My Sister Is Acting Strange - Chapter 39 - Does This Feel Right?
Tang Huaijin entered the classroom, forcing a weak smile at Bai Yuerou while deliberately ignoring the curious gaze from Xia Xinya. Lost in his thoughts, he settled into his seat, ready to begin the day’s lessons.
The first session was the usual morning self-study. As the bell rang, Shen Yiqiu entered through the back door of the classroom, walking past Tang Huaijin’s seat.
A faint, elegant fragrance wafted into his nose as she passed, causing him to widen his eyes in surprise. Shen Yiqiu wasn’t wearing her usual conservative counselor’s uniform today. Instead, she had opted for a sleek teacher’s office attire. Over her fitted blazer, she wore a black coat suitable for the autumn weather. Her tight black pencil skirt hugged her figure, while her slender legs, wrapped in black stockings, were perfectly toned without a hint of excess. She walked confidently in high heels, the rhythmic click-clack of her steps echoing across the floor.
Tang Huaijin couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy. Was it just his imagination, or had Shen Yiqiu deliberately glanced at him as she passed by?
Sure enough, once Shen Yiqiu reached the podium, she tapped the desk with the chalkboard eraser and announced, “Today, during morning self-study, we’ll hold a brief class meeting to discuss the matter of the Chinese representative.”
“Our previous Chinese representative took a leave of absence at the end of sophomore year and hasn’t returned. It’s not ideal to keep asking the monitor to fetch the handouts. Let’s discuss and select someone to take on this role.”
“Does anyone want to volunteer?” Her gaze swept across the classroom before finally landing squarely on Tang Huaijin.
“???” Tang Huaijin immediately lowered his head, trying to avoid her gaze, his nerves on edge.
The classroom buzzed with whispers, but no one stepped forward to take the bait.
Tang Huaijin’s anxiety grew. He could feel Shen Yiqiu’s unwavering stare boring into him from above.
When no one spoke up, Shen Yiqiu let out a soft scoff and called out, “Tang Huaijin.”
There was no escape now. Tang Huaijin slowly raised his head, meeting Shen Yiqiu’s calm yet piercing gaze. In her seemingly emotionless eyes, he detected a faint trace of menace.
No, he couldn’t give in to this oppressive force. Trembling, he stood up and stammered, “Teacher, I don’t-”
Before he could finish, Shen Yiqiu frowned and interrupted, “Alright, thank you, Tang Huaijin, for volunteering to take on this responsibility. Let’s give him a round of applause.” She started clapping, setting the tone for the rest of the class.
With the teacher leading the applause, the students had no choice but to follow suit. The classroom was soon filled with the sound of enthusiastic clapping.
Bai Yuerou and Xia Xinya, both aware of the situation, exchanged sympathetic glances before looking at Tang Huaijin. They couldn’t help but feel that Shen Yiqiu was deliberately targeting him.
Tang Huaijin, however, was left speechless. You all have no idea what’s really going on!
After announcing Tang Huaijin’s appointment as the Chinese representative, Shen Yiqiu instructed the class to begin their morning self-study. Xia Xinya hesitated for a moment at her desk before reporting to Shen Yiqiu and then taking her test paper to sit beside Tang Huaijin.
Tang Huaijin glanced at her with a look of exasperation. “?”
“Help me with this question,” Xia Xinya said eagerly, pointing to a reading comprehension question on her Chinese test paper. “Check if I got it right.”
Tang Huaijin rolled his eyes, his patience wearing thin. “Am I your personal tutor or something?” Without responding, he waved her off and focused on his math problems.
Unfazed, Xia Xinya puffed up her cheeks and began pestering him. She tugged at his test paper, tapped his hand, and generally made a nuisance of herself. Tang Huaijin frowned deeply, while a mischievous grin crept onto Xia Xinya’s face.
It didn’t take long for Tang Huaijin to figure her out. “This little troublemaker-she gets more excited the more attention you give her.” Deciding to ignore her antics, he pulled out a book and started reading, his expression calm and indifferent. No matter how much Xia Xinya tried to provoke him, he refused to react.
When her efforts failed to elicit any response, Xia Xinya finally gave up. Pouting, she muttered reluctantly, “Teach me, please.”
Tang Huaijin raised an eyebrow and shot her a sly look. “Call me ‘Teacher.'”
Xia Xinya’s eyes widened in disbelief. “In your dreams!”
“Suit yourself,” Tang Huaijin said casually, chuckling as he returned to his book.
After glaring at him for a while and realizing he was completely unyielding, Xia Xinya swallowed her pride. Her face flushed red with frustration as she gritted her teeth and squeezed out the words, “Teacher.”
“Say the whole thing,” Tang Huaijin replied without even glancing up.
Xia Xinya’s cheeks burned brighter as she clenched her fists. “Teacher, please teach me,” she said through gritted teeth.
Tang Huaijin smirked, satisfied. “Gotcha, kid.”
Finally putting his book down, he turned his attention to her test paper and began explaining the question. After finishing the first one, Xia Xinya nodded in understanding and pointed to the next question. Tang Huaijin raised an eyebrow, prompting her to pout and say again, “Teacher.”
The second time was easier than the first. Having already called him “Teacher” once, Xia Xinya found it less humiliating to say it again.
And so, under Xia Xinya’s repeated calls of “Teacher,” Tang Huaijin managed to get through the morning self-study session.
The morning classes flew by, and during lunch, Bai Yuerou greeted them briefly before taking her tray to sit with Lin Ruoxi. The two chatted quietly as they ate.
Seeing her best friend ditch her for someone else, Xia Xinya’s mood visibly soured. She glared at Lin Ruoxi with resentment and occasionally shot angry glances at Tang Huaijin, leaving him thoroughly confused.
After the first class in the afternoon, Tang Huaijin left the classroom with a heavy expression. The next period was Chinese, and as the newly appointed Chinese representative, he had duties to attend to.
Knocking on the office door, he heard Shen Yiqiu’s cool voice say, “Come in.” Tang Huaijin pushed the door open and stepped inside.
“Teacher Shen, I’m here to pick up the handouts.”
“Alright, come over,” Shen Yiqiu replied. She was seated at her desk with her legs crossed, one hand resting on the table while the other lightly draped over her shapely, black-stocking-clad legs.
Tang Huaijin avoided looking directly at her, keeping his gaze fixed downward as he walked to the desk. He picked up the neatly stacked handouts and prepared to leave.
But Shen Yiqiu stopped him with a soft, “Wait. I’ll go with you.” She stood up and followed him out of the office.
Technically, students weren’t supposed to walk ahead of teachers, but Tang Huaijin deliberately quickened his pace, leading the way without hesitation.
Tang Huaijin was walking briskly ahead when Shen Yiqiu’s voice rang out behind him, commanding, “Stop.”
Obediently, Tang Huaijin halted in his tracks. Shen Yiqiu sauntered past him, stopping just ahead to deliver a reprimand. “Students shouldn’t walk ahead of their teachers. Are you implying you want to be above your teacher?”
“…That was my mistake,” Tang Huaijin replied awkwardly, nodding in acknowledgment.
Only then did Shen Yiqiu let out a soft scoff, taking the lead with deliberately slow steps, her hips swaying leisurely as she walked.
Despite his mental guard, Tang Huaijin’s gaze instinctively drifted downward, landing on the snug pencil skirt that hugged Shen Yiqiu’s figure.
Tsk!
Big.
Round.
Perky.
After a fleeting moment of admiration, Tang Huaijin quickly redirected his gaze upward, his thoughts swirling. Why does it feel like Teacher Shen’s hips are swaying more than usual today?
As Shen Yiqiu continued her languid pace, she suddenly turned her head back without warning. Catching Tang Huaijin’s gaze, which was now clear and focused on her face, her brows subtly furrowed, though she said nothing.
After a few more steps, Shen Yiqiu muttered as if to herself, “Slept wrong yesterday. Got a crick in my neck. Turning my head hurts.”
“…” Tang Huaijin’s expression instantly became a complex mix of emotions.
What was this supposed to be?
A hint? An invitation?
Well, if she didn’t mind, why not take a look?
His gaze drifted downward once more, appreciating the view.
This wasn’t crude or lecherous-it was simply an appreciation of beauty. Just as people on the street might take a second glance at an attractive passerby, Tang Huaijin couldn’t help but admire Shen Yiqiu’s natural allure. She had been blessed with curves that were both full and captivating.
When they reached the classroom door, Shen Yiqiu’s supposedly stiff neck suddenly displayed remarkable agility. She turned her head sharply, her eyes locking onto Tang Huaijin’s. Seeing him hurriedly avert his gaze, a faint trace of satisfaction flickered in her eyes. She then offered an explanation, almost as if to justify herself. “Holding the same posture for too long makes you want to move a bit.”
“…” Tang Huaijin’s face was a picture of awkwardness. Who would’ve thought that Shen Yiqiu, with her cold and detached demeanor, could be so deceptive? A crick in her neck? Yeah, right. I don’t believe you for a second.
Shen Yiqiu, seemingly pleased with herself, paid no attention to Tang Huaijin’s discomfort. She strode into the classroom without a backward glance.
Tang Huaijin followed her inside, only to realize that the short two-minute walk had been stretched to the brink of the lesson’s start.
…My teacher is seriously acting strange. What should I do? Waiting for advice-urgent!
