Please Dote on Me - Chapter 44 - Bewildered 1
After waiting for nearly four hours at the JS Office, my feet in the boots had become frozen and numb. The heavy snow continued to fall. Since I had already waited so long, I was determined to stay until he showed up; otherwise, those four hours would have been in vain.
At that moment, Yang Jiexi was sound asleep on the warm bed in the Guesthouse.
I made a phone call to Wen Rou Jing: “Wen Rou Jing, I’m at the JS Office now. I’ve been waiting for four hours, and he still hasn’t shown up. At this time, he should definitely be at the studio filming for next week’s variety show. He would be coming in and out of here.”
“You idiot, stop waiting! I really don’t know what kind of nonsense you’re thinking about,” Wen Rou Jing’s voice sounded a bit impatient.
Just then, Shichui Mingyan appeared. I was so excited that I almost dropped my phone.
“He’s here. He really came out! Look, isn’t that him in the car with the hat pulled down low?” I lowered my hand holding the phone involuntarily.
“Hmm? What? That guy…” I could still hear Wen Rou Jing’s voice faintly through the phone.
I hung up and ran towards Shichui. I was so thrilled to see him that I had to control myself from fainting.
Five meters, three meters, one meter! I was getting closer and closer to Shichui. My heart was racing as the real Shichui Mingyan was right in front of me, and I was almost moved to tears. I watched him get into the car, watched him drive himself, and I walked quickly towards him step by step.
Strangely, Shichui rolled down the window. I was momentarily stunned, unsure of what to do, my heart pounding violently.
Shichui Mingyan was looking at me.
“Qi Yang.”
Was Shichui calling my name? Did those two characters “Qi Yang” really come out of his mouth?
After a moment of daze, I confirmed my thoughts. Yes! He called my name! He was indeed calling my name! My God… I wasn’t just lying on the bed in the Guesthouse, dreaming a long dream, was I? How could this be? The Shichui in front of me was actually calling my name!
“Qi Yang. Is that you?” Shichui’s voice trembled slightly.
Shichui called my name again! He was speaking to me in Chinese!
With the last bit of rationality I had, I responded, “You… are you calling me?”
“You are Qi Yang. That’s right! You are Qi Yang.” A complex expression crossed Shichui’s face.
After saying that, he got out of the car, opened the door, and pulled me in without another word.
Could this be a dream? Or was the real Shichui really beside me?
I sat in the passenger seat, afraid to turn and look at his face.
This bizarre and suffocating scene was actually happening to me. It was unbelievable!
I was so nervous that I couldn’t breathe. Despite the heavy snow, I felt sweat in my palms. I didn’t know what was going on; how could something so outrageous happen? I really thought I might faint.
“Qi Yang, I… I could never find you. I’ve really been looking for you for a long time,” Shichui’s voice was shaky, and his far-from-fluent Chinese came from his trembling lips. The slight upward curve of his eye corners, his clear, sky-like gaze was even more charming than in the posters, radiating a light that made it hard for me to look him in the eye. The real Shichui was right in front of me, and I was struggling to catch my breath.
The most outrageous thing was that he called my name again. He said he had been looking for me for a long time? He was sitting right next to me, speaking Chinese. There was barely half a meter between us!
“Qi Yang, why aren’t you saying anything?”
I was still in shock, unable to respond. I felt as if I had been frozen in the air.
How could I possibly speak? I was completely stunned.
The person in front of me was Shichui Mingyan! Just four hours ago, he had been a distant star to me, and now he was so close. I really couldn’t accept this dreamlike reality.
His chestnut hair peeped out from under the brim of his hat, contrasting beautifully with his fair skin. His thin face made his nose appear prominent yet not harsh, and his lips looked cartoonishly sweet.
“Have you been waiting for me long?” He actually reached out to brush my hair away from my forehead, which was damp from the snow.
I instinctively recoiled and said, “Um… I, I have tissues!”
In a panic, I fumbled for some tissues, wiping my hair clumsily. I secretly stole several glances at Shichui beside me.
“Qi Yang. You can’t keep a distance from me. You’ve kept your distance long enough; you can’t do this. I just want to tell you that I love you, and I’ve never loved anyone else,” Shichui seemed a bit anxious.
The tissues slipped from my hand, and I was at a loss for what to do. I couldn’t believe that Shichui was saying such ridiculous things!
Things were getting more and more absurd! My heart tightened. What the hell was going on? Had he lost his mind? Or was this just my imagination?
“I… you said you…? Please pull over. I want to get out!”
“But…”
“Please pull over! I’m sorry, I need to get out! Right now!”
I thought I might have gone insane! Was I hallucinating just because I was seeing my favorite star? I couldn’t think about anything else. If I stayed with Shichui any longer, I would go even crazier. I really felt like I was about to suffocate.
