everywhere.
Run Tiancheng was stunned. This kind of explosion seemed to break the tree’s internal structure from the inside out. Just as he was startled, the purple qi in his palm vanished again.
“Just as I thought!” Run Tiancheng was ecstatic. This power only manifested when he was completely calm, proving that his efforts had not been in vain!
After descending the mountain, it was already evening, and Run Tiancheng checked his phone. It was 6:40.
He first called Ouyang Jing, but surprisingly, her phone was turned off. What’s that girl up to? Has she found someone else? He let his mind wander for a while before dialing Glasses Shorty’s number, only to find it was also off.
“Hmm? Has it become fashionable to turn off phones while I was away?” Run Tiancheng scratched his head in confusion; even Zhou Cang and Third Zhuang’s phones were off.
“Something’s wrong!” Run Tiancheng realized abruptly and immediately took a cab to Yuhua University.
At both the classroom and the student union conference room, there was no sign of the Tiancheng Gang members, further confirming Run Tiancheng’s suspicions that something had happened. Feeling a bit frantic, he rushed to the study building. Sure enough, as soon as he entered, he saw a girl from the Tiancheng Gang pacing up and down the stairs with her phone, looking worried.
“Hey, you!” Run Tiancheng didn’t know the girl’s name, but he hurried over and grabbed her school uniform.
“Ah! Boss… Boss, you’re back!” she exclaimed, bursting into tears upon seeing Run Tiancheng. “Young Master Cang… Young Master Cang and the others are in trouble!”
The words hit Run Tiancheng like a bolt from the blue.
He quickly asked, “Don’t cry, just tell me, what happened to them? Where are they?”
Scared by Run Tiancheng’s anxious demeanor, the girl stammered for a while before saying, “You’ve been away from school for half a month with no news. Young Master Cang and Jing-Jie1 have been frantically searching for you. While the Jiuzhou Higher Education Institution Alliance caused some trouble a few times, Young Master Cang managed to resolve it. Yesterday, someone spread a message saying you had been missing for so many days because you were in their hands, supposedly locked up in an abandoned warehouse in the western suburb, and that you were dying. Young Master Cang and Jing-Jie immediately organized a group to rescue you, but they haven’t returned since!”
Run Tiancheng was stunned. He never imagined that the opponents would use him as bait, and Ouyang Jing and Zhou Cang had been gone for two whole days with unreachable phones. What else could that mean but trouble?
Unable to speculate further, he took the address from the girl and rushed out of the school to grab a cab straight to the western suburb warehouse.
The warehouse in the western suburb was previously a factory used for storing goods. However, the factory had gone bankrupt several years ago, and just like the sugar factory, nobody was willing to invest in the land anymore, leaving it abandoned.
The warehouse was quite large, consisting of eleven connected storage rooms. Run Tiancheng had searched all eleven rooms. Not only did he not find any trace of Zhou Cang and the others, but he didn’t even see a ghost’s shadow. In one of the larger storerooms, however, he discovered dozens of iron pipes and baseball bats, along with several pools of blood. Could it be that something terrible had happened?
Run Tiancheng felt incredibly heavy-hearted. Since he couldn’t find Zhou Cang and his group here, he decided to confront Wei-Ge directly!
At the entrance of Tianshi University, several small food stalls were bustling with activity. Many residential students gathered here to enjoy some barbecue snacks and drinks.
With a baseball bat slung over his shoulder, Run Tiancheng approached the school’s entrance where two young security guards stepped forward to block his path: “Who are you? Unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside.”
“Move aside! I’m here to find someone!” Run Tiancheng said, not bothering to explain as he tried to push past them.
“Stop him! I’ll go report this to the security office. We’ve got trouble here!” One of the guards quickly ran towards the dispatch room.
“You can’t go in, or I’ll call the police!” the other guard warned.
“Get out of my way!” Run Tiancheng glared at the guard, his eyes filled with a murderous intent that frightened the guard into sitting down on the ground as Run Tiancheng continued into the school.
“Why didn’t you stop him? What’s going on?” the returning guard exclaimed.
“D-demon…” The guard on the ground was pale, trembling, and a foul smell wafted from under him.
In the dormitory, Wei-Ge was playing Mahjong2 with several of his subordinates when a student burst out of the room, shouting in panic, “Wei-Ge… Wei-Ge… It’s serious!”
“Damn it, useless trash, what are you yelling about? I’m about to win with a ‘big three dragons3‘; whatever it is can wait until I’m done!” Wei-Ge snapped at the student.
“There’s… there’s someone from another school who’s beaten up some of our brothers and is asking around, specifically looking for you, Wei-Ge!” the student managed to say despite his fear.
“What? Someone dares to cause trouble here? Who is it?” Upon hearing this, Wei-Ge pushed the Mahjong tiles aside, his eyes gleaming with a cold light…
