Summary
In the middle of the night, I saw a WeChat message on my boyfriend’s phone: “If you didn’t have a girlfriend, would you like me?”
He replied with one word: “Yes.”
I handed him the chat record to see.
After a long silence, he stubbed out his cigarette.
“I told you she’s just a colleague, and I’ve promised nothing will happen with her in the future, isn’t that enough?”
As he said this, there was no expression on his face, but the disappointment and blame in his voice were unmistakable.
At that moment, I realized I might not know this person at all.
