Supernatural Brokers Rampaging in the Human World - Chapter 159 - The Wedding (Part 1)
Chen Zhao and Su Yang had just returned, and their arrival caused an uproar, triggering a week-long media frenzy. Headlines were dominated by discussions of their return, the proposal, and their upcoming wedding.
On various forums, entire pages were filled with posts analyzing the two of them from every possible angle. People speculated endlessly about what they had been doing during the past five years. Some claimed they had truly traveled to another planet, while others theorized that the wealthy Stuart Family had purchased a planet just to serve as their marital home.
There was no shortage of sharp-eyed individuals in this world, either. Some had even started making clever connections to supernatural abilities…
A number of posts provided well-reasoned analyses. One such post read:
“Let’s break this down step by step. First, five years ago, the two of them disappeared without a trace. However, the previous clan leader of the Stuart Family, Albert Stuart, who also happens to be Adonis Stuart’s father, made no significant moves. He simply announced, quite calmly, that he would temporarily assume the role of clan leader and act as the Chairman of the Stuart Group.
“The key word Albert used is ‘temporary.’ Doesn’t this suggest that the family knew exactly what the two of them were doing, allowing them to remain so composed?
“Now, five years later, Mr. Adonis Stuart returns with great fanfare and proposes to Miss Lin Zhaonuan. Prior to this, there were no indications that they intended to marry, although it was well-known that their relationship was strong. There’s speculation that this might have been due to Ms. Lin being too young, but could there be another reason? Perhaps they were uncertain about their relationship at the time.
“However, upon their return, they rapidly decided to marry. Could this hint that the two of them experienced something in an unknown place-something so intense that it possibly even involved life-threatening trials?
“And let’s not forget about the ring on Ms. Lin’s hand. Let’s skip over the pinky ring since most people already understand its symbolism. But as for the engagement ring on her middle finger, I’ve gone to great lengths to have the material analyzed by friends specializing in geology, gemology, and materials science. The results? There’s nothing on the market remotely similar to this material unless it’s synthetic.
“But why would the clan leader of the Stuart Family propose with a cheap synthetic ring? So, here’s another bold guess: this material isn’t from Earth at all!”
Adding to this was the photo posted by Mr. Adonis himself. We spent an entire night researching and couldn’t find a single location resembling the setting in the image. Even the type of flowers in the photo remains uncertain. First of all, let’s clear up any rumors: those flowers are definitely not a variety of the white spider lily. I’ve had my botanist friend confirm that much.
Now, combining this with the other evidence, we can boldly conclude-they very likely traveled to a new planet! It must be a planet unlike any habitable one we’ve discovered so far, an entirely new world, potentially with undiscovered species!
Finally, allow me to sigh and muse for a moment: having money truly allows people to do whatever they want. In a few years, when top-tier elites begin playing with entire planets, we’ll still be struggling to afford a hover car. 🙂
This post became wildly popular because of its thorough and seemingly well-reasoned analysis, accompanied by a heap of random so-called “evidence.” It quickly flooded the homepages of major social media platforms, and naturally, Chen Zhao and Su Yang couldn’t avoid seeing it.
When Chen Zhao read the part accusing them of being “not confident enough in their relationship,” he frowned deeply. He even considered having the post taken down immediately-for spreading false information! Slander is illegal, after all!
Su Yang glanced at him, half-amused and half-frustrated. No matter how many lifetimes of memories this man carried-whether it was from his previous life or the one before that-he was still as childish and petty as ever.
“They’re all saying we went on some wild adventure to a new planet. Should we buy one just to make it official?” Chen Zhao asked Su Yang with a wide smile, his tone as nonchalant as if he were casually suggesting buying a new manor in Rhein to use as their wedding home.
Su Yang blinked, stunned, and stared at him. “Are you serious?”
Chen Zhao nodded without hesitation. “Of course, right now planets aren’t too expensive. If we’re the first to settle there, it’s ours anyway. Might as well get in on it while international regulations haven’t caught up yet.”
Su Yang, her expression completely blank, thought: This must be what it’s like to deal with a true capitalist. She might have plenty of assets herself, but compared to the clan leader of the Stuart Family, her wealth was practically pocket change.
Chen Zhao began to seriously consider the idea of buying a planet. After all, the Stuart Family had its own aerospace research and development team. Securing and settling an unclaimed planet shouldn’t be too difficult. With so many galaxies and planets in the Milky Way, there was no shortage of unexplored ones.
The famous tourist planet “Suchen Star” of later years was, in fact, discovered and developed as a result of this remarkably impulsive decision. As that forum poster had so aptly lamented: sooner or later, the wealthy really would start playing with planets.
Luxury air cruises? Floating sky cities? Those would pale in comparison. By then, the upper class would greet each other like this: “Do drop by my planet sometime! Just finished developing it…”
The wedding plans were largely managed by Cecilia, with Su Yang occasionally being asked for input. However, after the wedding dress style and the venue were finalized, Su Yang had very little involvement. Cecilia, a mother who had been eagerly anticipating grandchildren for what felt like an eternity, single-handedly orchestrated the entire wedding process.
In Cecilia’s mind, wedding = grandchildren.
Even though Chen Zhao and Su Yang both had their past-life memories restored, the ceremonial significance of a wedding in this lifetime was something they could not ignore. So, naturally, they still went ahead and took wedding photos.
With that settled, Chen Zhao-who hadn’t been back for long-confidently handed the company back to his father and his incredibly unlucky cousin under the guise of “wedding leave.”
Edwin could already envision Alan’s shamelessness in the near future: wedding leave, honeymoon leave, paternity leave… Ah, men.
It was July now, and to allow ample time for preparation, the wedding date was set for mid-November. It would take place on a private island owned by the Stuart Family.
Given the anticipation of an overwhelming number of guests, the Stuart Family castle would likely be unable to accommodate everyone. Holding the wedding on the island seemed like a much more practical choice.
The wedding would consist of two parts: an outdoor ceremony, where vows and all formalities would take place, followed by an indoor banquet in the evening. Just the wedding planning presented over a dozen different proposals, leaving Su Yang dazzled and unsure of what to choose.
Once the final plan and designs were settled, the next four months saw massive shipments of materials being ferried to the island. Preparations went on day and night, with buildings being modified, demolished, or even temporarily constructed for the event.
However, Chen Zhao and Su Yang did not need to bother themselves with any of that. Instead, they began traveling to various locations, using the opportunity to take wedding photos. In just a few short months, the world as they knew it might no longer look the same, and they would likely spend a long period unable to truly enjoy these sights.
Su Yang’s old friends all received wedding invitations-even though they would have heard about her marriage regardless. Anything she did had always been eagerly picked up by every major social media platform.
When Su Yang had left five years ago, even her best friend, Shang Yue, didn’t know exactly what she was up to, only that it was something of great importance. Now, five years later, her best friend was finally back, but only to get married immediately. Shang Yue couldn’t help feeling a sense of mild betrayal, as though she had raised a child only to have them desert her for someone else.
Invitations were also sent to Zhao Chang’an, Ferdinand, and even Qin Jian’an, along with the brothers of the Jiang Family. For the Jiang Family, receiving such an invitation was truly unexpected-they had never dreamed that their diligent sons would be capable of making connections at such a high level.
However, the Mu Family was conspicuously left out, a result of a tacit agreement between Chen Zhao and Su Yang. Neither of them had forgotten the Mu Family’s past actions, and they had no intention of inviting trouble to their own wedding.
Su Yang’s outright refusal was glaringly obvious, leaving many in the Mu Family fuming with frustration yet powerless to do anything about it. Interestingly enough, Mu Fengmian remained calm. They had brought this upon themselves, he thought-everything that happened was a consequence of their own decisions, and this outcome was inevitable.
Still, Mu Fengmian couldn’t ignore the fact that Su Yang was his niece-his sister’s daughter. At the very least, sending a wedding gift seemed appropriate as a gesture of apology. With that in mind, he sent a piece of jewelry, a part of the dowry that had once been prepared for Mu Linlang.
