Not long after learning that Murong Xiaowei was hospitalized, Murong Ying and Murong Qingming came to her hospital room.

Seeing Xiaowei injured, Murong Ying felt heartbroken and asked, “Xiaowei, how did you get hurt like this?”

Murong Xiaowei glanced at Murong Qingming, pretending not to see him, and said, “Just a small injury, nothing serious.”

Mu Lan asked with concern, “Xiaowei, we heard you got hurt and were hospitalized. Why didn’t you tell us?”

Yu Xin said, “Yeah, why don’t you tell us when something happens? Do you still consider us your friends?”

Qingmei chimed in, “Xiaowei, you were definitely in the wrong about this.”

Knowing she couldn’t face their anger, Murong Xiaowei conceded, “It was my fault. I should have informed you. I’m sorry.”

Mu Lan said coldly, “Just a simple sorry and you think we can forgive you? No way.”

Murong Xiaowei replied, “Then tell me, what do I need to do for you to forgive me?”

Mu Lan said, “If you want our forgiveness, you have to treat us to a meal.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “So you were just making a fuss over a meal?”

Yu Xin said, “Xiaowei, don’t think like that. I don’t need a meal.”

Qingmei added, “Do you think we’re like Mu Lan, who’s all about eating?”

Mu Lan said, “What’s wrong with loving to eat? No matter how you upset me, as long as you treat me to a meal, I’ll forgive you.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “So does that mean if Song Yan is caught cheating with another girl and he treats you to a meal, you’ll forgive him?”

Mu Lan replied, “We’ve already broken up, so don’t mention him to me anymore.”

Yu Xin remarked, “Mu Lan, I’m impressed. Breaking up seems worse than not being together in the first place.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “I’m afraid you all have your own issues to deal with, so let’s not make sarcastic comments here.”

Mu Lan said, “Exactly, exactly. Yu Xin, why don’t you break up with Tian Yuan? Our breakup is our business; why are you getting involved?”

Yu Xin felt wronged by her words and said, “Mu Lan, I didn’t mean it that way.”

Mu Lan retorted, “Just imagine, if you and Tian Yuan broke up and I made fun of you, how would you feel?”

Yu Xin said, “Mu Lan, I’ve already apologized for what happened. What more do you want?”

Seeing them arguing, Murong Xiaowei said, “Stop arguing, you guys. We’re all friends; there’s no need for this.”

Mu Lan said, “Does she even consider me a friend? All she does is focus on her boyfriend, and if she ignores me, that’s one thing, but she even laughs at me.”

Yu Xin said, “You have your love life, I have mine. Do we have to interfere with each other all the time?”

Mu Lan said, “When did I interfere with you? Did I ask you how your relationship is going? No, I didn’t. Yet, you make fun of me. Are you really my friend?”

Yu Xin said, “It was wrong of me to joke, and I apologized, but you being relentless is your fault.”

Mu Lan remembered Song Yan saying the same thing to her, and she became angry, “Fine, I’m relentless, and that’s my fault, okay?”

After saying this, Mu Lan quickly ran off. Worried, Qingmei said to Murong Xiaowei, “Xiaowei, I’m going to check on her.”

“Okay,” Murong Xiaowei nodded in agreement, and Qingmei left. Murong Xiaowei glanced at Yu Xin, feeling helpless.

Yu Xin appeared even more helpless after Mu Lan left.

Murong Xiaowei said, “Yu Xin, what’s going on with you?”

Yu Xin replied, “Can’t you see? I’m really upset.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “Yu Xin, you weren’t like this before. You used to be gentle and generous. What changed?”

Yu Xin said, “I haven’t changed; I’ve always been like this.”

Murong Xiaowei asked, “Yu Xin, why did you argue with her?”

Yu Xin said, “It’s clearly her fault. I didn’t want to argue with her.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “Yu Xin, you really have changed. You wouldn’t have argued with Mu Lan over this in the past.”

Feeling she might have overreacted, Yu Xin said, “Xiaowei, I’ll apologize to her.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “If I remember correctly, you’ve been like this since you started dating Tian Yuan.”

“I don’t know. Ever since we got together, I’ve been scared he’d be with someone else, so I thought being tougher might stop him from liking others.”

Murong Xiaowei said, “Yu Xin, if he truly likes you, he won’t like anyone else.”

Yu Xin asked curiously, “Xiaowei, is that true? He won’t like anyone else?”

Smiling, Murong Xiaowei patted her on the shoulder and said, “When you go back to being your gentle self, you’ll understand.”

After considering it, Yu Xin said, “Okay, I’ll try my best.”
