Supernatural Brokers Rampaging in the Human World - Chapter 167 - Trouble
Despite the aggressive demeanor of the man and his entourage of lackeys, Shang Yue remained unfazed. She maintained a formal tone, saying, “Sir, as I’ve explained, our VIP rooms are reserved for members only. You are not a VIP here, so we cannot accommodate your request.”
“VIP? It’s just about money, right? Name your price, and I’ll pay it,” retorted the man, whose hair was dyed in a garish, non-mainstream style. He appeared to be in his early twenties, flanked by a group of followers with similarly outlandish hairstyles.
Ilze glanced at the group with a flicker of disdain in her eyes. Su Yang noticed and curiously asked, “Do you know them?”
“The leader is the current head of The Fallen Alliance,” Ilze replied, her voice dripping with contempt. Su Yang was surprised; though The Fallen Alliance wasn’t exactly reputable in the past, it hadn’t sunk to such lows.
“After Ferdinand graduated, The Fallen Alliance pretty much disbanded. The name was picked up by new students, but hardly anyone respects their authority. Even non-humans now look up to the student union, thanks to Ferdinand’s efforts,” Ilze explained, knowing Su Yang was unfamiliar with the current school dynamics.
Vanessa chimed in, clearly sharing Ilze’s disdain, “These guys are basically a ‘not welcome club,’ a gathering of nouveau riche and spoiled brats.”
Shang Yue continued to argue with the group, but upon spotting Su Yang watching the scene unfold, she rolled her eyes and summoned security robots to escort the troublemakers out.
“I’m sorry, sir, but our membership is by invitation only. You’re disrupting our business, and if you don’t leave, I’ll have to call the authorities,” Shang Yue said, eager to resolve the situation quickly since her friend had arrived.
The leader of the non-mainstream group sneered, “Do you think I can’t shut down your bar? Before security arrives, wreck the place!”
Shang Yue cursed under her breath and ordered the security robots to forcibly remove them, but the leader’s bodyguards were surprisingly skilled and quickly shielded him.
Su Yang frowned and slowly approached. Her presence immediately drew the attention of many onlookers, captivated by her striking appearance. Whispers spread among the crowd, speculating about the identity of this unfamiliar beauty-could she be a new student enrolling next year?
The non-mainstream leader also noticed her, his eyes flashing with a brief admiration before turning lecherous. Su Yang was thoroughly disgusted, but before she could react, Ilze stepped in front of her.
“Jay Hancock, I suggest you watch your words and actions,” Ilze said sharply, her tone icy-a rare display of her displeasure. Mammon, the demon, rolled his eyes unseen; if Ilze hadn’t already expressed her feelings, he might have thought she was into women, particularly Lin Zhaonuan!
Jay Hancock, the leader, was momentarily taken aback to see the student union chairperson confronting him. He didn’t take her seriously, as they were on opposing sides. “Oh, isn’t it our student union president? Since when did the president start meddling in everything?”
Ilze, clearly annoyed, used her Terminal to call for security.
Jay Hancock’s gaze turned dangerous, but when he looked at Su Yang, it became lewd again. “This pretty little thing looks new. What’s your name, sweetheart?”
Su Yang’s expression was cold as she scoffed and casually sent an ice shard whizzing past his ear, leaving a cut on his face.
The onlookers were stunned. Jay Hancock was notorious for his arrogance, backed by the Hancock family’s wealth from natural resources, ranking among the top ten families. Few dared to challenge him, yet here was someone who did.
The bar’s dim lighting made it hard for people to immediately recognize Su Yang as Adonis Stewart’s wife, even though she seemed familiar.
Jay Hancock, enraged, ordered his bodyguards, “Grab her!”
However, the bodyguards couldn’t get close to Su Yang. Ilze and Vanessa were more than capable of protecting her without her needing to lift a finger.
The two groups clashed until security arrived to separate them. The security team quickly escorted Jay Hancock and his entourage out. Shang Yue’s bar was under special protection, given her connection to Lin Zhaonuan, who had the entire Stuart Family behind her.
With Jay Hancock gone, the atmosphere relaxed. Onlookers watched as the bar owner led the group into a private room, sparking discussions about the stunning woman who had just made a scene.
Soon, videos of the incident appeared on the forum.
“You sure have impeccable timing. Why is it that trouble always follows you?” Shang Yue teased, lounging on the sofa.
Su Yang rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. It’s your bad luck, not mine!”
The group chatted happily in the private room. Vanessa, reminded of the forum, logged on and saw the bar’s post trending, with everyone asking who the mysterious woman was.
It seemed most people who knew Lin Zhaonuan had already graduated, leaving only the sixth and seventh-year students familiar with her.
Curious, Su Yang glanced at the forum. Despite five years away, it was as lively as ever, filled with gossip and trivial posts, with few serious discussions.
The forum, of course, had its share of experts. Even though the bar’s lighting was dim, someone adjusted the photo and recognized the legendary first genius of Laurel Academy from five years ago-Lin Zhaonuan.
“Those who don’t recognize her must be new students. Lin Zhaonuan was on par with Principal Adonis! Oh, and even if you don’t know her, you should know Principal Adonis’s wife-this is her!” a user posted after enhancing the photo.
In reality, even the knowledge of “Adonis Stewart” had faded over five years, with few remembering he was still the principal of Laurel Academy.
Senior students on the forum sighed and quickly dug up videos of Su Yang’s past competitions, showcasing what it meant to be the top genius. Soon, videos of Chen Zhao also surfaced on the homepage.
The forum turned into a fan frenzy, with admirers expressing their awe.
“Just a reminder, folks, these two are married-to each other-and they’re very much in love,” the original poster coldly dashed any romantic hopes, leaving no room for doubt.
They even helpfully linked the couple’s social media accounts in the post.
It was like a generational gap; the younger students didn’t grasp how formidable Adonis Stewart and Lin Zhaonuan were. They’d heard the names but had no concept until the videos showed them the truth-these two were practically otherworldly!
Meanwhile, Jay Hancock remained oblivious to the magnitude of what he’d stirred up, still detained by security. But Chen Zhao was already aware that someone had dared to covet his beloved, and he was making sure the Hancock family received a very pointed and unfriendly message.
The Hancock family, upon receiving a communication from the Stuart Family, barely had time to rejoice before the contents left them terrified. The current head even considered disowning Jay for the trouble he’d caused.
